And after a four-year period where everything has been running great, I had to have TCC come out again to check on my 17-year-old Amana high-efficiency furnace and the blower that brings in fresh air to the burners and exhausts combustion gases to an outside port along our front wall. That fan was running but cycling on and off, and we could smell some gas there at the exhaust exit panel outside. One quick email on Sunday, the 7th, and Austin from TCC arrived Monday morning to check out our issue. After disassembling our "inducer" motor/blower (a small fan in a gas furnace that creates a draft, pulling in fresh air for combustion and exhausting dangerous exhaust gases out through the flue) housing, Austin found the problem. After 17 years of use, the blower housing drain port was clogged (spider nest? dirt? both?) Austin cleaned it all out and flushed all the rubber drain tubes as well (which were also pretty gnarly), and that fixed it! All back together and running great...and the inducer blower now stays on and runs great. We're back in business on a solid 17-year-old Amana H.E. furnace! Five stars for prompt service response, fair pricing ($287 out the door), and a pleasant, professional, and communicative repair technician...Austin. Solidly recommend TCC, and ask for Austin if you can! Five Stars! P.S.: My neighbor across the street called me the next day and said that "...her furnace has just stopped working. Who would I recommend?" I didn't hesitate to recommend TCC...and they were there later that day. Their technician replaced their main furnace blower motor at a fair price. I was charged for 5" trim & lights, exterior outlet covers, fans that never appeared. Also charged for a city inspection that had already been paid for. They left and after one day, half the house was suddenly without power. No breakers were tripped, hmm... Everything worked before they came and then this for 3 days. They charged $125 call out fee and "additional hourly" ($75) to come back to check what the problem was. They updated an outlet for that $150 adding $45 for materials. (outlet = $45). Turns out the problem is that they re-wired half the house onto one 15 amp circuit. Now, an attic fan, 3 closet lights (in 3 rooms), hallway light, bedroom light, foyer light, front porch light, 1 exterior outlet, 5 interior outlets are all on this one newly rewired 15 amp circuit. I can't use the lights and the tv or the fuse trips. I had to call in another company to redo some of their work. The rest is still not working. They removed the old electrical panel putting in a new one for $1500 + materials. Which is great, but.. didn't leave any kind of information about what breakers run what. Oh and another treat, now all the lights in the house dim up and down constantly. I called to ask if they had any ideas on this new dimming and they said , "You probably have a short. They are really difficult to find, we don't do that." Hmm. Didn't dim before. So, all in all I would NOT recommend this company, or at least the specific guys who came to my house. Well, I wouldn't recommend company either, the bills contained false and inflated charges... $45 for one GFI, $55 for a 5" recess can trim (not the installation that was additional, just the trim).

The 3 installers that came out were so friendly, and explained the entire process. They were professional and were accommodating to our request to wear masks. The work was preformed quickly and 100% to our liking. Prior to the the work, the owner Patrick came out to provide a quote - he's very down to earth and transparent. No fluff salesmen pushy talk! I called and they said they may be able to make it that day..but would be better to reschedule again. This was getting ridiculous so I called another service and they came the next day and completed the job at a lesser cost. Upfront did refund my cc. Our first service was easy, just needed a plug installed for our new Electric motorcycle in our garage right Next to the breaker. I reached out to Reggie through Thumbtack because I was looking for a local electrician to build a project relationship with, and he responded quickly. Our initial discussion (Tuesday) lasted 22 minutes and was quite thorough. I felt positive afterward, although not completely satisfied, because when I inquired about an estimate, he wouldn't give one. Instead, he mentioned that he was "worth it" and that his rates were "middle cost," emphasizing the quality of his work. While I appreciate that his services are said to be excellent, I still needed an idea of the costs involved. The next day (Wednesday after 5p.m) I called Reggie and left a voicemail. The following morning (Thursday) around 8 a.m., I decided to follow up. When he answered, it seemed like I had woken him up, and I apologized for that. He explained he was working late the night before. We discussed estimates since his company provides them for free, but I sensed some reluctance on his part. However, we agreed on a time, and I asked if I could message him on Saturday if I needed to reschedule, to which he agreed, although the entire conversation felt tense on his end. Surprisingly, Reggie called me back less than an hour later to apologize for his tone. That made me feel somewhat more at ease, but things quickly took a downturn. While he acknowledged that my husband and I wanted to understand the costs, he again veered into emphasizing that his work is top quality and that we shouldn't worry about pricing because it would be appropriately valued for the projects we were considering. I understand this, but it's ultimately up to my husband and me to decide how much we want to spend on the various tasks. He inferred that we would be researching and getting multiple estimates, which I confirmed we were doing. Given that our house is new and the wiring could be complicated, we wanted to ensure we were getting the best value and avoiding unnecessary damage during the process. Again, Reggie assured me that he could handle everything, mentioning he had recently stayed late on a project to prove it. I informed him that the original electrician who wired our house would also be inspecting it, as we wanted to make a cost-effective choice with minimal damage. He then claimed that builder electricians would charge us more than other electricians, which I understood, but they might also not have to make as many cuts in the drywall, making it potentially more cost-effective overall. At this point, Reggie seemed to let emotion dictate his responses, losing the focus on factual information. He then expressed frustration about us wasting his time, insisting that while he offers free estimates, it's an hour's drive for him, and if we weren't going to hire him, he wanted us to let him know. I struggled to get a word in but finally interjected to clarify that I intended to contact him before Saturday to inform him of our decision. However, given our communication difficulties and my dissatisfaction with the interaction, I suggested it might be best not to pursue working together. Instead of apologizing or reflecting on my feedback, he abruptly responded that "this is great" and he would cancel our appointment on Monday. I told him that I didn't want things to end this way , that it "wasn't great" but wished him well, and that was the conclusion of our conversation--by far the worst experience I've encountered. Although my husband and I will find another electrician, I was genuinely hoping to work with Reggie based on his comments during our first conversation. We had aimed to have some work done before Thanksgiving, and had his quote been reasonable, I would have found a way to accommodate it. I recognize that he places a lot of pressure on himself to deliver quality work on time, but his customer service skills leave much to be desired. Part of me hopes he calls back to apologize and we can find a way forward, but right now, no price or level of quality justifies this kind of treatment, and I'm sure we can find other electricians who can meet our project needs. I would have appreciated it if he had acknowledged that he wasn't the right fit for our needs and offered a recommendation for another electrician who might be a better match. I'm not here to waste anyone's time, including my own, but I will conduct my research and expect a sense of the costs involved. Overall, while I cannot speak to Reggie's craftsmanship, his interpersonal skills are significantly lacking.
