We decided to take advantage of pandemic prices and fly down to Florida from Rhode Island for Labor Day. I became a bit of a donut foodie after participating in the RI Food Fights Donut Showdown for a couple years. Its a coupon book for a free donut to 20 or so donut shops all over RI. The prices of the donuts range from $1 - $5 each. Of course the expensive donuts are really good but the $1 donuts really surprised and were really good. I found a great shop 20 minutes away and will get a dozen every month or so. The Providence shops are amazing but expensive and a bit too far. And of course being from New England you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Dunkin but we also have a local chain - Honey Dew, which are a little better (we have both shops less than a half mile from our house). So when I saw the positive reviews and some saying that this place had the best donuts in south Florida I had to check them out. Also, there was no other donut shops in the area. When I arrived the lot was full but I was able to squeeze in along the entrance. The line was short but slow. The woman taking my order was really pleasant and patient while I chose my 7 donuts. Total came to $9.49. I took them back to our condo and shared them with my family and the family we were visiting. It was unanimous. Everyone thought they were at best average. I got two Boston Creme donuts as they are my and my daughter's favorite, a blueberry cake, glazed, chocolate iced, sugar cake, and Oreo. The Boston Creme was bad. I wonder if the filling was spoiled it was that bad. The blueberry was average as was the chocolate iced and glazed. The Oreo was so dry that it was nearly impossible to swallow without a drink. So if this is the "best in south Florida" I really feel bad for you people. Especially at what they were charging for them. Dunkin is better than this. Maybe the Dunkins in FL are somehow worse than in New England? I see this shop also has locations in MA. I can't speak for donut shops in MA but I don't see how they can stay in business unless they are much better than my experience. read more

I stopped in early to pick up donuts and bagels for the office I was visiting. The service was friendly and the selection varied. There's no way I could eat all of the tasty delights but the employees loved them. It really turned around what otherwise could've been a boring meeting. Generally when you're from the Region coming in to an office, people aren't happy to see you. WOWOWOW! Did somebody say donut fairy?! This place was so magical. I walked in and stood at the counter with my mouth hanging wide. I probably looked like Patrick from Spongebob Squarepants. I felt like him. "I'm so overwhelmed" I told the guy at the counter as my eyes danced across what seemed like hundreds of donut flavor options. I eventually made up my mind and gestured my father to come the register to do what he does best -- pay. And I was pleasantly surprised by the price. For years, I have heard that I have to try the donuts from Dandee Donut Factory. Finally, I did. My girlfriend and I stopped by here after taking a walk along Pompano Beach one Sunday morning. We walked in and was surprised at how small the restaurant actually is. I guess a lot of people grab and go. We decided that we wanted 4 donuts but the girl that was helping us told us that it would actually wind up being cheaper if we got six donuts because we would get a seventh donut for free. We decided why not and ordered seven donuts. We got a chocolate coconut, an apple dumpling, Keylime pie, sour cream glazed x 2 (because we are dumb and didn't realize), Bavarian cream, and cherry cake. The donuts looked delicious. They smelled delicious. I did not find them delicious. I found the apple one overly sweet. They put entirely too much feeling in the donut to the point that when you took one bite, all of it oozed out the back. The sour cream one had an off taste to it. I've had sour cream donuts before and they certainly don't taste like this. I'm not sure who came up with the key lime recipe but they need to go find some Key lime pie and try it because the donut filling tasted more like a bottle of Sprite was used to flavor it. It was very lemon lime as opposed to the tart key lime flavor that I was hoping to have. The cherry cake was OK but I don't know why everybody thinks it's so amazing. The Bavarian cream lacked the flavor of Bavarian cream. The chocolate coconut was probably our favorite of all of them and honestly I've had much better. For a total of almost $12, including the tip, the donuts seriously failed to impress me. The next time I want donuts I doubt I'll be going back here. read more

I've been there twice and that's it! Will never go back! First time I had a weird experience with their customer service, and I thought "ok no problem they may be busy or stressed for some reason" and gave them a second chance, and both times were bad! They're Very disorganized and rude. I've asked for water together with my food, the server forgot it (no problem)...she sees me and I tell her "Excuse me, you forgot my water" She looked at me like "whatever" and walked in back to work and never came back with the water. Also you'll never hear from them the words "excuse me or sorry/apologies" for whatever they did wrong. Oh and by the way, make sure you have a perfect mask, because if it's broke on whatever side they'll approach you like: "Sir you can't walk in here without a mask." Although I had my mask on, just not in a perfect condition just because I had to hold it on my face since one of the sides was broken. Oh and last but not least, make sure you do your order and reconfirm it 3x otherwise they'll get angry if THEY mess it up with other orders lol. Good luck =) read more

