Went to Schmear on a recommendation of a friend, but really, I feel like it isn't better than the chain restaurant, Einstein Bagels. Einstein has more choices of the types of bagels & flavors of schmear, plus a variety of beverages to choose from. Schmear Bagel does seem to make their schmear fresh/homemade, so that's a plus. but I didn't find the vegetable schmear flavorful at all. Service was pleasant though! No need for me to go back because I work next door to Goldberg's Deli & Bagels, which is also excellent! read more

Came here late on a Saturday morning and most of the bagels were gone but the plain and sesame bagels we got were fantastic. Glad to find a good bagel establishment in Coral Spring. The line was short and they got me three bagels immediately has they had just completed making a fresh batch. Really like the New York themed interior design as a nice added touch. Loved my little breakfast here! The owner is right there at the register working with the team, it gives a very family friendly vibe. Plus the bagels are delicious and the prices are so cheap. I pointed out to the owner that his yelp page was unclaimed (if you're reading this please don't raise those prices too much haha!) I had a "flagel" - a flat bagel with half the calories but all the flavor and yumminess. Did this with ham egg and cheese and i think i paid less than $8. My mom had the mini bagel with a schmear since she wasn't too hungry and it was also delicious. Unfortunately i don't live nearby or id come here every week. Thank you!! read more

Not my favorite breakfast spot based on what I expected out of a breakfast burrito. There is so much egg in the wrap and just pieces of meat instead of a whole patty, the hash brown was also really thin and soggy. The bagel sandwich wasn't too bad, but for the price we paid it could've been bigger. Overall, not the worst breakfast spot, but it wasn't my favorite. The service was still nice and fast read more

We came here for breakfast this morning and it was delish!!! We got an omelet with bacon, onion, and mozzarella cheese. It was huge and cooked perfectly. The home fries were well seasoned and extra crispy like we asked for. The everything bagel was hot out of the oven, and nice and chewy. We will be back for sure!! read more

Have been twice so far: for breakfast, then for lunch. This is the store which used to house a restaurant called D' Apple cafe/diner. In the am the queue, while long, moves quickly and can view bagels in the case on the right going in while in line, as I recall. The ordering is quick and the bagels are prepared how you want, toasted or not toasted. I am a Big Fan of fresh, toasted bagels. That's just me. I think it is the correct way to enjoy this breakfast delicacy. Cups are handed out at the Cashier/ order taker then one goes to the beverage bar to fill up while waiting for bagel or other breakfast orders to be prepared. Very recently an "Egg Surcharge" of .50 cents has been imposed here. I think it is .50 cents per Egg. Be aware! The decor is a New York baseball theme which, of course, is the New York Yankees. At lunchtime the sub menu even boasts a sub named for baseball player Derek Jeter, among other baseball stars. Menu is clever and fun. If you are two persons some small tables are setup outside on the sidewalk for Al fresco dining while at Schmear Bagel. The Egg surcharge did not dissuade me at recent Saturday lunch. I enjoy lunching or breakfasting here- so far- because I feel good about buying Local. This is a Locally Owned business by a Local businesswoman. At lunch I had their matzo ball soup which did NOT come w/ crackers. I suppose you could request them. As it turns out I don't care for crackers w/ my matzo ball soup so this turned out great for me. My Egg dish previously alluded to at lunch was an Egg Salad Wrap which will set you back over $11. Mine was on the Spinach Wrap and the order taker asks whether you want the wrap with lettuce, tomato, onions. I opted for all three (3) in my Egg Salad wrap and was assured the Egg Salad and everything else here is homemade. Homemade goodness. A good soft drink I enjoy here is canned Dr. Brown's sodas ... just like in New York. Just take your canned soda from the refrigerated case after ordering. Try this new bagel shop. read more

Hubby got meat lovers omelet. Nice size serving, though not enough to have leftovers. Bagels were very good. Toasted just right. Cutting was sloppy with salt bagel unevenly cut in half and pump cut in quarters with schmear on bagel rather than on side as requested. Not much for ambiance, but hey, it's a bagel store. And that's why we came. And they do know how to make bagels! Now bagels seem to be a personal preference item. Some like hard & chewy, some more fluffy. Schmear makes their bagels BIG, and kind of fluffy. Not bread-like, but I would prefer just a bit more chewy. Food was alright. They never have Asiago bagel on hand and limited in general. They do not do online ordering and take forever to prep your food when you're there. And you call for them to have the food ready or order ahead and they never answer their phone. I called two times and no answer so I drive myself over there. I don't think they understand customer management because when I got there there long line with five or six people and they then get a phone order which they actually answer and we all have to wait. They are either under staff or don't know what's going on because with a long line the only person at the register should not be prepping bagels for people they should be taking order. read more

I came in during the week for a cinnamon bagel. There was little to no wait. The staff was friendly and fast service. The place looked clean, and bright! The bagel was delicious. It had a nice crisp to it, and the cream cheese was tasty. I ordered an iced coffee as well. The employee provided me the black iced coffee and they have a stand where you add your own creamer and sugar. I enjoyed my iced coffee I thought it was really good! I will definitely be back for more bagels, and maybe to try a hot plate of something delicious! read more

