We are so happy with the repairs/renovations that Pero/Dalmation Tile did for our master bathroom shower area! He replaced our old and cracked ceramic tile with beautiful porcelain in the shower and window shelf areas; added a safety bar; replaced the flooring outside the shower; replaced shower fixtures; replaced shower drain to drain better; and replaced the light fixture on the ceiling. Unfortunately this person works with a shady contractor in Santa Clara and this review is more a reflection of his partner Ken M from Santa Clara. Besides hiding an obvious re-piping job the tile looks fine. However, between general contractor Ken Maggi and Pero they left the bathroom a mess. No refresh paint or anything. Ken Maggi reused super old supplies. The tile floor looks good in a house and bathroom that look like poop. It's not Pero's fault that he got caught up doing a slum lord and his dirty general contractor a favor. It just cost him a negative review this time. I don't think Pero is like Ken Maggi and Tom Block but that's giving him the benefit of the doubt. read more

We just completed a remodel of both of our 2 bathrooms, a hallway and a small ensuite that was long overdue. My in-laws used Pero a while ago so we gave him a ring. He gave us a very competitive bid, we found him very honest and trustworthy throughout the process. I will say he is a man of little words, it's kind of like sure "no problem, we'll take of it" and he did. The quote wasn't a line item quote, but it all lined up correctly. He also finished the project on the expected timeline outside of a piece of glass that was held up. It's a little losey goosey in how it all goes down, but we had no issues with the project, end result, or price. Also we kept adding things like closing off one closet and expanding our bedroom closet. Fixing a loud water pipe and improving water flow, etc...it was all..."no problem, we take care of it". read more

My father was a skilled negotiatior, a talent for which he prided himself. That said, he once told me he had trouble negotiating with contractors because you couldn't bribe them to do a good job. To him, they did their work, well or otherwise, almost as if the money didn't matter. That taught me judging a contractor's character was as important as determining their skill set. From the moment I met Pero I was taken with his confidence, serious committment to his craft, directness and interest in accomodating the customer. As one gets to know him, it can be intriguing to learn about this batmaweight tile man who speaks five or six langauge, has traveled much of the world and prefers the simple taste of beer to wine or distilled spirits. Pero and his warm, if diffident employee, Hector, went about their task courteoulsy and efficiently, during this recent heat wave with little complaint. Pero also offered suggestions which certainly added to what is now the signature element of the exterior of my home. The true testament to Pero's work (and Hector's) is viewing photos Pero will happily show you. I can only add an enthuisatic recommendation of Dalmationa Tile and a sincere thank you. It would remiss of me if I didn't acknoweldge Scott Turner of CR Tile and Granite who had the vision to bring what proved to be the very fast and untilmately perfect tile to my attention, as well as my General Contractor (and one of my very favorite persons), Jay Johnson, of Johnson Construction, who watches over every aspect of the refurbishing and taught me to treat it as a project rather than just a job. We have used Dalmatian Tile a few times over the past several years. This review is definitely overdue. We are very pleased with his work, his work ethics, his flexibility and overall his price. Our most recent job was a complete bathroom remodel. We wanted to remove the bathtub and convert it to a shower with additional safety features for aging residents. The result was excellent. Pero suggested places where we could select good quality materials at a reasonable price. He cleans up the place very well at the end of the day. His partner Hector is an excellent craftsman as well. In addition to the 2 big remodel jobs, I call on Pero to do some minor repairs around the house like fixing the kitchen faucet, replacing garbage disposal, hanging my curtain rods etc. He is skilled in multiple areas of home remodeling and repair. I have referred him to my neighbor and she is very pleased with her bathroom job as well. My other neighbor is working on getting quotes for 3 bathrooms. His success has definitely been through referrals. Thank you Pero for doing such great job and also for being readily available to do the small fixes around my house. You're awesome. read more

