There was one miscommunication regarding an item listed on the estimate that was not included in the final project. It listed that the permit and inspection with LADBS was included, which was why I went with them, but afterward Vilyam said that was a mistake. I did not confirm it before they started the job, so I will take responsibility for that. It was easy to obtain the permit and inspection on my own, so it wasn't a big deal.

Spark Electric exceeded in my expectations of customer service. The power in my home went out on…read moreone side of the house. I checked the 48 year old electrical box and to my dismay there was t a tripped switch. So I called the DWP up and in a few hours they sent out their service guy and he found the problem as a faulty switch. His name was Dirk and he told me to find a good electrician to address the situation. So I went to Mr Google as usual and requested the top 5 best electricians in my area and came up with Spark Electrical. Worst time in the world to have electrical problems in your home during the holidays and the wind and what is called atmospheric. In other words heavy rain, wind and floods. So I need power. The receptionist at Sparks told me a gentleman named Oriane would call me shortly. In just 10 minutes Oriane called me and after discussing my situation said he was about to finish up a job and that he would slide me in a visit to my house before his next appointment. In about 20 minutes he appeared at my door. This is where I was pleasantly surprised with how Oriene handled the situation. He said the DWP guy was correct that it was a switch that was the culprit and it needed to be replaced. Unfortunately this old electrical box needed an old switch replacement that he didn't have in his truck but he had it at his office and stated he would get it and come back later to replace the errant switch. I asked if I needed to pay a service call and he said not until it was fixed. I in the past have had trouble with unscrupulous electricians. So in dealing with Sparks and Oriene it was refreshing to do business with an electrician who was on time, knowledgeable , exceedingly polite, and trustworthy. He said the DWP guy Dirk was correct with his work I did have enough amps to keep my home lights operating, but the switch would still need to be replaced and he would be back to take care of it. He promised, and I accepted him as a man of his word and for now on as my go to electrician. Thanks to Sparks Electric and Oriene for making their honest, and trustworthy business the place to call when you have an electrical problem. I do know that my ancient electrical box might be needed an upgrade down the road. He said right now just changing the problem switch would be all I need. You can be sure if I update my electrical box Sparks Electric and Oriene will be the folks I call. Nice to have a reputable electrician in the community.

I had provided image and video of the circuit panel and confirmed that the electrician would show up on site with the replacement part -- electrician arrived without part. No estimate was provided, the electrician went offsite, purchased the part, returned much later, and resolved the issue quickly. I mean, it was just a circuit replacement -- the actual approval request and estimate was sent 3 days after job completion. 3 weeks after the job was completed I'm asked by Mike why I haven't approved the job, and why I haven't paid, when this is the first time I received a payment link! When I asked Mike why I wasn't given an estimate and approval request prior to job completion he said the onus is on the customer to request, again, or the electrician assumes approval and proceeds. Price was discounted as a result. So, in summary, good at a simple repair, really poor communication to understand a client's problem with most of the emphasis on what time slot are you available for the electrician to get onsite and start charging you.
