Stunning tavern in the heart of Andes NY. Beautifully appointed indoors and out. Great local vibe, cocktails and crowd.

This little ski town is a hidden gem near the reservoirs of NYC in Downsville. The restaurant and bar are clean and well staffed. the buildings architecture is historic and the exterior space and gardens were well maintained. It was nice to people watch on the busy street. The food was good and on time for an event of 30 or so people. Terra was working and she made sure everything was wonderful. I really appreciated her efforts. I would definitely set up future large group events here at the hotel.

It was perfect for our group, with cute, quirky decor, including a large bench/space by the door that was perfect for hanging bags and coats, and for stashing our luggage. Dinner was a treat. The town of Andes is small and charming, and we ate on the porch with views of the main street through town. The food was delicious - so fresh and flavorful. We got a shrimp cocktail starter, a burger, fish and chips and a crab cake platter. All the dishes were high quality with great portion sizes. I'd recommend the hotel and the restaurant for couples and families. There's a cute thrift shop right by the hotel, and a diner and a coffee shop on the main street. This was a great home base for exploring the area, including Cooperstown and the Ommegang Brewery.

The beer is flavorful and I recommend "hooking up" your Brookie. Think Michelada, but with more citrus. They have a set menu for snacks so not really a place for a full meal. However, check the website as they seem to have rotating food vendors. We had the vegan nachos with Indian flavors which was amazing. It's a small space but that adds to the charm! Lots of outside seating, hunter lounge feels, and friendly staff with their mascot cat.

We arrived about 2 hours after opening on a Saturday afternoon in August and it was pretty packed. Since we had the dogs with us so we searched for a shady spot on a sunny afternoon so that they would be comfortable. Luckily we found one! The beer was good. We really enjoyed the Catch & Release, Mountain Life and the Dutchie. The basil in the Dutchie was really refreshing! We purchased Mountain Life and Dutchie in cans. The food was definitely not the highlight. They told us they were very behind and that the pizza would take an hour or more. They also wouldn't take our order initially because they had no buzzers left. We came back two times to see if any buzzers had come back. We ended up ordering the smash burger, the chicken sando, and fries. This order took about 20-25 mins. The Smash burger had a nice caramelization. The chicken sando was tasty, but not worth the wait. We will be back!