The owner seemed worried about Covid-19 but the same pen was given to everyone, no tables were wiped or sanitized our entire time there. Donuts tasted like old dirty oil. If you want homemade, fresh, delicious donuts, this is the place to come. For years I had driven past this little hole in the wall place but never stopped in. I had heard the donuts were good, but being a donut snob I didn't believe it. Well one day about a year ago I finally stopped in and my life was changed. Let me first start by saying that not only do they seek donuts, but they also have muffins the size of your hand and breakfast foods. But the donuts. The donuts are the reason people come here. They must have at least 25 different flavors including seasonal flavors. All of their donuts are made fresh in house. My personal favorite is the Boston cream pie. It has the perfect ratio of cream, smooth chocolate icing and donut. Other stand outs are their cake donuts and the dandy donut. Yummmmm. Trust me, you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. I bring everyone who visits here. I have the same routine. Order assorted dozed (you actually get 13) and everyone can taste a bite of each flavor. So good. We talk about the donuts from Dandee all year long. We get to enjoy them about 3 times a year while on vacation. We love them. They are always fresh. My top favs are the glazed sour cream. The walnut crunch. And the French cruller. We have tried most. They are all delicious. We also say while we are having our treat and tea in the shop how clean it is. There is never a time when an employee is just standing. They are wiping down counters sweeping or mopping floors taking out trash cleaning coffee area. Always very clean. Love the donuts here. It's always so soft and fresh. My usual go to's are the maple bacon and the blueberry donuts. The maple bacon is made to order, it takes them some time to fry up the bacon and then place it on top of the donut. Sometimes they don't have it because they ran out. There is a parking lot on site. The place is nice and clean with a few tables inside and outside on the patio. The employees are friendly. They also serve cafe drinks. I ordered their vanilla chai which was pretty tasty. Every time we're in town, we make an effort to stop by here for a treat. It's probably a good thing it is a distance from where I live or else I'll be there everyday lol. My husband's favorite is the Oreo donut. Overall, a great spot to stop by to get dessert and their quality of donuts is pretty top notch compared to your typical chain like Dunkin Donuts. read more

Such a let down for me since I was trying to get here from quite awhile. Prefect opportunity came after eating dinner near by. We decided to get donuts to go. They do have other food items other than donuts though. Kinda like Denny's type of menu with breakfast and sandwich items etc. The employee behind the counter was nice and told us to take our time since we were deciding the different flavors of the donuts. We did ask her if they were fresh since we were going there at 10 PM at night. She said they are busy and they all are fresh. I don't know about other times of the day since they are open 24/7. But when we got home and tried them, more than half were stale. They didn't taste amazing overall. Some were decent like my favorite one I tried was the chocolate eclair. A couple weeks ago I had a business meeting with a company I do business with. They being a young tech company, I decided donuts would be a great way to curry favor as the youthful have less dietary worries. I showed up and ordered 60 assorted donuts. Asked them to pull one out for me for the road and a coffee which I'm pretty sure They comped the coffee. They had the order ready in 3 minutes and helped me to my car. The donuts were a huge success. Everyone assumed when I said donuts I'd bring dunkin. They were loved and gone by lunch. (There are only 30 people). This place is so cute and cheap! Love it! Sam and I were looking for an inexpensive breakfast spot that we could swing by for a quick meal before a day spent studying (ah grad school life...). After a quick Yelp search I found Dandee Donut Factory. I was completely won over by the fact that you can get a small coffee, a breakfast sandwich and a donut all for under $7! Sounded like a deal to me!! When we got there the place was pretty busy. Parking was limited. We literally got the last spot available. The line inside was long, but it went by pretty quickly. I went ahead and ordered a small coffee, just cream no sugar, with a ham and cheese croissant and a strawberry frosted donut. Sam ordered a Taylor ham sandwich. He is from New Jersey, and apparently this sandwich is a thing there. He was astonished that you could even find Taylor ham in Florida so he absolutely had to order the sandwich. Our food came out fairly quickly. You could tell everything was fresh. My croissant sandwich was simple but awesome, just what I was looking for. The coffee was good and the donut was amazing! Again, very simple, but very good. Sam loved his special sandwich. He said it