I attended the Dallas Stars vs. New York Rangers game in early-to-mid April with two friends - one local to Dallas and one a diehard Rangers fan. Me? I was mostly there because of them but I do like Jason Robertson... fellow cat enthusiast and all. And, he had a grrreat game. The Stars ended up winning and somewhere during the game I found myself dangerously close to becoming a Dallas Stars fan... until I remembered what they did to my beloved Buffalo Sabres in the '90s. Trauma aside, this was a great afternoon/evening! The arena atmosphere was great even if the escalators could use some TLC, the surrounding area around the venue seemed pretty lively and easy to navigate, and the fans near us were excellent - friendly, engaged, and fun despite the fact we were perched way (way) up in the nosebleeds. I'm also thrilled to add another NHL arena to my list. This was only my fourth NHL venue, so I've still got a long way to go, but this was definitely a memorable one. I have never watched hockey before. We went with a friend from Chicago to a Stars vs Blackhawks game and we had the best time. The fans were welcoming of the other team. The chants were cute of the Stars. The stadium was clean and the food was good. Great experience and I would highly recommend. read more

We came here for a company event and had a great time attending the game between the Dallas stars and the Nashville predators. Although the arena is a bit dated, we had a good crowd, and the suite food was very tasty. I look forward to come and watch another game again in the near future. read more

This is a 1 man team the last 3 games. Rantanen has scored 7 of the last 11 goals for this team. Him an him alone got this team into the second round. An he won the 1st game by himself. So where are these so called superstars. Rantanen does not score on game 2 because they basically double teamed him an what they get shutout. This goalie is never going to win a cup. The Dallas Stars are OK. Since the Stars joined the NHL in 1967, its all-time points percentage falls in the middle of the league's 31 active franchises. Hockey greatness! Great entertainment for the whole family! The Stars are a top team again and have tweaked the venue to make it entertaining for the whole family and not just the true hockey fans! The great things are the audio visual displays, the lighting, the special effects, the grand team introductions and entrance, the Ice Girls, the Zamboni wraps, the flying blimp dropping coupons, the many varied food and drink selections, the raffle, clean and inviting restrooms and great seating! The area staff are all exceptionally helpful, caring and friendly! My middle son had tickets and took us along with his almost 2 year old daughter. The youngster had a total blast at the game! She enjoyed yelling and clapping with the crowd even if she had no idea of why and was never bored. A few in the group wasn't interested in the game but enjoyed the crowd video moments be it kids or us oldsters dancing and having fun! The food was fantastic as we all got something different that we enjoyed. This was an exhibition game and the regulars didn't play much but is was fun watching the Stars youngsters put all they had into the game as they tried to make the team. It wasn't a high scoring game and the Stars spent a lot of time on defense. Looks like I now know who I can take with me for future games and my youngest granddaughter will be there with me! The Stars are Stanley Cup champions who won in 1999 against the Buffalo Sabres. The Stars are a very competitive team who are good at it and it shows on the ice. If you attend a Stars game get ready for loads of fun! The game has 3 twenty minutes periods with a 20 minute break in between periods. If the game is tied after the 3rd then there will be a 5 min overtime with 3 on 3 and the first team to score wins. If no one scores after overtime both teams will face a shootout! I have got to expierence both and wow its probaly one of the best expierences I have felt. The games are family fun and tickets are affordable in most cases. They usually play at 730pm or on weekends through out the day. The vibe is great and the fans are the best! Be prepared for large crowds wearing Victory Green and be prepared to scream Stars twice during the National Anthen! The season starts in October and last untill April and most of the time we make the playoffs and play through June. The roommate and I went to Dallas to visit a friend and watch our local basketball team play. Imagine my surprise when we found out the San Jose Sharks were playing the Dallas Stars the day before. We decided to go to the game on Monday, March 20th at 7:30pm. I believe tickets were only $16, so it was really a no brainer. So much cheaper than going to a home game for me. My group of four ended up sitting in Section 330, Row B, Seats 1-4. The view was great and the row in front of us was a little empty, so I actually moved down and ended up in the front row of the uppers. I did notice while watching the game, the arena itself was pretty empty. (Probably about half full?) Not sure if it's always like this, but it was a little odd as I'm used to a packed venue. I'm not sure if they gave out goodies, but I did see a bunch of people with hats. When I've gone to previous away games, I've gotten the freebies, so not sure why we didn't get any here. Oh well, it's not like I wanted a Dallas themed hat anyways, but it was more about the principle? Although the outcome of the game wasn't exactly what I wanted, I still had fun seeing the San Jose Sharks play the Dallas Stars. read more

So obviously I am a bit biased since I (at the time of this review) am a Season Ticket Holder. I am going to try to keep my review a bit realistic since I don't want to skew it too much. The arena is a lot of fun during the games, my friends from other cities have said that the Stars fans are a lot more tame than other cities (probably because its hockey in Texas...) but they do know how to get loud and make it fun. The people I have sat with during the games have been extremely friendly, I got to know my neighbors really quickly and everyone looks out for each other. No one is being hostile and no one shows any disrespect towards fans of other teams. The biggest let down is usually when we lose, which unfortunately has been a bit more prevalent this season. Otherwise, I really like the Dallas Stars and would support them in the future. Its a great sport for kids to go to and its great for a kid to get involved in. read more