This is well overdue, first I thought that I will refrain from further negativity regarding this experience, but then I think that the whole point of this site is to enforce quality and provide feedback on services received. Pero worked on our Master Bathroom this July, 2016. We are very NOT happy with Pero's work, quality and attitude. We had experience with remodel before, so this is not our first time and we understand the process, but we never had such Negative, Stressful and Nerve-racking experience as we did with Pero. Be aware in order to get quality, you need to constantly monitor Pero's work and check that he does not have other projects on the side, because Pero is a very BAD multitask-er. In order to complete one of the projects to which we agreed - my husband had to work from home and make sure that Pero works on what he told us he would work on prior day and does not lie, and to monitor his quality. Afterword, we decided not to pursue any further work with Pero and hired a different person to complete remaining projects (which was a completely opposite experience for same price point) This is probably a cliché, but it is well known that remodel can be a super stressful experience, but I believe that if dealing with a good honest professional person this can be avoided. Pero is NOT such person. Here are the details: My husband and I hired Pero for the following projects and (gave him 30% deposit in advance) with agreement that he will start work on specific week and will allocate time to finish 4 projects which we mutually agreed on: 1) Full demolition and remodel our Master Bathroom (note: there was a misunderstanding about scope of work, but we clarified additional items prior to start, adjusted price to pay for it, and told Pero that since this change impact the overall project(s) timeline, he could finish projects #3 and #4 at a different time if he has other jobs lined up and needs to work on) 2) Full demolition and remodel our Hall Bathroom 3) Add Backsplash in the Kitchen 4) Add window in our guest bedroom Pero started as planned with 1 helper on work on our Master bathroom. Pero leaves very close to our house, but most of the time he came after 9am and left before 3pm. He constantly created excuses why he had to leave early, and in the middle of the project left for 3 days - to work elsewhere. He created constant Stress - by making almost everything into an issue - "We have a Problem" what he would constantly say about basic staff that he should know how to work on/resolve, if he were a Professional. He was constantly in a hurry, the work that he did was sloppy and lacked quality. He showed lack of respect to us and lied about obvious things that were on the open to us. We had to check everything and on many occasion told him that he has to re-do fix what he did (ex: tiles were crooked and sticking out, mosaic accents in the shower had sharp edges and were not sanded, etc.). In one case he promised that we would fix what we discussed face-to-face and he agreed to fix the next day, but the next day he did NOT show up at all, and his Helper grouted that same area w/o even knowing that Pero had to fix it. When we called him, he told us that he was at our house, but could not provide legitimate excuse why he did not fix what he promised. (My daughter who was at the house during the day - told us that he was not around during the day, only his helper). After Pero finally "finished" our Master Bathroom, we had NO hot water in the shower, because Pero did not check if it worked as he put the faucet a week before. Additionally, Pero never took any measures to clean up after himself; our Bedroom and full house was covered with Dust, our garage was filled with garbage for the duration of the remodel. He did take out garbage from garage day that he finished, but did not even clean Master Bath from dirt and dust. read more

I got a referral from a co-worker on Pero's work quality. He has done multiple households due to good referrals. He has been great to work with!! Easy going and his tile work is excellent, even my granite guy commented on the great quality. All his sub cons have done great work as well. He is currently doing 2 of our bathrooms. They go the extra mile if he sees something else that needs TLC, he has his guys just fix it. (the drywall guy was great but did get some product on my furniture..old so no biggie). I couldn't be happier!!!!! Will definitely use him for the rest of our household projects. read more

Pero installed my master bathroom tile a combination of ceramic tile floors, decorative tiles and travertine stone replacing my outdated fiberglass shower insert.... . He was great to work with. I picked several samples of tile for both floor, wall wainscot and shower wainscoting from tile vendors he recommended. Pero then worked side by side with me on design of floor and shower install , and when I found a complex tile pattern off the web he installed it with no problem at all. Overall very satisfied with the workmanship and quality. Everyday since the shower was installed I truly looked forward to both the look and feel of my bathroom. read more

Pero is very responsible, responsive and quick, always provides advice on materials and options where to buy. His subcontractors also provide quality work: electrical, plumbing. We remodeled our small bathroom and Pero always showed up on time every morning as promised and finished the project on time in one week and on budget as agreed upon. I would have preferred him to be more detail oriented at times and pay more attention to what I requested or suggested on some occasions to avoid a couple of mistakes in the process, but he took care of the missteps and that didn't affect the timeline or budget of the project. Overall, great detail on the tiling. Our bathroom looks wonderful. Definitely recommend him for remodeling services. read more

Wow! We are very pleased with the work that Dalmatian Tile did in our bathroom. Pero was very responsive, dependable, and skillful. Pero had a "can do" attitude, as did his right hand person Hector. Both men have pleasant personalities and are very motivated to get the job in a very timely manner. There was not much sitting around because they knew they had a job to do and understood we needed it done by a certain day. We trusted Pero to select the grout color and it matched perfectly with the tile. We also felt that Pero did not over charge for his great work either. Workmanship was not of good quality in the cleaning of tile and grout. He cleaned 2 commercial bathrooms grout repair,( which was nicely done),acid washed,and resealed. The acid wash process his crew did not cover or protect any of the chrome or stainless fixtures and consequently the acid ruined pitted and rusted everything. He replaced the chrome fixtures (faucets, toilet paper dispenser, but said the stainless paper towel dispenser, handicap grab bar etc. does not get ruined from the acid wash by which is still very rusted and looks bad. He did his best to correct the problem but I would not hire him again I would expect them to be more cautious and know what needed to be done in preparation before they started the project. The tile grout did not come very clean and actually looks worse. Was hoping for a better job. read more

Pero, owner of Dalmation Tile, is a pleasure to have work in your home. He oversaw the remodel of our kitchen. He has a great eye for color ( you don't need a designer with his sense of color ). He is VERY fair in his pricing. In fact, I had picked out very costly tile & he found a similiar one for me at significantly less cost. When we had a problem with the oven installation, he was persistent in correcting it. He is a very hard worker. The granite was beautifully & flawlessly installed. He never eats on the job. He is professional on the job. Despite repeated offers of coffee, cookies, all he would drink was pomegranite juice. He, also, completed the job in a timely manner.