wasn't as good as the ones he has had in Jersey, but still very good. Dandee Donut Factory is great! Went here the last two days for breakfast and when I walked out to leave my kids said, " I wish we had one these closer to our house." I love this place. This small restaurant makes the BEST donuts in Broward. I have a lot of confidence in making that statement. I had a chocolate glazed donut with a white cream filling in the center (see pic) with coffee, a sausage bagel sandwich with cheese served with home-fries. My son had a glazed twist donut and my daughter had some chocolate munchkins. They both had Pancakes and bacon too. The pic I took of my donut speaks for itself. Just delicious. My kids loved their breakfast and they could not get over how good the donuts were. My home-fries were cooked perfectly. They were seasoned correctly and tasted flat out fantastic. Come to think of it these were the BEST home-fries I have had in awhile. Good coffee too. Service on both days was above par. The waitresses are fast and very friendly. Another plus is that the restaurant is very clean. We sat at the counter both days and it would be hard not to notice if the place was dirty because it's tight quarters inside. Hats off to the cleaning staff. To sum it all up folks, I'll share with you what I told my kids when we drove away from the restaurant this morning. "Dandee Donuts is one of those places that makes me forget all the reasons why I hate South Florida and reminds me how blessed we are to live down here." We came for a late breakfast, brunch if you will, this past Sunday. The parking situation was a bit less than perfect, but it was manageable. When we got inside I realized why the lot was such a mess, It was packed! The mood was reminiscent of my recent trip to Katz's Delicatessen in Manhattan, NY. Dozens of people were clamoring for their turn to order and workers were shouting across the restaurant. Honestly, I loved the chaos. I came to try their pork roll egg and cheese sandwich, and the donuts. Much to my surprise, and happiness, they actually have the famous New Jersey Taylor Ham. I ordered the combo that comes with the sandwich, coffee and a doughnut for a fair price of around $8. The Taylor Ham was just as good as some of the better sandwiches that I have tried in New Jersey. Not the best, but certainly authentic. The roll was perfect and they even knew to ask if I wanted ketchup, salt, and pepper. Of course I did! I had the chocolate coconut flavored doughnut. It was excellent. Savory, sweet, but not too sweet, and with the perfect texture. They don't have any exceptionally different looking doughnuts. They are also kind of difficult to see while ordering because of their position relating to the counter. But, they make the ones they do have the correct way. No complaints here. I don't need a doughnut with 600 toppings to be happy. As long as the flavors and textures are on point, I'm alright with it. The coffee was small, (12oz.) But, it was actually better than I thought it would be. I was expecting typical watered down diner coffee, but it was slightly better. I've never seen a Taylor ham, egg, and cheese sandwich outside of New Jersey. Delicious donuts. I yelped this place and wanted to try it out after reading all these great reviews. To warn you, the area is not so great even though it's somewhat close to the beach. I went there midday and although there was no line it took about 10-15 minutes to get my dozen donuts. There was only one lady working the counter and after I requested for 5 maple bacon donuts she just ventured into the back and then helped the next customer in line instead of continuing to finish my order. Also these maple bacon donuts are special order and are not on the menu. As I waited at the counter, I took a look around at the place. Felt a bit uncomfortable since the area wasn't the best. They have seating indoors and some tables outdoors but don't think I would come here to eat. There's a few parking spots but there's a Wendy's across the street with plenty of parking. By the time the lady finished helping the guests AFTER me, I picked out an assortment of donuts. I ordered the sour cream, raspberry filled, apple crumb, French crueler, and chocolate frost. I only requested for a dozen which was suppose to be 12.49 but I guess she didn't listen and gave me extra. I didn't realize it until the bill was more than expected. The doughnuts were light and doughy. They kind of remind me of the donuts at DOUGH in Brooklyn. They are definitely much better than dunkin donuts and Krispy Kreme. They donuts are thicker and the flavors are great. The maple bacon donut had crispy donut pieces drizzled in some maple caramel sauce. The donuts here at Dandee Donut's remind me of my childhood. I remember homemade donuts that were subtly crispy on the outside, and warm, chewy and fresh on the inside. I remember the thick, rich chocolate creme with chocolate jimmies sprinkled on top, which were spread liberally on top of the donut. The donuts here are that good and that tasty, and are worth the trip. A little too rich though. For me, one is enough, and I have a pretty hearty appetite. This is a small place with not much seating. It doesn't appear too appealing on approach, but has a lot of character. I drove by the place hundreds of times, and I was compelled to do a U-Turn on this particular Sunday afternoon ... and I'm not sure why. I'm happy I did.
