Nice little place for some great seafood or hamburgers if that's what you want with a friendly service.

Food is too spicy. I like a little spice but the food is so spicy that you can't eat it. I think some one needs to redo their recipes

I don't live in this town but as a delivery driver, I come through here very often and had been looking forward to the day that I can come in here. BUT!!! I was so disappointed, worst service ever!! I literally waited 15 minutes for someone to come over and take my order to just be told that she had other things to do before coming to take my order. Miss, the tables could have waited to be bused until after you put in my order but, apparently, the trash was more important than taking my order. I was just so disappointed by the treatment. But the food is absolutely delicious!! The place is nice, I just wish I could have enjoyed it more. It's just not a place I will be revisiting any time soon. To begin, I'm staunchly Cajun and thus, rightfully leery of crawfish in Texas. That said, the call of a seafood lunch near tiny Buna was too strong so we ambled in on a Wednesday for a late lunch. Plenty of parking for a trailer greeted us, as did the wafting scent of seafood boil and delectable fried dishes. We began with the traditional fried green tomatoes. They were crisp, well-seasoned and did not disappoint this Cajun girl. Swamp Bites were a great side to the boiled shrimp (and leftovers came home). Delightfully crisp potatoes topped with bacon, cheese and ranch were a good appetizer or side. The fried fish and shrimp were equally good. The boiled shrimp were light on seasoning yet flavorful. They were deveined and slit but still didn't peel real easily. A nice big ice cream cone ended the meal and we were back on the road. We would be pleased to return here. read more

We were on our way to try another new place out in Kirbyville, but on arrival it was closed due to some issues. We had passed by Dane's which I've been wanting to try and I pointed out to my wife how crowded it was at almost 1:00pm! So I told her after we had found the other place closed let's go back and try Dane's. I had heard from a friend of mine that the food was very good. So back we went!. We were promptly greeted and seated and were handed menus. The greeter told us our waitress would be right with us to get our drink orders. They had specials also posted on little signs at the tables. The inside was very roomy with plenty of tables and 4 or 5 big screen TV's with your favorite sports on! The waitress came and we elected to do the burger specials for the day. My wife had the regular homemade burger with cheese and bacon with a sourdough bun that came with FF's and a drink. I went for the Double meat burger with cheese, bacon, and jalapenos. But mine didn't come with the sourdough bun. But I had the Fries and a Coke. My wife also ordered their fried green tomatoes to try and they were very good as were our burgers! Our waitress was very helpful and very outgoing. They had two kinds of the fried green tomatoes, regular and extra crispy. She went with the regular based on what the waitress told her and she was right on point with those, but I imagine the extra crispy are really good too! Dane's is known for their boiled crawfish when they are in season. They also have seafood and other things on their menu. I have heard their fried catfish are very good here too!!! They have nice big roll up doors for when it's nice and cool outside. This wasn't that kind of weather as the temps here in East Texas have been running around 105 to almost 110°F for about the last month and we're all about over it, but it is what it is. There is a really nice ambience to the inside and I'm sure now that we've tried it, it won't be long before we come back to try the seafood!!! read more

The food was hot but that's where the good ends. I paid $25 for a small basket of fried fish, shrimp, fries and hush puppies. The fish filets were too thick for my taste. This business did not serve red sauce for the shrimp and they were stingy with the ketchup. They serve the ketchup in small containers. read more

I'm from and grew up in the area, so I wanted to give this place a shot, again. Hate that I did, and at a $90 expense. The crawfish were overpriced, overcooked (every time), old leftover rinsed out taste with a touch of chemical. I've tried this place multiple times throughout the years and have been consistently disappointed. Also, if a place has crawfish in their name, I'd expect they would know how to clean, boil, serve and add the fixings... Went in to check it out. There was one couple sitting in dining room. And a few on the patio area. Not busy at all. I had been cleaning my parents house to get ready to sell and I was starving. Waited about 10 minutes before rude girl finally decided to bring menu and take drink order. Which I know they saw me because they stared from moment I sat down I guess because they did not recognize me. I waited about another 10 minutes and it seemed she disappeared. So I got up. It's the answer to Hunger! Most go for the seafood but if you want some really Great Nachos then Danes is the place to go!

To start, my family was in town for a football game, never have been to this place it was dark outside you couldn't see the front door. When we went in we were not greeted, we had to sit ourselves, get our own menu's was a while before anyone showed up to take our order. We should have left then but after being in heat all day the kids wanted to stay. someone not the waitress came and took our drink order. When our waitress finally came over she had no clue about some of the food choices she had to keep going to ask the kitchen and there are no substitutes, if you get fries and ask for ketchup be prepared to pay $1 for each tiny cup. another family from our town came in after we ordered our drinks and sit with us, we asked if that okay they said yes they will just split up the ticket. This was a Lie we had to pay a higher prices for the crappy food we got because they were short staffed and we all set together to help them. After we finally got our food it was cold, my chicken fried steak was undercooked slimy not good at all, I got a baked potato without sour cream and had to pay $1 for a tiny cup of ranch. my kid ordered a $24 meal was asked about sauce but they neglected again to say there would be a charge for said sauce That was unused. My DIL ordered the shrimp and fish the shrimp was also slimy and uneditable, we did tell the waitress and she did not care, we asked for manager and he was worse than the waitress! He didn't care about any of our concerns. We will definitely never go back! This is one of the worst food experiences I have had. read more

Crawfish were awesome. Just the right amount of spice and peeled easy. The fish and shrimp dinner was the best I've ever had. It was fresh and cooked perfectly. Also had the fried pickles as an appetizer. I don't like fried pickles. Their fried pickles were the bomb. I will definitely order them again. Service was great. All in all it was a great experience.
