I recently purchased a used vehicle from Milford Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram (CDJR) Dealership in Milford, Pa. I took the vehicle to my local repair shop to rotate tires and learned that an Anti-Theft Lug Nut existed on one of the wheels. The local repair shop and I looked for the key and no luck, as well as learning that the vehicle didn't have a spare tire. I called Milford CDJR Dealership and spoke to the salesperson who sold me the vehicle and explained the situation and I was told that there wasn't anything they could do for me regarding the lug nut and I expressed that the vehicles spare tire was missing and learned new vehicles doesn't come with spares any more for which I expressed my dissatisfaction with the sales person because he should have disclosed that upon the purchase of the vehicle and I expressed that I will never purchase any additional vehicles from Milford CDJR. On Sunday 29 June 2025 I called around to see if any Tire shops could assist me with my plight and Andy from Mavis Discount tire of Newton, NJ answered the call and told me to bring it around and see what he could do for me. When I arrived, the shop was busy, and I was asked if I wouldn't mind waiting so he can finish the car he was working on, and I only waited approximately 15 minutes before Andy could assist me with the removal of the Anti-Theft Lug Nut which he was successful with removing and replaced the lug nut with a used lug nut and suggested to replace the rest due to all lug nuts were swollen. I was very satisfied with the service and will take my vehicles as well as my wife's vehicle to this shop in the future. Craig read more

I needed a tire balanced because it was causing problems with my Car. It was 7:10 PM and no auto shop was open at that time. As I was riding by I saw that Mavis Tire shop was open! So, as I was backing out of my drive on my way to work.... had a flat tire. Pulled back in, got the tire off - spare on and drove to Mavis as they are the closest tire place to me. They took it in very quickly, fixed it for me (a BIG splinter of wood puncture it) and got me on my way to work - and would not charge me for it. These guys have worked on my vehicles and are Just such a GREAT bunch of guys. Gary, Andy, Fred, Dan, to name just a few, are always readily available to assist me when i'm in a pinch. There honesty, integrity, and willingness to help support my needs as well as my families needs are just hands down hard to find anymore. Even if it was bad news, they hated giving it. They try to save me money where they can, even if it comes out of their own pockets at the end of the day. i can't imagine its easy being underneath a car or truck all day, or having to give bad news to a customer about the crappy cars being made these days. I try to bring them donuts when i go, just something. I will always go to this outfit when i don't have to go to the dealership on a warranty. My tire developed a slow leak and I wanted it taken care of ASAP since I was heading out on a trip tomorrow. I went to Firestone where I had bought all my tires and explained the situation. They said they were busy and if I left it, they would try to look at it tomorrow. Not an option for me so I went to the Mavis store on Water St. in Newton. I explained my situation and sat in their waiting section. They appeared to be as busy as Firestone, however, in a short time I was told that I had picked up a screw in my tire. They fixed it and I was on my way. I guarantee you that I will be using Mavis for all my car needs. These guys are friendly, competent, and all-around aces! It was a great experience. read more

Update 6/3/23 I contacted Mavis Tire Customer Service and was told by Tyler that my issue was with Firestone, not Mavis. I explained that Mavis was the one falsely advertising the rebate, but Tyler states this is the marketing material provided by Firestone and told me I need to contact Firestone. There seems to be an issue between Mavis and Firestone and I am stuck in the middle. Mavis didn't want to do anything to satisfy an unhappy customer other than provide a phone number for Firestone rebates. Bad business practice! read more

