100% recommend Dallas Skydive Center! I purchased the tandem skydiving for my boyfriend's birthday. Unfortunately due to weather we had to reschedule but they were super great about rescheduling & constant communication. The hanger is a great area with snacks, water (for purchase) & picnic tables while waiting or observing from the ground. They also allow well behaved dogs on leash if you want to bring them. My boyfriend had a wonderful experience. Instructors are professional & provide fun humor. Also, I was very happy with the video & picture package which is emailed afterwards. I'm not going to lie I was slightly nervous going up top in that little plane and then when the turbulence hit my nervous system went to another level lol ... overall though 5 star service all the way. Before going up they explain to you the do's and dont's etc and then you get to mingle with your instructor some before going up in the air. Went Skydiving with a group of 12, and Dallas Skydive Center executed a truly 5-star experience. From beginning to end, the entire experience was positive (and very safe!), making me want to return again as soon as possible. The front desk person, Janet was extremely friendly, and personable and when I call DSC in the future to make another jump reservation, she is the only person I'd want to talk to. She helped to organize and execute a truly flawless experience! Prior to jumping, there was a guy (whose name I forgot) who provided a very helpful and somewhat animated pre-jump instruction, what to expect, what to do/not to when jumping, putting most peoples nerves at east. My tandem instructor, Luis was absolutely outstanding and easily recognized my initial 'jump nerves' and put my mind at ease, and captured some really great photos and video of the jump, truly helping to preserve what will be a life long memory! In regards to other posts regarding photos and videos, I received my photos (via dropbox) before the end of that day, and the video about 3 business days later. Thank you, DSC! read more

Skydiving has been on my list for a long time, so for my 60th birthday, I finally checked the box. A friend recommended Dallas Skydive Center where they had gone. Given the nature of the activity, I did my own homework and confirmed that Dallas Skydive Center was indeed a great choice. When I spoke with Lindsey to schedule the jump, she was extremely helpful, telling me everything I needed to know to get signed up. When I called to change the time of my jump, I spoke with another employee (I believe her name was Melissa) who was also very helpful and informative. Arriving for the jump, everything went very smooth. I was expecting it to be a bit more chaotic (like renting ski equipment in Colorado). Instead, Patricia, the instructor, did an excellent job of getting me harnessed up and providing me a clear explanation of what to do, and what to expect. I'm sure it must take a lot of effort and patience to take people on a tandem dive, but Patricia was very friendly and professional about it. You could tell she enjoyed what she was doing. She made sure the dive would be everything I was hoping and expecting it would be. My friend had similar positive things to say about their instructor. It was an incredible experience that you can't put into words ... you have to experience it. I highly recommend Dallas Skydive Center for anyone considering skydiving. I got this as a surprise birthday gift for a friend; her not knowing anything until we pulled up to the hanger. The whole experience was fantastic and I have no hesitation recommending them. The process, from the time I first called to ask about setting this up to the time we drove away was smooth and professional. From the front office to the pilot to the jump instructors, everyone there is happy and you know they love to do this and love to share the experience with others (The expression on the jump instructor and Marissa below says it all). I never felt pushed into buying extras and it was all a very pleasant experience with a bunch of people that made me feel like a friend. I looked at reviews before I decided to go with Dallas Skydive Center; most of them charge the same. I found one with a Groupon that saved $50, but their reviews made me a bit skittish. I have absolutely no experience with this sport beyond this one (bystander) experience and I'm sure there are other good skydiving centers in the Dallas area that would have proven just as great; maybe even better. Some of the things that I have read in others reviews, here and on that other well-known review sites, are about delays in their booked times and about the amount of time they spend talking about the dangers. The weather was great when we went and there were no delays. We arrived early and started even before the appointment. For those that complain about delays, being delayed because the wind was too strong, or there was a thunderstorm on the way - please go ahead and jump. If the weather has cleared and there is a backup of other enthusiastic people ahead that's the way things work - you can cut ahead of someone on the freeway Monday morning and feel all better. There are real dangers if you go; they do point them out. You may die doing this, they want you to understand and they don't put a sugar coating on it. I can't imagine any reputable center doing anything less. This is not a POSH sort of experience. The hanger is on and old and dusty airfield. The jump plane scared me looking at it (as a 1,000 hour pilot), but the people and their professionalism and their joy in the sport made confident (then again, I was a bystander so what the he...) You have two choices, go to IFLY in Frisco and experience free fall in a completely safe environment (and from the reviews a really fantastic one), or jump out of a plane with all the risks, thrill, and sense of accomplishment. If you choice to do the latter I can whole heartedly, albeit inexperienced in the alternative places, recommend Dallas Skydive Center. If there was one thing I would have done differently it would be to buy the dive for both of us, all be back! read more

My friend and I bought their Living Social deal for the tandem jump and were first timers in May. Not a bad deal at all and talk about awesome people to work with! They really make you feel like family and make sure you are completely comfortable before the jump and go over all instructions clearly. I'm not going to lie I was sooo scared, but I did it! If I ever did it again, this would be the place I would go back to. My friend and I both bought the videos which were $89 and so worth having, I think you at least need it on the first time. There was only one jump instructor working that day, so my friend and I had to go separate instead of together, which kinda bummed us out but it was still an awesome experience! If you want to jump with whoever you are with I would make sure that you can both jump at the same time. This is a smaller business, which is probably the reason that happened when we went. Everything was so fantastic though, and the people are great. If you are going to do it, you should definitely go here! read more