The Dallas Stars notified us on Dec 25 that they were cancelling our December 28 Stars tickets because of an event cancellation. We submitted on that day for a refund. They sent written confirmation and said it could take up to 30 days to issue the refund. Now, nearly 30 days later, they advise they are rescheduling our tickets (an option we specifically did not elect) or we can submit for a refund! So, we are having to submit for a refund, which they can advise can take 30 days. Really? The tickets cost several hundred dollars. Feeling like the Stars are trying to delay and dodge a refund they committed to give weeks ago. No longer a fan! read more

High entertainment factor at the Dallas Stars game! The pre-game and opener were a multi media rock show. The lights and video are beautifully designed. The sound is deep and clear. And the game itself is super exciting and fun to watch! We sat up on the third level and had no issues with visibility. Tyler Seguin scored back to back goals in the second period. The national anthem by Celena Rae was the best I've ever heard live at a sporting event. My only gripe is the food is priced nonsensically high. $9 for a 12 oz Bud Light. They do it because they *can*. But eh, I'll drink from the fountain and save my $9 for a six pack of a beer I like. Next time I might sneak some snacks in. I'm a rebel, I know. If you have not been to a Stars game, go! Immediately! The atmosphere is absolutely amazing and the entertainment is so worth it. They have fantastic media that will keep you laughing and when they score a goal the awesome unison crowd reaction/cheer will have you hooked. We have only been in Dallas for 3 months and bought season tickets after attending only a couple games because we had so much fun and the atmosphere was so electric. My brother is a huge Dallas Stars fan, and I grew up in Dallas. So...I grew up with the Dallas Stars. Games on the TV, games in the arena, memorabilia all over the house, etc. In December 2017, when I was home in Dallas for the holidays, my brother took my dad and I to a game (they were playing my current city's team - the Nashville Predators), and we had such a great time. Compared to some other teams' fans and arena atmosphere, Dallas Stars games are definitely more wholesome, family-friendly, and lighthearted fun (the people that run the media for the games definitely don't take things too seriously). I'm not the usual person to hark on "wholesomeness," but I've been to some NHL games recently that were unpleasant because the fans were so rude to opposing team players and fans of the opposing team. Going to a Dallas Stars game isn't like that. This was such nostalgic fun for me, it reminded me of going to games with my brother when we were in high school more than 10 years ago. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the game we saw was a W in shootouts after the score remained a tie after overtime! What a game! I always enjoy myself when going to a game. The arena is really nice and the location is even better. The do a good job of the graphics, music, camera-work, and such to ensure everyone knows what is going on. One thing I've noticed is that the stadium is never full. Probably because, even though I greatly enjoy myself, I would *never* pay the full price of a ticket to come here. I get mine through work for free on occasion. I want to go more often. There is apparently a new rule about not having small purses in the building. This would be understandable if they were consistent with it, but we were told that our tiny purses were not allowed in as we watched larger purses go through right by us. The security guard replied "well that's not my door to guard" when we addressed it. We also saw many purses once we were inside. I'm fine with the rule, but it needs to be consistent and advertised more like cowboys stadium. read more

Went to the Dallas Stars game on new year's eve against the LA Kings. I love that the Stars play at the American Airline Center rather than all the way in Arlington with many of the other Dallas sports teams. This was my second Stars game and each time, they were a lot of fun to watch. This game we had tickets all the way at the top and yet we could see the game very well. The players weren't ants, we could keep track of the puck, and having mid-rink tickets gave us great viewing no matter the period. Can't wait to go back again! read more

I visited from 2/8-2/12 and saw two Stars games. This was my second trip to Dallas, a place I really love. The AAC is a fantastic facility where the staff are super friendly and helpful. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is the the lights under the scoreboard that flash in your eyes and the arena lighting that flashes during play. If you sit directly in the path of these lights it is disturbing. Otherwise a great time! read more

I went to the Stars game becuase a friend gave me free tickets that a co-worker could not use. The game was great. Dallas is spoiled by its great arena. That said, I would not have gone if the tickets were not free: the price of tickets is ridiculously high, especially considering the seemingly cool hockey market in Dallas. It's like the owner never took econ. 101. Lower ticket prices gets butts in seats; the real money comes from the concessions, which are ridiculously high-priced. 1st NHL hockey game I've been to, and it was a great experience. Tickets were very reasonable, even bought second hand online, and the game was a lot of fun. The venue is very nice and feels clean and new, and views are just fine even from the nosebleeds. I had no problem following the puck from a few rows from the very back and the sound system was good and clear as well. Lots of activities and stuff going on on the ice in between periods and it was a fantastic game as well. I'd definitely recommend catching a Stars game if you're here during one! read more