Went into the shop at 4:30 on Monday looking to schedule an appointment to have new tires installed, figuring it would be later in the week or maybe next week. MOD took the time to check my car's tires to see if they needed replacement, then brought up all the available tires on the screen for me to choose from. He went over all the choices, and we came up with a solid tire for my car. Never felt pressured and he answered all my stupid questions. THEN he tells me to sit tight and they'll do it right then. I was out in about an hour with 4 new tires, new valves, balancing and an alignment. AND all for less than I thought I was gonna spend. Got off work today, Sunday at 9am. Showed up at this store at 9:10. 4 mechanics on duty, not including the M.O.D. My problem is I have a leak in my right rear tire. Needto get it fixed. MOD said it would be a "few" minutes. I asked what that meant. He said "20 minutes". There were 2 customers in the waiting area. Over an hour later, finally one of the customers cars came out.(oil change). So 3 empty bays, 4 mechanics, I figured my car would be up next. Wrong. The MOD came out and parked some other car in a bay spot. I got in my car and went home. I've had thousands of dollars worth of worth at the Mavis in Butler. I'll never bother to waste my time at this Newton place ever again. Guess if your problem isn't going to make them any $$$, you can just F*CK OFF. Stay away from this store. read more

Why bother with making an appointment if they make customers wait at least an hour before getting the car into the shop.

I was having tire trouble on a Saturday night. Called Sunday and was asked to bring my car over in a hour. While I was waiting I overheard that the store was shorthanded by 2 people and so expected to wait a fair amount of time. Shortly after that I was told my tire would need replacing, which I hast hoped for but was not surprised to hear. My overall wait was LESS than an hour from walking in the door to getting back into my car - this is a tire replacement and oil change, at an understaffed store and with really excellent customer service. Had a flat tire on Christmas Eve, and went to Mavis. Online said they closed at 3. we got there at 2:15. We walked in and asked them to plug the tire and since it was Christmas Eve we'd pay the price and tip and extra $20 to whoever did it, when we asked the guy at the desk walked into the shop and asked multiple guys to do it. They all stood there and laughed and refused to do a 5 minute job because they were all leaving. The ONLY one who did it was Craig. He plugged the tire in a timely manner and was done in less than 5 minutes. Didn't charge us and said Merry Christmas. We tipped him the $20. All in all Craig deserves a raise. Saddened by my visit this evening. After having an object pierce my tire in the Dunkin parking lot right next door, I immediately drove to Mavis for help. Listening to the air exit my tire at a high rate of speed, I run into Mavis to try to get it plugged or get help of some sort.. it was about 4:30 at the time.. (they close at 6:00.) Only offer was to put air in it, which wasn't going to help the situation at hand. Having three vehicles in our family that all have tires from Mavis and two of them in need of new ones before winter, I now know to look elsewhere to purchase them.. Don't go here. I would give them negative stars if I could. I only visited because my nephew's car needed a wheel alignment after I did repairs for him. I called to make an appointment. When I went in I found out I talked to a call center. Might explain why they are slow even with an appointment. I can live with that. No written estimate. Was told no when I asked, both against NJ state law. Was given a printout I had trouble understanding even thought I used to teach wheel alignment for a major, 130 store, independent tire dealer in S. Cal. until I realized the alignment machine is set up so mechanics that don't really know what they are doing can do the work. Just have to make it green. It became obvious when I drove the car. The steering wheel was off center. This is an indication the mechanic doesn't know or doesn't care to do the work right. When I had to return I was treated extremely rudely. Maybe they're good with tires. I wouldn't trust them with anything else. read more

Chris switched out my tire (and changed a second one that was on its last legs), changed my oil, topped off all my fluids and checked over all the belts, all in about 10 minutes flat. Complete incompetence! Set an appointment up online, which includes picking the tires you need. The appointment was for 4 days later. Spoke to someone when dropping the car off the night before and was informed car would be done by 3 pm. When I call at 2:45 to see if it was done the response was Oh, we don't have the tires so we are calling around to get them. Isn't the point of making the appt and ordering the tires so everything is ready. I would never recommend this place! read more

