Dang, that was awful. I don't know who introduced them to BBQ, but this is not it. Not even close. It's equivalent to the Lloyds Ribs and Slop you get in the supermarket. Everything was over seasoned to the point of it being not good. I had such high hopes for this place, but sadly I was let down. The ribs were cooked well, and the slid off of the bone. But the Pulled pork was a soupy mixture of bbq sauce and some meat in it. On the plus side the shakes were pretty good, and the kids enjoyed them. You also label yourself as a bourbon bar, unless I missed something my thought of a bourbon bar would be more than 6 choices. My high school shop teacher had a better selection at his desk. We only waited on a Saturday night about 15 minutes for a table, if even that, and the food was very fast as well. Was excited to try this new local spot. Disappointed. I ordered the whole dang family meal which is a full rack of ribs 1 lb of choice meat, sides and corn muffins So first issue is there are 2 menus one stating 4 sides (2 regular and 2 family size ) (see picture ) and another menu which only shows 2 sides. That's the one I saw after being told i dont know why the site says that but it's only 2 sides. FIX YOUR SITE TO SHOW THE RIGHT STUFF So we ordered the mac and cheese and cole slaw. And a small side of fries. When it arrived all the food was barely warm.im only 1.5 miles from restaurant... a 4 minute drive according to Google maps..no reason for nearly cold food that needed to be reheated.. And the entire cole slaw side was missing. So I called. They were super nice about it... 30 minutes later slaw was delivered. I get you may be busy but again kinda crazy. The ribs had to be put in oven as they were undercooked (see pic.)Kinda flavorless The chopped brisket wasnt bad. Just needed to be reheated. Corn muffins were awesome size and pretty tasty. Really great place! I wish I got more pictures. Everything is portioned sooo huge. The starter "trash can chips" come in a mini trash can looking can thing and fall out the bottom onto a large platter- it's so fun but it is a largeee portion. Stopped in during the soft opening & was moderately disappointed. Following on instagram & looking at their offerings really got us excited to try DANG BBQ. While I enjoy the aesthetics of this new restaurant in town, there were a lot of kinks to be worked out. We were not approached by a server for quite some time & spent a majority of our visit looking around for anyone that could assist us. Of the two sauces I picked for my boneless wings, I enjoyed neither. Mac Skillet agreeably disappointing. Ribs were very dry. I opted for a 3 star review instead of the less than 3 stars I feel the experience deserved since they were not officially opened. Went into Dang BBQ today with my two kids. Of course I only realized I forgot the stroller after we arrived and the car seat was too heavy to carry. I expected it to be a miserable lunch date with a crying baby and no way for me to be able to eat. Boy was I wrong. The staff was sweet, accommodating, and friendly. Our server, Lacey, made small talk to my older daughter while I calmed down the baby. She helped with our straws and getting things into order so I could eat with my free hand. She even packed everything for us to go once baby had had enough. I can not say how much this meant to me when so often you're met by annoyed servers and staff. It was a wonderful dining experience. The food was delicious and the shakes are soooo good. My daughter is begging to go back after school for another shake tomorrow. I got the BBQ shrimp and fries - amazing! I brought home the mesquite bbq chicken for my husband and OMG it was delicious!! My husband and I will for sure be back on a date night to try some of the boozy shakes on their menu. read more

Tonight A group of friends and I decided to go out for dinner. We were looking for something good. We had been to the dang BBQ located in Islip heard they opened a new place in Seaford. we happened to be in the area and decided to stop for a quick bite. there was a little bit of a weight but that is to be expected for a new place that serves as amazing food as we had tonight. We had such a great time. Our server was over-the-top out of this world. She was knowledgeable of the menu and our food was delivered piping hot and quickly. Most importantly every bit of food that came out of that kitchen was done correctly. We had absolutely no issue and can't wait to go back. They have a great bar with a great selection of beers. They even stocked my favorite beer which is a vanilla bourbon Ale. We ordered a an order of wings. The waitress after joking around with us understood we were trying to limit carbs. She recommended that we get the wings grilled. I have to tell you these were probably the best wings I had had in such a long time. They were juicy and big and properly sauced. As my main entree I ordered the slider platter. The platter came with two sliders that were loaded with meat. I ordered a pulled pork slider and a brisket slider. I also ordered a thing of mac and cheese. The mac and cheese was cooked well and I would say honestly had the perfect amount of cheese on it. My kids had wings and they love them. We were excited about this place, we started off good... with good BBQ kettle chips. My little one enjoyed his burger and fries which came out extremely fast. Hubby and I shared 2 dishes, the poultryrito and the smoked turkey meal. We needed to choose 2 sides and were disappointed that both the baked beans and Brussels sprouts both had pork in it since we don't eat it. So we ended up with the slaw and Mac n cheese. The slaw was fine but the Mac n cheese was just too