    Car broke down while visiting family and went to here since I used to go to Boonton Tire & Auto…read morewhen I worked next door, assuming it would be the same good work and service. Got an expensive bill for a transmission and had family and old coworkers all telling me to steer clear of of the shop now since it was changed and that I would regret it, but I went through with it anyways. This resulted in a series of being givens false times, being told I would be kept up to date on the progress only to never be in the loop at all, and the final result being poor work done on the vehicle for an exuberant cost. The delays would have been fine if they stopped promising so much as I only went with them because they said it would be done by a certain point and almost cost my partner and I our jobs as we kept giving out new estimated return times to our workplaces and using up what little vacation time we had to just consistently be told to wait longer and longer. Even more work than a transmission was needed in the end and I was not charged, but it was still nonetheless another delay that took another day from us and while not charged for this fix, it was done poorly and I am at my preferred mechanic finally getting it done correctly. The final result after the days of frustration and excuses given out was a car that finally let us go home, albeit now three times as loud and still showing issues from before that I paid for them to fix that I am now paying another person to fix. I should have trusted all my coworkers next door to the shop and family members when they said to not go here, and will be steering clear like the others from now on.

I had a few schedule changes before my appointment and every time she was able to sort it out for me and make sure I had a set date and time to come in. They also followed up with a text and phone call to confirm everything which is great. I brought the car in for the appointment and was helped by Paul who was knowledgeable, nice and helpful. Turns out my car didn't need the recall work and I was in and out in about an hour. Paul was very pleasant throughout the experience and even complimented the shape my car was in. I was glad I didn't have to stick around for hours while they worked on my car but if I need any work done in the future I wouldn't hesitate to bring it into Sussex Honda.

    I've been bringing my car to Sussex Honda for maintenance since 2023, but today's experience has…read moremade me reconsider. I called ahead and scheduled an oil change for 1:30 PM, and the call center confirmed the time. I arrived as scheduled, having planned my day around it -- only to be told the job would now take an hour and a half instead of the usual 20-30 minutes, with no explanation for the delay and no advance notice or offer to reschedule. If a fifteen-minute job suddenly takes ninety minutes, it tells me someone else was worked in ahead of me, and my scheduled time simply wasn't respected. When I called customer service afterward to raise the issue, I spoke with a representative -- Laurie or Donna, I believe -- who seemed eager to get off the phone and deflected any responsibility, making clear "it wasn't their problem." That kind of dismissiveness toward a loyal, longtime customer is unacceptable. Between the disregard for scheduled appointments, the lack of communication, and the dismissive customer service, I won't be returning to Sussex Honda for service at least until they change something -- and I will not recommend it to others. I'd urge management to take a hard look at how appointments and customer service are being handled.
