Everything was fine until a person tries to get an understanding of the final bill. Dr. Brian…read moreFoster did my exam and confirmed I had cataracts so appointments were scheduled for the left and right eye. At that point their financial counselor informs me under my insurance coverage, the deductible is $225 for each visit and I would be responsible for the anesthesia costs. Okay, try to figure out who and how much the anesthesia is going to be turned out to be a stupid circular exercise in futility. If a procedure is scheduled, how would I know as the patient, who the provider would be and how many units of anesthesia it would require. After multiple phone calls to the Eye Associates Patient Center, it rolls into voicemail with a message stating a return call would occur in (48) hours. No return call. Left yet again another message, no return call. I finally get in touch with a very nice woman who did provide the company and phone number for their contracted anesthesia services. I call that number and their voicemail says they do not provide information on the costs of their services. I reach out to Aetna Explorer PPO and they have no information submitted on the procedure. Keep in mind this has then been multiple, multiple calls, still no information on what the final bill would be YET the patient is responsible for all of those potential future bills. While I was perfectly comfortable paying $225 for each of the surgery center visits, it is crazy to push "back" on the patient the costs and responsibility of anesthesia without providing any details. So I cancelled my procedures given this level of patient support before the procedure, I could only imagine how pathetic it would be after the procedure if there were any issues. I do not recommend using Eye Associates - while their physicians may be qualified, the support staff is truly lacking.

Let me start by saying, my experience was not the fault of my eye doctor, but the company that…read moresupplied the VITITY lenses. In my case, "the best of the best." Several years ago I was told I was of the age I needed to have cataract surgery done. I was apprehensive as anyone would be having someone cut into their eye(s). After the cataract surgery, I was in constant pain and discomfort. Broken blood vessels, months on steroid drops, ice & hot packs, etc., and now dealing with the worst dry eye syndrome anyone could ever imagine. I would never be able to have any kind of clarity in my vision ever again. My doctor tried and tried but after 10 months finally stated, there was nothing more he could do. The lenses were "faulty." And my night vision was a collaboration of shooting light beams in every direction. (which I never had before.) My vision was permanently damaged and I would never have any kind of clarity again. I live with that every day of my life. (And yes, I wear glasses. But I was told they can only provide me with so much correction. Any more than that, it works against me.)

Every single person from the nurse to Doctor Taylor to the optometrist was patient and kind to him. We appreciated such care and patience that my wife and I became patients ourselves! Doctor Taylor is great with our child and awesome with us. Ms. Kyndl, the optical associate, was extremely caring and patient with our son. We cannot recommend this place enough!

I got…read morea MASSIVE infection and they just let it go. 36 hours after my last procedure, a vitrectomy, I noticed my left eye getting cloudy. I was obviously alarmed as it was a Saturday just after noon and they were closed, but I called the answering service and they got a Dr on the phone. She was not concerned with the clouding at all but asked about pain. I had no pain at the time. She wanted me to come in Monday. My eye continued to rapidly deteriorate through the day and I could hardly see. I called back on Saturday evening and I talked to the same Dr. Once again she only wanted to know about pain. I had none. She once again dismissed my concerns. I say she is incompetent because I now know that what I was seeing was the puss clouding my eye! At 2:30 in the morning I woke up with the worst pain in my eye and I couldn't see anything but gray. That is the puss that they have allowed to grow inside my eye. I called the answering service. I was told "We aren't allowed to wake the Dr's. up between 10 and 6 unless it's an emergency." I told her I thought this was and she said I should go to the Emergency Room! I called back at 6 am and I was finally treated on Sunday. As a side note, this policy totally shocked the 2 other Eye specialist companies I have been to see. If they deny this, they are lying. In the attached photo you can see the infection coming around onto my iris. The small crescent at the bottom, highlighted with the line. I was lied to that all of my treatment for the infection would be covered by them and they billed Medicare and my insurance. This went all the way up to the corporate level by the way. I consider this fraud. If a Dr says "no charge" it's no charge. I am STILL getting bills! I was told I would make a full recovery, "just give it a few more weeks". My eye stopped improving after a few months and my Dr said he wanted to see me in 4 weeks. I found out the next day that he was leaving The Eye Associates 3 days after he said that. They had me using steroid drops 4 times a day that were not doing anything beneficial at all. I got a second and third opinion. The second was "horrified" who sent me to the third. It took 6 months to find out that the infection had left scarring on my retna. Although I can't say The Eye Associates did anything to cause my infection, I am positive they neglected my care and they are responsible for my vision loss. My current specialist has done an amazing job in getting me the partial vision I have. I would not let The Eye Associates clean sleepers out of my dogs eyes. Kevin Devoy

I'm taking them to court.

Today I get a package with one box of contacts there should be two boxes. I have had nothing but problems with this eye center and the doctor. why he couldn't get the right contacts the first or second time. This is my third time to get the correct prescription I have been back to the office and told them I won't be back. Do not buy your contacts there you can get them cheeper on the internet and use your insurance too. I truly hope you get the right prescription the first time. I couldn't even get those incorrect contacts in my eye. It took me over twenty minutes to get one in. hopefully I will get the other box they owe me. I have two boxes of that I cannot use. One was $115 and the other one was $119 so that pretty much sucks being out that kind of money.