Do NOT go to STS(Mavis)! I used to bring my car there for oil changes & tire rotations. I had them install/balance new rims I bought. They told me one of the studs needed to be replaced b/c it was stripped. I said you're the ones that stripped it with your rotations. Then they tried to tell me the emergency brake line was frozen and needed to be replaced for hundreds of dollars. I told them to forget it. I found a great mechanic & he replaced the stud for $6 dollars. He said there was NOTHING wrong w/ the emergency brake line. One more thing about STS(Mavis)When I was there, they told a senior citizen lady she NEEDED new rotors for her 2013 car that only had 23k miles on it! Rotors usually only need to be replaced after about 100k miles on NYC taxis! AVOID STS(Mavis) at all costs!!! read more

I was just there and was insulted by person in charge after accepting to do an oil change and retorque wheels. Told will take about an hour came in with my Beagle dog. After 15 minutes I decided to take dog out to do her business was told by owner to keep dog outside not to bring her in again. Why not a sign in front no pets allow before I considered my business I had tires put on before with dog for two hours and never mentioned about it dog never made a scene. read more

Last year we got new tire put on our car at this service center. When they finished they told us they could not get one of the lug bolts loose so they had to damage the wheel to replace the tire. They used the spare and ordered a new wheel which they expected us to pay for, I bit rich, given that we now know it could have been removed without damage. Well, we challenged this as we felt this could have been resolved without damaging the alloy wheel and did not pay for the new wheel. The manager accepted this. The tires had already been replaced before we were presented with the bill, so what comes next was not the result of revenge or getting even. We thought the issue was resolved.... Well this year we went to get breaks replaced on this car. We went to our trusted mechanic. He found that when the spare was placed on the car during the tire replacement process, the lug bolts must have been tightened to 300 ft/lbs or more!. To remove the over-torqued bolts alone required $475 in additional parts and labor. (broke 3 bolt extractors in the process.).I am not sure where the issue lies, in the personnel, training or motivation.. If you use there service make sure they don't use an impact wrench to tighten lug bolts or nuts... Otherwise, what seems like an affordable price for tire replacement could be the most expensive one! read more

Made an appointment yesterday for originally today at 9:30 am. Called back around 3:30 and changed the appointment to yesterday at 4:30. Well, got stuck in traffic and at 5 pm I said I could be there in twenty minutes (which turned into 30) and still they let me come in even though they close at six. Well they ended up staying after closing to finish my car and they Mounted & balanced my tires and did an alignment which I needed badly. They could have easily said no when I called, but instead they showed true dedication to the job and making their customers happy. My car runs great today and I am so thankful for them working around my crazy time changing schedule! Also the price of it was amazing, a great deal. Great customer service, great job done in a time efficient manner, and great prices! I will DEFINITELY be back for all my other car needs. I wish I could give 0 stars. This place is completely unprofessional and enjoys wasting your time. They ordered my specific tires for me, and called me once they came in to make an appointment. I called and made an appointment for a Sunday and when I got there they said someone had put me in for Monday even after I confirmed 3 times. So, I made an appointment for the following Sunday. They assured me that my appointment would be priority and that it would get done right when I dropped it off. So, I dropped my car off to them that day and an hour and a half later I get a call saying they had taken my tires off but only had 3 out of the 4 tires they ordered for me. They specifically called and assured me that my tires were there and that they would get it done. I guess they gave my 4th tire to someone else? The guy that called me apparently no longer works there a week later so basically I wasted a bunch of time and still didn't get tires. Why would you take my tires off to begin with if you didn't have the tires to replace them?! read more

I called a few days before I wanted to go in and made and appointment. I made the appointment for 8am (when they open) so I would not have to wait. I show up at 7:55am and walk in, there was two gentlemen before me who made it very clear that they didn't have an appointment and just did a "walk-in". When I walked up to the counter the man at the desk says that there are two cars ahead of me! How could there be two cars ahead of me when I have an appointment (the first one of the day). If it is first come first serve then don't take appointments. And then to top it off the guy tells me, for him to take two snow tires off and but my all seasons back on it would take an hour. I thought that was crazy. I ended up leaving here and going somewhere else and it took them literally 15 minutes to take my snow tires off my all reasons on and balance them. Bob has been at it a long time, runs an honest shop and stands behind his work.
