DO NOT PURCHASE your bed here if you have the money to buy elsewhere. We went in looking for a good cash price on a bed. We ended up liking a bed that was more than we wanted to spend - we were going to pay cash. But Joel said we could finance through the credit company he used and do a 90 day 0% interest. Then if we wanted to stretch it out we would just continue to make payments with interest after that. So, we opted for that so we didn't have to slap down $1000 plus tax in cash. Acima- the credit company does everything online & are super difficult to get in touch with. The payments come directly from your checking account but there is never any kind of statement to tell you what you owe, either emailed or on paper. We finally reached them in December to find out what our final balance was- this is after paying $200 per month- the 1st 90 days were no interest- for 4 months. They said we owed $1900!!! When we tried to get to the bottom of why this was the balance, we learned that this was a rent to own contract.... so there was never an option for us to have payed it in 90 days! We literally spoke to 3 different people before they could explain it to us clearly. We did not need to "rent to own". This place, Joel & Acima are running a scam. We are totally screwed now and have to continue to make these payments or... 1) Acima said they would repo our bed!! Or 2) our good credit would be ruined, or 3) both!!!! I do think we will report them to the BBB & the Attorney General, to see if there is any recourse for us. If you want to pay cash for an ok bed, then this might be the place for you. But don't get sucked into the up-sale or the financing. If u have decent credit go to Macy's - they have fabulous beds and great sales. We got suckered BIG TIME. Lesson learned. They really do have this year's miles at 75% off because their storefront does not cost them $30,000 and employ a half a dozen or more. Commission employees. I bought their top-of-the-line memory foam mattress for over $1000. Within a month it was hollowed out in both sleep positions. It continued to get worse. We are not big people -- I weigh 155 pounds and my wife is much less. After 3 months, I contacted John and after a little time and hassle he said it must have been a defective unit and went through the motions of replacing the mattress. However the replacement mattress was already hollowed out just like mine!! -- I am certain he simply gave me somebody else's rejected mattress!! We used that mattress for almost a year until the dips became way too uncomfortable, like sleeping in a hole. I tried to contact John again to get my money back or some other solution, but he no longer responded to emails or phone calls. I don't know how this place gets good reviews. I texted to make an appointment and communication was great. Not a huge selection, but decent options for budget to moderate quality at very low prices. Close the transaction and he may even be able to have the mattress delivered the same day. We did! Yes, it is a strange way to purchase a mattress, but it's definitely a great price because he operates his business this way. His low overhead is the reason he's able to cut us a deal. Dallas Discount Mattress is as good as it gets. I don't know how my life por la noche could get any sweeter. Yep, that's right. I have a giant king size bed, fit for a queen. After going to countless mattress stores, I finally took my search online and that's where I found Dallas Discount Mattress. Even though I'm in Miami they shipped my mattress and box spring to me and I still saved money! Double pillow top mattress (firm) with a 20 year warranty! I saved over $700 even with the shipping. John answered all of my questions over the phone and helped me figure out the best option for my sleep style. After placing my order, John told me that once the mattress arrived in Miami, I'd get a phone call to schedule delivery. Within 7 days I indeed got a phone call and they couldn't have been nicer and more professional. I'm not sure if this is standard, but the dude who delivered the bed helped lug it up the stairs (something I definitely couldn't have done without help). Great place. Please note that the location of this is in a gated area that is a storage locker park. You need to call the guy 10 minutes or so ahead of time so John the owner can get there and let you in. He is super nice and helpful. He was so kind to even deliver same day late on new years eve since we didn't have a spec of furniture in our newly rented house and needed a place to sleep. Their prices are less than half of what you pay at other mattress joints. I am so glad I found this place on yelp and all the great reviews he has received. My husband and I were in the market for a new mattress after getting backaches from the one I've had for 20 years. I know, horrible to keep it that long! I WON a mattress set via the Dallas Discount Mattress. Seriously, check out their facebook page, they seem to always have a giveaway running. Once someone wins, it's onto the next contest. Since it was a contest, I did not go to pick one out, just called and set up delivery. They were nice to deal with and willing to wait a