I requested service for a new Nest thermostat to be serviced as I was having technical difficulties in getting it to connect. I kept trying to do it myself with no luck. Desperation was setting in as the really hot days here in so cal would soon be upon us. Non working smart thermostat = no cold air. Jonathan helped me finally overcome the Google Mess (Nest) problem I was having that seemed insurmountable. I bought a Google Mess x Yale Lock and paid extra to have it professionally installed by a technician provided as part of the purchase package. It wasn't cheap. The technician set it up and connected it to my WiFi. Things worked fine for about six months. Then, while I was out of town, the lock crashed and disconnected from my WiFi. Over the next six months, I probably spent over eight hours on the phone with Google support. Trying to give them access to my phone so they could work through the Google Groan (Home) app was a nightmare. Despite all the attempts, they never managed to solve the issue or get the lock reconnected to my WiFi. At that point, I basically had a lock with a battery in it and a key code that couldn't be changed. If I gave the code to a handyman who later turned out to be crazy, I'd be stuck without a way to update it. I did a lot of searching for a technician who could actually fix this. I eventually found Nerds Fixed It. I was worried they only worked commercially, but luckily they handle residential issues as well. Jonathan came to my house and did a fantastic job. He figured out what the problem was and got the Google Mess under control. The lock is now reconnected to my WiFi, and I was able to change the key code. Had a good overall experience with Nerds Fixed IT. I hired them to assist me with installing my cables for my security cameras. Jonathan was responsive in quickly scheduling a tech to come out to assess my install needs. I was then given a quote and decided that the quote was fair. The tech came out, quickly went to work and was able test my cameras the lines cable tester. According to the tester, all lines worked. I hired a separate person to run the cables through a conduit and into jbox. Once we tried connecting into the DVR, there was an issue with one of the connectors not working properly. After some back and forth on whether my handyman disturbed the connector head, Jonathan sent the tech out to repair one of five connectors that failed. He verified that 8 wires were correct and not disturbed then was kind enough to shorten the length of my cable lines. I would recommend Nerds Fix IT but recommend you make sure your issue is fixed before they leave. read more

Who do you call when the person from McAfee tells you your brand new computer is corrupt & it should cost $600 & 5 hours to fix, but if you give him a credit card number right now that he'll reduce it to $250? You call Nerds Fix IT!!! No, that wasn't made up to make you read - the person answering the McAfee toll free number actually said that! But that's not all. When I called Geeksquid (I know - called it that on purpose) to get help connecting my printer to my laptop wirelessly, I was told it was broken & I needed a new printer. He gave me a USB cable to hardwire the connection so my laptop would print. Of course, that visit was $200. Despite no longer trusting anyone that "fixes" computers I called Nerds Fix IT. In 1 call - 1 visit - 1 hour every, and I mean EVERY computer issue I had - GONE!!!!!!! Jonathan confirmed all my suspicions. * I had a feeling the printer was not broken. Sure enough, after 2 years of connecting my laptop to the cable, I can again print wirelessly! * Jonathan showed me that the "proof" my computer was corrupt is found on all computers - even his. But he ran several diagnostics anyway just to make sure. My laptop is clean and virus free. * I wanted to rename my computer within the McAfee application. The girl from that company said I couldn't change the name while using the computer, but Jonathan changed it for me!! * I wanted Edge removed from my Windows 7 computer, since Edge is for Windows 8 & above & it made my Windows 7 computer unable to open any application. A sigh of relief after a weekend of intense frustration trying to use online instructions to restore my offline printer, to get the scanner to work, and synch up the iPad with the printer. Jonathan was fantastic. Not only on time, which I very much appreciate, but he kept me apprised of his arrival status. Too, he is one of very few in home service people who have used a coaster (without being asked) for his water bottle. I know that's not a big deal to most, but we prize our wood furniture.
