Whenever that happens, this is the place we trust. Tammy is always extremely helpful when it comes to selecting the right glasses for him. She is knowledgeable and understands how to recommend frames that are practical for an active child. Most recently, my son's teacher noticed he was struggling to see the board in class. During his eye exam, we learned that his nearsightedness had worsened significantly. We asked whether it might be possible to replace his lenses quickly so he could return to school the next day able to see clearly. Although they had a number of customers ahead of us, Cesar and Tammy worked hard to accommodate us. For peace of mind on your next pair of glasses, Dan Deutch is the place to go. I've had great experiences at both their Beverly Hills shop on Bedford and the one in Studio City. Last month I purchased some Thierry Lazry glasses with the feature where they darken in the sun (not sure what that's called). Anyway, when I received the glasses, they didn't darken, so I went back in. Without hesitation they apologized profusely (the sign of a good business is admitting mistakes) and within a few days they called with the fixed lenses. Problem solved. I recently bit the bullet and decided I needed progressive lenses and some updated frames. So, of course I went to Lens Crafters. I found a pair of frames that were about $300. After putting in my prescription and adding all the bells and whistles, $300 became $1600, for one pair. I don't mind paying for quality, especially when it comes to my vision. But the woman at Lens Crafters couldn't explain anything to me. When I asked about the differences in prices for different materials and different types of lenses she just kept saying "It's like seeing in HD...don't you want to see in HD?" I walked out instantly on this stupid comment. A friend who is an optician that lives out of town told me I should try Dan Deutsch. I went to the Studio City location and was greeted by Tammie. I instantly found many great frames. Many of which are hand crafted and more stylish and lighter than the garbage at Lens Crafters. Tammie took lots of time to explain how progressives are different and the difference in prices for various options. She even had a frame couriered over from another shop so I could see that color frame. I ended up buying 3 pairs that I totally love. Here's the deal- I paid a bit less than what Lens Crafters was quoting per pair, and I got far superior products and service from Dan Deutsch. Before I ventured in to Dan Deutsch Optical Outlook I was one of those people that thought I could not adapt to progressives. I had a pair from Lens Crafters several years back and religiously wore them for 3 weeks but still felt like I wasn't seeing properly and occasionally I would still get that weird feeling where the depth isn't quite right and you feel like you're stepping on the ground but it's not. Yeah, those VERY EXPENSIVE from Lens Crafters with "the best lenses" etc., sat in a drawer for years while I bought reader after reader and went through my life not realizing how much I was missing. That's until Tammy helped me pick out frames and lenses and swore to me that I would have no trouble adapting -- she was SO CONFIDENT it was CONTAGIOUS. I was VERY hesitant. I got Lindberg frames (they are so light you forget you are wearing glasses at all) and took Tammy's recommendations on the lenses, etc. She told me that if I didn't adapt to them, they would re-do them to a bifocal or single prescription "no problem." The day I went to pick up my glasses, Tammy tried them on my face in the store and I was in SHOCK. I could see perfectly!! I had no idea what I had been missing. I can see detail! I can seamlessly transfer from driving to reading the instruments of my car up close! I can see a ladybug on a leaf in my garden! My glasses are so comfortable I have to remind myself not to fall asleep in them. I get COMPLIMENTS on my glasses ALL THE TIME. I could not be happier. There's a lot of exclamation points in this review because I can't stress enough how happy I am that I went to Dan Deutsch and met Tammy! First, they have a really great selection of eyewear. Many are pricey, but the store is not overcharging for them. Second, I'm in my 60s and have been wearing glasses most of my life. I expect my lenses to be perfect, and I know when they're not. Unfortunately, it's not always quick and easy to get it right, especially when I used to have my optometrist send my frames to the VSP lab to save a few bucks. The optometrist's prescription could be off; the optician might mark up the pupillary distance incorrectly; the lense manufacturer could have a weird pattern to their progressive lenses that you end up not liking; the lab could make a mistake; the lab might have poor quality control and miss a nick or scratch. Thankfully, Tammie and this DD store are fully committed to getting it right. Thoroughly professional, patient, informative, friendly -- a very uncommon retail experience these days. This week I again picked up new glasses from Dan Deutsch Studio City. I have been getting my glasses from this shop almost exclusively for several years now. They always have an incredible and varied selection of frames. As a company, they support their clientelle and product. When at the beginning of the pandemic I had an accident and thought I had broken my glasses beyond repair, they made arrangements for me to curbside drop off the glasses so they could be assessed....and luckily for me, repaired. Also noteable, most all of the staff have been talented stylists. I'm reviewing this year because I wanted to recognize Tammie, who yet again, has made the process so much fun! (Picking glasses can be overwhelming....particularly when there are so many wonderful designs to choose from.) She has assisted me now for a number of years and always manages to help me select the most perfect frames for my face and those reflective of my personality. What amazing customer service. My clubmaster cateye ray ban lenses smashed for some tragic reason and because that line of shades has been discontinued i scrummaged to find a place that would replace them. Alas, Optical Outlook to the rescue. I called in, they got all my information for the glasses over the phone they ordered the replacement lenses from Italy after taking a deposit and promised to call me as soon as they arrived. Not even a week later Sophia called me to tell me that my lenses were ready and waiting for pickup. Sophia was very welcoming, warm and friendly. She was efficient and fast. 2 Weeks ago on a Sunday late afternoon, I was in a mad rush to find a place that could fix the nose pads on my glasses which broke off. Not only were these glasses my prescription glasses, I needed them for a shoot early morning the next day. "Your eyes are your windows to the world." Some people go to a store others have a relationship! Thirteen years ago, Ihad the misfortune of having ocular melonoma in one eye. After the surgery, I had limited vision in one eye. At UCLA's Stein Eye Center, I had to get all new glasses with new prescriptions....fortunately for me Dan Deutsch was on the first floor and gave me great advice and assistance in choosing my new eye wear. Now flash forward, 13 years later and while I'm still in Studio City, so is Dan The Man! I've gotten updates on all my prescriptions here over the years and now Tammy helped me get new "reader-sunglasses". She's very helpful and smart and answered all my questions before I got my new glasses. So as I said, I have a "relationship" with this company and today I was lucky enough to meet "Dandy Dan" in person. He'd be the first to tell you whatever you optical needs or wants, he has all the styles and an optician in house to help you. This place is incredible! I took my somewhat uncommon glasses in for repair after calling several other places that didn't know what to do or wouldn't help me because I hadn't bought them there. Tammie knew exactly where to send my glasses. She also was accurate about how long it would take and the cost. (So often things takes days or weeks longer than what you're told, but not this time.)
