I had a PC that was overheating and needed some recommendation on parts, Dan came to the conclusion that the mini itx case that i was using wasnt getting enough airflow with no real fan intake and a closed off design. He helped me find a new case as well as some nice upgraded components, he transplanted the pc into the new case and there was an immediate difference in temp. Dan did a great job helping me migrate a bunch of scattered data from an old finicky Mac on it's last legs to a new rocket fast I-Mac. I may have been able to migrate some of the data on my own, but it was reassuring to have an expert running the show. Now I am triple backed up with a back up hard drive, and on the cloud. 10,000 photos are now secured forever!!! He also quickly set up a new cable modem and wireless router for me......now I am blazing from website to website with a lightning fast new computer system while streaming video all throughout my house on three TVs. He told me what hardware to buy, and what not to buy (there are so many competing products out there who would know what kind of router is the best?). Now I am blazing at 181Mbs (before we did the upgrade I was lucky if I ever got over 25Mbs). Also, Dan was very flexible with my schedule and fit me in very quickly when I needed him. I found Dan on Yelp and I'm very happy I did. My computer wouldn't start and I hadn't backed up my data in a couple of months. Dan came to our house with mask on (COVID times) and picked up my hard drive to try to back up my data and troubleshoot the issue. Turns out that the latest Microsoft update was causing my system to crash. Dan was able to back up all my files/pictures/data and reinstalled Windows 10. After setting up my system again and after mentioning to him that my son was having some connectivity issues with his gaming computer, he recommended that I purchase a separate router to provide a better signal. He also had a 5 GHz adapter that he provided to plug into my hard drive to improve the WiFi connection. I have my computer back and my son is so happy he can successful game again. Holy SMOKES. I asked Dan Rubin to come out and see if he could tweak our internet connection speed. We've got MonkeyBrains, but I was still getting only 0.1 Mbps download and 1.1 upload on my computer, and my wife wasn't getting much better than that on her pad. I figured Dan would say we needed a new router (ours is a 802.11.n, about 5 or 6 years old). Instead, within about 25 minutes, he switched the channels of the existing router, woke up a dormant antenna, did some fine tuning, and all of a sudden I've got 40.3 Mbps down and 53.1 up. Ssssskkkhhhhhrrrrrrrrrrrjjjjjjjjjjjj!!!...(sound of SR-71 Blackbird flying by). All for only forty bucks. We'll have him back to put in a new router sometime, but honestly I feel no pressure to do so now. read more