First time visit, we had breakfast. You order at the counter from an overhead menu. Food is brought to your table. Drinks are self serve. The restaurant is clean. Husband enjoyed his bagel with a nova schmear , although somewhat lacking in Nova. I had the flagel with a schmear and turkey bacon . The flagel was a little chewy and the thin pieces of turkey bacon were just ok. All in all, worth a second look. read more

We have been to this place a few times since it changed names. The bagels are very good. As the place matures, I have noted the bagels are getting "better done" which makes for a better crust, and the inside is still chewy. It's so easy to bash a new place, they dont have their (stuff) together, it's. to be expected. Once again this bagel place has changed owners, but sadly, this time, it's not good news. The last owner brought the largest, best tasting bagels I've had the pleasure of eating since leaving NYC. The new owner(s), a couple of Brooklynites, first stated that they weren't going to change the bagels, size, or ingredients, even claiming that the same baker would be making the bagels. Well, they didn't stick to their word. The bagels are MUCH smaller than before and are no longer worth the price. They taste not too different, but I'd expect that to change as well. The last owner was friendly, even sitting down to introduce himself one time. Now, we felt invisible once our order was paid for. What with H&H bagels of New York now open at 441 and Glades, and another well-known bagel chain, Mitch's Downtown Bagels opening soon at the corner of Sample and N. University, Schmear bagels needed to not just keep the unbelievable bagels their establishment had under the old owner, they needed to do something above and beyond to step up to be competitive with the well established newcomers to the area. In my personal opinion, they didn't do what they needed to do. I'll be pursuing other bagels joints and suspect others will too. Last word; if it ain't broke, don't fix just to make more $ read more

After working out at the gym, Pops and I wanted to catch a quick breakfast bite. Looking for something local, we stopped at Bagel Depot & Deli. Going inside, there was a decent number of people standing in line. The interior had New york Yankee wallpaper across the dining area. For breakfast, we ordered 1x Taylor ham bagel and 1x bacon egg and cheese on everything bagels. Moving on with my review, we were a little disappointed with our experience today. First off, we didn't mind waiting in line, but we weren't happy as we waited 35 minutes for our order to be ready. Secondly, although the sandwiches had your tasty standard flavors, the bagels themselves weren't toasted and tasted doughy inside. Overall, being very generous, we'd give Bagel Depot & Deli 3/5 stars. read more

All I can say is that when we were told about this place that we didn't even realize was there we were hooked on their bagels. We always get dozens of them when my college son comes back with friends to stay with us and it's always a hit. This new breakfast spot has taken a big chance at being a NY style breakfast deli with bagels etc. The verdict: it was ok-- nothing special really. You have to order at the front then they give you a number and bring your food to you. No service. There aren't many tables indoors and a few outside. It seemed clean but the flies we kept seeing inside was an annoyance and we were really sort of skeeved out by it and being the food was mediocre, I don't think we will be back anytime soon. read more

This place has changed names and owners a couple of times. We came in for bagels, and egg sandwiches to try them out. The seating area is on the small size, however it appears the majority were picking up to go when we were there. I use to run a bagel shop in my younger years. I know how to make bagels, cream cheese with different flavors, bagel chips, you name it. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of bagels. The texture and flavor were good. They have a limited amount of flavors for bagels and cream cheese in comparison to what I am use to, however what they have to offer is great. The price for a bakers dozen has certainly gone up since I was in the biz, but so has life's expenses. With tax a bakers dozen is $19.25. We have frozen some, and they still taste great when we thaw and toast them. We will be back for sure. Enjoy! read more

This is my favorite bagel place in Coral Springs! The bagel are always fresh and the employees are always nice and have great customer service. Early in the mornings especially on the weekends it's always super busy but if you come a little later it's not as packed but it being busy in the morning is a obvious good sign that it's truly a popular place and they are obviously doing something right. They get a 10/10 from me the texture and taste of the bagels are truly good and are the closest comparable bagels to the bagels I used to get from a local bagel place when I used to live in New York so that says a lot because New York bagels are great! read more

I heard about this on the Internet. I like anything authentic New York so I had to check it out. I got everything bagel bacon, and egg sandwich. The sandwich itself cost around nine dollars. Overall, it was good. The bagel tasted good. I got it toasted so it was nice and crunchy. The egg was good and it was freshly made, but it could've used a little more seasoning. They gave a good amount of bacon. Bacon itself cooked very well. It was crunchy, but not burnt. I was taken care of immediately, and my sandwich was brought out very quickly. The ladies at the counter were very nice as well. It has a more modern look. Nothing special that stands out, but it was a good environment to eat my food. read more

Randomly came in to this spot and am so happy we did. Derrell working the register was so helpful with all of our questions. All bagels are made fresh in house so bonus points for that. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on an everything bagel. It's the best bagel I've ever had in FL. The bagel was huge, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. All breakfast sandwiches come with a free coffee which I thought was cool. My husband ordered a platter with 2 eggs, sausage, home fries & an Asiago bagel on the side. The food came out hot and fast. The inside is NYY themed, making you feel like you're really having a NY bagel. Our whole meal, including tip, came out to about $22. Such a great price considering every place nickel and dimes you these days. This place is by no means fine dining, but a great local, casual breakfast spot with nice employees & delicious bagels.