What a wild and awesome experience! Our instructors made us feel comfortable throughout the process. The process goes very quickly which is nice (not a lot of time to change your mind). We had the first time slot of the day, got strapped in, received about 30 seconds of instruction and then got in the plane. We had the option to wear the suit, but I was glad I didn't as it was pretty warm even at 9 in the morning. For girls - I would recommend wearing leggings or something similar not shorts or the harness will be a bit uncomfortable. read more

My brother took me skydiving for my Xmas present which makes me think he dislikes me. I'm not a big fan of heights. So even though I was a bit (((NERVOUS))), Dallas Skydive made me feel as secure and safe as possible. My tandem instructor was friendly, informative, and supportive. Sky diving was in my bucket list forever. I got that jump as a gift from my hubby for my 36 BDay. I was really nervous all the days after booking the jump and before the actual jump. Also I had to sign the waiver and watch a video describing all the risks, which made me more nervous and anxious. However as soon as we came to the location, everyone was so reassuring and nice, those guys are so professional and funny, they calmed me down despite of my anxiety. I though I would spend there 4 hours - that was written in the confirmation email I believe. However it was much faster. We arrived, I got a short lesson with simple straight forward instructions, that actually everyone is able to follow for sure, and then we headed to the airplane. It is much better than waiting forever becoming even more nervous. The airplane is really small but i didn't feel any nausea or anything like that. A read a tip - not to look into the airplane windows, so I didn't and was focusing on the inside of the plane. There were 5 of us in the plane - the pilot, 2 instructors and 2 clients. I dont think that it was possible to fit anyone else into the plane. Then we gained the height and my instructor has opened the door. It was very windy and loud outside. Not cold at all though. He told me to put my left foot on a step outside of the plane, then my right foot. And then we just made that step out. There is nothing that can be compared to that feeling of the free fall part of the jump. It has nothing to do with roller coasters and water slides, it feels more like somebody is gently holding you, the air is holding you. The ground is so far away that you do not feel it is approaching fast. It is more like laying on an air bench looking into google maps. Then suddenly my instructor Luis opened the parachute. The parachute part of the jump was more relaxing in terms of knowing that the parachute is open, however I felt a little bit of nausea when we had those extreme roller coaster swings. I asked my instructor to stop those and he didn't do them any more. When the parachute is open you can chat with your instructor without any trouble, it is not too noisy. The landing was very smooth and nice. So it was an amazing experience! I had those euphoria feeling for a few days after the jump. It is lifelong memories for sure! This location does not look modern or fancy, but the staff are really professional, friendly and nice! Just trust those guys! The only tip I would suggest to someone who plans their first jump - dont plan in advance. If it is a gift - just tell about it the same day when the actual jump is scheduled. Otherwise the first time jumper can overthink all that. It is not so risky and not too scary, comparing to thinking about it in a few days in a row :) So many many thanks to Dallas skydive center and all the staff! And for someone who plans to sky dive... Very disappointed with the customer service here. We bought the video and pictures package for $120 to capture this crazy experience, but they were only able to provide the pictures.  The camera malfunctioned and they were unable to record the free fall.  Understandingly, things like this happen, however, they did not initiate a phone call or e-mail to let us know; we had to contact them two separate times to find out.  Furthermore, they are only refunding $31 out of $120 "per company policy" since video and pictures on their own are $89. The jump was great and the instructors were wonderful, but for such an expensive activity and pricey media package, definitely very disappointed that it wasn't captured better and that the situation wasn't handled better on their part. read more

So first let's be clear, the only reason I am giving this a 4 and not a 5 is due to the fact I didn't receive my photos as yet. Which by the way isn't a big deal but I am big on getting what you pay for in the time that was told to you. When I get the photos and videos I will be giving another review. Pros: Great staff, great customer service (I jumped with Luis, who by the way is A1, when I do go back I will be requesting to jump with him) he made the jump so relaxing (which is crazy, the thought of jumping out a plane ), instructions before the jump was a 10/10, and most importantly they stated the obvious and made you realize if you don't follow their commands while jumping, that may be your last jump. I was greeted with smiles, the lady at the front desk even checked up on me 5 mins before my appointment time. YOU MUST VISIT THIS PLACE!!!!!!! Cons: waiting process for my pics and vid(which by the way, they said it will take up to 1week for video and the pics 2 days) is this really a CON , for me it is because I can't wait to show off my pics and vids AMAZING TEAM!!!!!! read more

Great experience. Not that impressed with the company. Jumped on a clear Sunday afternoon with a group of friends. Wasn't sure if the waiver was all that standard, you basically sign all of your rights away to any type of litigation or compensation even if there's negligence on their part--as well as photo rights that they can use in promo materials without your consent. Not too big a fan about that since you can't jump without signing the document in 40 places. We were a bit late, so we had to wait about an hour to finally get suited up. My tandem guide Bobby had 10,000+ jumps, and while nice enough, definitely rushed through the whole thing without any real personal interaction. I didn't purchase the photo package, so ~95% of the photos he took with the GoPro didn't turn out. Kind of expected, but the other guide managed to get a pretty good set together that could have been tempting to buy. The plane holds four passengers, and since we were in a group of three, that meant our odd-man-out had to either wait for more people to show up, or pay an additional fee. We opted to wait, but it was a longer process than expected. From driving up to walking out, we were there for four hours. Overall, I loved jumping out of a perfectly good airplane at 13,000 feet. Would I jump with this company again? Probably not. There are a world of things that could have been improved to make the experience more enjoyable from the customer's perspective. There are choices out there people, take my advice and try another one. read more