few days to deliver since I work weird days. He offered to deliver on a Saturday, so that's good for people with normal work hours! Came right on time and offloaded it quickly and included all the info and warranty paperwork. Just wish they could've taken the old one as an extra mattress set takes up a lot of room in a small apartment, but luckily only had to wait a week for Salvation Army to come. Wow, what amazing service I received from John!!! I was skeptical at first being this the first time I've ever really bought a mattress for myself I've always just had what was given to me. The warehouse/storage facility was very clean and was a lot like a mini showroom. John helped me pick the perfect mattress based on what I sleep on right now. I hate shopping and I especially hate mattress shopping. Ideally for me, every shopping trip would take 5-10 minutes and not a second more. And that's why I loved Dallas Discount Mattress. No joke, my entire experience here lasted less than ten minutes. It was amazing! I just drove up to the storage facility (after having made an appointment, which was super-simple; the owner encourages same-day appointments, says that all he needs is about twenty minutes notice), met the owner, told him what size mattress I was looking for and what I wanted to spend. He showed me two models that fit my needs. I briefly tried out both of them and instantly knew which one I liked best. A minute later, I was paying a ridiculously low price for a pretty nice new mattress set, while it was being loaded onto my borrowed F-150. A minute after that, I was giving the owner my contact information for the warranty. A minute after THAT, I was driving out the gate with my new mattress. I've had trips to 7-11 for a Snickers bar take longer than this. It's the ultimate in no-fuss mattress shopping. The owner didn't try to upsell me on anything. I didn't have to wait twenty minutes for the crew to pull the order. I was in and out in about the same time it takes to listen "Hey Jude" by The Beatles. I'm impressed. In need of a new mattress at a great price, I hit up Yelp and lo and behold there was DDM which ended up being a stone's throw away. I called that day, met John that day, bought a mattress that day and it was delivered that day. That alone is hard to beat. Wow! I must say I was thrown aback when I ended up rolling up to The Attic but once you get inside it's actually a nice showroom that gets the job done. Innovative even. His overhead is so low that he passes it on to his customers through his pricing. I really appreciated his 30 day guarantee. It made me feel more comfortable with my purchase. It ended up coming in handy. I had to switch to a firmer mattress so I just called, met John up in the showroom again and settled on one and it was delivered the next week. My only qualms were that 1.) John only takes cash or check and 2.) That the guys wouldn't take my old mattress away. They should reconsider that policy. Thankfully I had movers at the same time but if I didn't I would have been sol for a while. My back is jacked up so I would not have been able to do anything. She wanted something really comfy (ok, squishy was her exact word) Anyway, we shopped at Freed's and two other nearby furniture stores before calling John to just see what he might have. How do I begin? I read the reviews a year ago about John and was waiting until I was in the market for a mattress. My son came to me and said he needed a new bed and I knew right where we were going! I wasn't sure of the process but my son called and John told him to just call when he was near. We found the place easily and made the phone call. John came and let us in the gate. After very pleasant introductions, we walked into a small showroom that was surprisingly well set up. I imagined stacks of mattresses in a dark unit. Not so. We quickly found what we were looking for with zero pressure. Can I tell you how much a relief that was? My son is 19 and just moved in an apartment. He wanted a quality bed that was comfortable that fit his $10 an hour wage. He ended up within his budget with a better mattress set than he had even hoped for. I'm not sure I should mention the extra that John also helped us out with since he normally doesn't offer that, but I will say that he went out of his way to help us, even when he didn't have to. This is another area that is normally lacking in furniture stores that we had here. I also found out there had been a law passed that said you cannot drive with mattresses on the top of your car on major highways. This was passed after a fatal accident involved this type of scenario. This was good to know since we were planning just that. I wouldn't have liked a couple hundred dollar fine for that! We arranged for delivery. It was one of the easiest, painless and positive furniture shopping experiences I have had. Purchased a queen and King size mattress in 2015 from John, and couldn't be more happy. We got the mattresses delivered on the specific agreed time frame of 3 days. Both John and his delivery team were extremely patient in explaining differences between each mattress and what makes them different based on various price points.
