I had about four porcelain tiles that needed to be replaced and the grout fixed. Within less than 12 hours (I submitted my search request late Saturday night and got a call about 9am the next morning), Julian reached out and offered to help. I explained what we wanted to have done and he reassured me that it was something he felt comfortable doing, and then waited patiently for me to send him some pictures to provide an accurate quote and to address any other concerns I might have. I followed up the next morning with the pictures, and he confirmed how much the project would be, and we scheduled an appt for the next morning. I appreciated that he already had a plan in place to be extra safe with Covid precautions. The morning of our appt, he was communicative of when he would be arriving, took a look at the exact work that needed to be done, explained his plan in detail, and started right away. I had errands to run, but felt comfortable with taking off - leaving my husband to answer any questions he might have. He did an amazing job! He was thorough and made sure that he left our floor in a much better position than before he began. Honestly, I knew the people who had done the initial work weren't the most credible (were used by our landlord), so I really appreciate that Julian not only did the work that I requested, but took the time to fix the other team's errors to avoid more problems in the future. This act of honesty is a huge deal and why I wanted to leave a review: he could've simply patched up the work, knowing that the tiles would break again, ensuring more work from him in the future, but he made it a point to do the right thing. Service is consistently approachable and friendly, which is very hard to find in the home improvement industry. This store is expansive, clean, and much easier to shop than all the other independent tile places. Easy process to buy and return samples, plenty of selection, and you can shop at your own pace with all the information well presented on each item. Prices are very reasonable, plus there's lots of clearance options also available if you're on a tight budget. Special shout out to Don, who was super helpful with tile mosaics. He immediately took us to exactly the color/style/size of tile we were looking for, gave insightful comments, and placed tiles next to each other to help us imagine different combinations for our project.

They have a variety of tile selections and most of them were imported from Italy or Spain which with better quality there's less yield loss, hence you can buy less. Some of the special priced items have longer lead times, so make sure you double check with them. We didn't enjoy the process as much as with other shops because of 3 reasons. First of all, our sales contact was quite unavailable on the weekends or even Friday afternoons, so we had a hard time scheduling with her. But if you just walk in and ask for help from the front desk, they will assign someone to help. The second issue we found was the inconsistency of product introductions. We were worried about slippery tiles in the shower, our sales contact suggested us to focus on the tiles that have a special coating. The second sales person we talked to said the special coating was only for outdoor use, using the gauge lines between tiles is good enough to prevent slipping. Thirdly, after we got the quote, we couldn't place the order into the system with our contractor's discount; only that appointed sales person could do. Luckily we could get the rest of the process done via email and she sent out a link for me to make payment. If you have a Rakuten cash back app and pay online, I think you get the cash back as well.
