Went to Damashkey for a business lunch and was impressed overall. The space is clean and casual and the food was quick to come out. For starters we ordered the babaghanoush and falafels. Both were really good! The falafels are formed in a donut shape which give them more surface area for a better crunch! For my main I ordered the chicken sharawma plate which came with a healthy portion of chicken, rice, and hummus along with salad and some extra pita. The chicken was super flavorful and tender and the hummus was extremely fresh. The rice was a nice addition, but was honestly too much to finish. Their side sauces were solid too, my favorite was the garlic. My only wish was that the spicy sauce was more spicy! Was more of a spicy jam vs a hot sauce but was good nonetheless. My boyfriend and I had takeout, and we both really enjoyed our meals! We did not order the hummus this time because we knew that the meal itself would be extremely filling, and it was! Food is great! However - Placed an online order, which was never received by the business, despite having the charge present on my credit card and having submitted the order fully. Was told "this happens often" and that the charge will be refunded in a couple of days. Took about 25 minutes to make the order that I was going to pick up right away. :/ Also, the hours written are wrong - they open at 2PM. Talk about a hidden gem! They did everything right when bringing this restaurant together. It's a well-designed, stylish space tucked into this non-descript strip mall. 2 of us shared the mixed appetizer plate and the mixed kebab plate and everything was plated beautifully and tasted amazing. And for such a nice plating, it was put together and served in no time. Counter service Mediterranean in the far Northern suburbs that serves Syrian inspired Mediterranean flavors. I have only tried the vegetarian fare and while the dishes were fresh (Hummus, Falafel, Dolma), flavors were on the bland side. Prices are on the higher side for counter service and the plates are inconsistent (a small side of Pita with the $13 vegan combo, a lettuce heavy salad with a sweet dressing, a single dolma). Overall, an ok option if you are in the neighborhood. read more

Food was outstanding! We had the humus topped shawarma, one chicken and one beef. Both were excellent, I personally prefer chicken. The beet salad was also very good, along with the pita bread. Baklava for dessert gets. 5* as well. We will be back! read more

My fav is the definite the Damashkey plate! Chicken thigh was so juicy and the potatoes carrots are so well cooked so soaked with flavors! We actually love the thin pita bread! Slightly toasted fresh pita bread enhanced the flavor of the dish so much! I enjoyed the meal so much I had to order again for more food and things to take home with! Falafel wrap and hummus were so great! Baba ghanouj is so different than what I had before but the smoky flavor added so much flavor to it! I love it! The Turkish coffee is delicious! The Arabic coffee is also good, more acidic and brighter, but the Turkish is rich and robust, what I like in a cup. Watch out for the grinds and bits of sand, though! Service is spectacular, as always. read more

Noticed this place while driving home. Decided to come back at a later date and try it out. It's not the cheapest food, but my god is it delicious.. You don't feel bad about eating it either. Ordered a pair of Greek salads with beef shawarma, falafel, a side of hummus, and baklava. First time ordering and wanted to sample as much as possible. The salads were well constructed, but very underdressed to the point of being dry. Not sure if it was pre-dressed or they just forgot the dressing for a carryout order. The beef shawarma was very dry, it's texture resembling beef jerky. The bread provided with the hummus was thin and dry. The hummus however was very good. The falafel was excellent, crunchy on the outside and moist inside with great flavor. I know they've only been open a week, but the beef shawarma was a huge let down. Will give them another try at lunch for the falafel in a wrap or sandwich. read more

It was nice to try a new local restaurant but I felt it was a bit expensive for the area. The portion sizes are decent and the food was good but not excellent. The hummus was VERY good and flavorful. The falafel were a decent size and tasty as well. The bread is very thin and the pita chip portion size was small. The baklava was dry and not as sweet as usual. I don't love the lay out of the restaurant and the tea/dessert area is a waste of space. The counter is not an ideal way to order and receive your food. The food came out quickly and was hot and fresh but we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. We will be back! read more

I have been there twice and both times I ended up ordering the baba ganoush and the falafel with hummus. They are so delicious! The baba ganoush has a smoky, garlicky, delicious eggplant flavor and texture. Their falafel is the best I've ever had. The hummus is plentiful and delicious. I highly recommend this place. The food was great and the restaurant was pretty BUT I was not thrilled with the interior layout. I loved the look in general but the chairs could stand to be a bit more comfy. Also, how the front counter was set up seemed a little counter intuitive. The register was right next to the cooking area. I had to repeat my order and ask questions multiple times because the cashier could barely hear me. Maybe move the register to a more quiet area away from the loud food prep area. Aside from those minor gripes this place gets my glowing review for great food. Get it to go, you'll be more comfy at home enjoying it. read more

My friend and I stayed to chat and the owner (I assume) asked if all was well since I had so much left.
