    Reissmann Plumbing & Heating

    Reissmann Plumbing & Heating

A couple of months ago, an early cold snap necessitated turning on the heat in our new home. I…read moretasked The Man with getting the boiler fired up. In his haste, he unknowingly pulled a lever he shouldn't have before realizing that he needed to light the pilot to get things going. Unaware of what lay ahead, we settled in for a good night's sleep. Upon waking the next morning, we leisurely enjoyed the Saturday sunlight streaming through the windows before getting out of bed. The first indication of a problem was a lack of water pressure when The Man went to shower. The second indication was the several inches of water filling the lower level of the house when he went to check the water heater. Being completely new to the area, we asked the neighbors if they had a plumber they recommended - and it ended up being Reissmann. As it was still fairly early, we didn't have much hope that we could get someone out to the house for a while, but the person who answered the phone said that he would be there in an hour. To our surprise, we saw a van pull up our driveway less than a hour after we placed the initial call. The young man who came to rescue us was incredibly nice. It turns out he was at the doctor when we called (he was battling a cold), but came over as soon as he finished his appointment. Despite being under the weather, he kindly helped us pump the water out of our utility room before examining the boiler, water heater, and water softener for any damage. The Man ran out to get a wet/dry vac while the plumber worked to repair a defective part in the boiler and clear as much water as he could from the gas lines. Because it was a weekend, an emergency call surcharge applied to the visit, we figured he would take his sweet time doing the work to milk as much money out of us as possible. This was not the case at all. While he did what he could, the plumber explained to us that it would take hours to completely dry out the gas lines and cost us an absurd amount of money to do. He advised us that it would be better for us to air out the room over the weekend and call on Monday to have someone come reconnect everything for us. Because there was another part that needed replacing that he didn't have with him, we would need another visit anyway. His honesty would save us a good chunk of change. We agreed with his suggestion, and he completed the work he was able to do before cleaning up his equipment and heading out. On Monday, we were able to schedule an appointment for someone to come out to replace the other part and reconnect our gas line. The gentleman who came out for that job was also very professional, making sure that he explained the work he was doing and completing it quickly and efficiently. He signed off on the loyalty card we had received over the weekend, so we could continue to earn towards a free service. Our boiler has worked well since their visits - very important considering how cold it's been so far! Overall, we were very pleased with the service we received from Reissmann. Their employees have all been courteous, efficient, and happy to explain the work they were doing so we would understand everything we were being charged for. We definitely plan to give them a call when it's time to service our well or if we have any other plumbing issues.

I would recommend that you do not use this plumber…read more I had them install a new steam boiler 8 years ago. Now the boiler developed a leak. Asked them to take a look and they refused. I had a licensed plumber that's an expert in steam boilers, take a look and they found that the boiler needs to be entirely replaced. Reissman refuses to own up to anything that they did. That's $11k down the drain. What's even more frustrating is the level of customer service. Debbie, the person who handles the phones is outright rude. She lies about what the warranty says when it clearly says something else.

I contacted them regarding a furnace issue that, while intermittent, was serious enough to require attention--especially during the winter months. We have a young child at home, and I made that very clear, along with my concerns about maintaining consistent heat in the house. Their technicians came out multiple times and were unable to diagnose or fix the problem. After several unsuccessful visits, the owner got involved. Initially, he was professional and appeared committed to resolving the issue. However, once it became clear that they couldn't fix the problem, everything changed. Communication completely stopped. No follow-ups. No updates. No accountability. During this time, we repeatedly expressed serious concerns--not just about comfort, but about safety. We were dealing with unreliable heat in the middle of winter, had a young child at home, and even communicated concerns about our pipes potentially freezing while we were away on vacation. Despite this, we were essentially given the runaround and the issue remained unresolved. It's also important to note that the manufacturer was only brought in after we specifically requested it, following multiple unsuccessful service visits by their technicians and the owner. Ultimately, the problem was not fixed by Ryan & Company, but only after the manufacturer became directly involved. That distinction matters. Despite having an active maintenance contract, they stopped sending technicians altogether. The owner refused to speak with me directly to address the situation. Instead of standing behind their service or working toward a resolution, the contract was canceled and a check was mailed for the remaining balance--without any meaningful discussion. To be clear, that cancellation came after repeated failed repair attempts, lack of resolution, and a complete breakdown in communication--not as some isolated or voluntary request. I also strongly disagree with their claim that I was "verbally abusive." Like any homeowner dealing with an ongoing heating issue in the winter--with a child in the home and legitimate concerns about frozen pipes--I was understandably frustrated. Expressing that frustration does not equate to abuse. What's most concerning is the lack of accountability and the way this situation was handled once it became difficult. After years of being a paying customer, this is how they chose to respond. If a company can't fix a problem, that's one thing. But abandoning a long-time customer, cutting off communication, and deflecting blame is unacceptable. In the end, when things got difficult, they didn't fix the problem--they walked away from it.