heavy for us. My hubby took a bite of the poultryrito and pulled out a huge piece of skin, not something that we expected or welcomed. That was it for him, so he ate the smoked turkey plate (which too had a pretty big chunk of skin on it but we saw it before it ended up on the fork!). First and foremost the staff was incredibly welcoming, the service was great. I love barbecue, nothing is better than the American tradition of barbecue. When I walk up the sweet billowing smoke of hickory, pecan, mesquite and other woods burning gets me excited. Walking up to Dang was the stench of spoiled garbage. Literally a massive trash bin, where's the wood? Where's the barbecue? It's poor cuts of meat slathered in cheap sauce. No smoke, no smoke rings on the meat. Overly fried, sauced nonsense. Just completely disappointed. Order was a two meat platter - recommended chopped brisket, smoked turkey, sides slaw and sweet potato fries. It's in a weird building. You park in the back and then walk back around to the front to get in . We went at 2pm . Walk in and there is no one there . This restaurant is on the right hand side. There were several bartenders , several dirty empty tables . But it did t look like a restaurant, so we weren't sure if we were in the right place . There was no kitchen , and like , no kitchen smell - no Smokey bbq smell . We stood around for five minutes, and finally yelled over to the people behind the bar and asked if they were open . They said to sit anywhere . The female bartender came over and gave us the menus and said hello . Still took a bit to get beer . We asked if they cooked the food on the Premises because , there was no kitchen . There is a golf indoor driving range there too , so it was strange . The wings were squishy , not crispy or crunchy . The Mac and cheese was cold , but they brought us out fresh ones that were hot . The burnt ends were delicious and the milk shake was delicious. Portion on the burnt ends was a good size for $18 . The menu said it came with onion strings , but there were a tablespoon of almost like Frenches onions on top like what you would use in a string been casserole. I feel like it should have come with a side , like something . I think if I went again I would definitely get those burnt ends again and maybe try the ribs . It was brightly lit . No mood lighting or comfy chairs . If we could have sat away from the door , we could have relaxed a bit more but the other tables weren't cleared so we had to watch men marching in with their full golf bags . Visited after 8 on a Friday night. First bad sign was people waiting to be seated when there were plenty of open tables. After a short wait to be seated, we waited at our table for 20-25 minutes without being addressed by the wait staff. At that point we decided to just get and up and leave. Ill start by saying that yeah, this restaurant is appropriately named. Because Dang thats some good food. This review is far from obligatory. I'm a total BBQ junkie. I'm dangerously close to being obsessed with it. I have 2 smokers of my own and i take pride in my Q. Needless to say, it takes alot to impress me when it comes to BBQ in today's world where there seems to be a BBQ joint popping up on every corner. Most of which aren't much more than simple smoked meat and standard sides. My normal move is to go to a Q joint, figure out a way to taste and evaluate each of the meats and sides and decide if it's any better than the other guy and worth a return trip. Until yesterday, there's only been two Q places I've found worthy, Hoodoo Brown in Connecticut and Smokin Al's here on the island. Now Dang BBQ is on the list. It may be the "next level" Q joint that I've been looking for. I've only tasted the pulled pork and brisket so far but both were excellent. But it's the menu choices that separate Dang from the other guys. There are so many unique and creative choices that it was really difficult to choose. For the appetizer we went with the pretzel. Wow, this thing was massive, soft with a crisp exterior and really tasty. It was topped with pulled pork and brisket and I'll tell you that both were impressive. Super tender, flavorful and not dry. That's quite an accomplishment with brisket. Kudos to the pit master. It also came with a nice cheese sauce and a pimento dip. I don't love pimento so i won't comment on that but the cheese sauce was quite good. I should mention that i also judge Q joints by the sauces. You can't call yourself a good pit master if you can't make a good sauce. So naturally i tried them all The standard Q sauces were Carolina, sweet and chipotle. All 3 were excellent. I loved the chipotle and Carolina. The Alabama white was pretty good but to me it seemed to have something missing. This may have been because alabama white really only pairs well with certain things. The other one i loved was their version of a bbq ranch. Yum. My one and only disappointment was the "hot & spicy" Q sauce. I found it to be a little heavy on the vinegar. Oh, and they also put some fresh made potato chips on the table which were delicious and really helped with the sampling of the sauce. They have a real good tap beer menu as well. As for the food, oh mamma ! Big props for their creativity. The garbage skillet is brilliant and absolutely delicious. Not to mention plentiful and the briskey business burrito shares the same description. The cheddar corn bread is real good although its a bit dense to eat straight up but the next day it toasts up great with a pat of butter. They've really done a great job creating dishes beyond the standard meat & sides menu of your ever day Q joints. I can't wait to go back and try the several other interesting items on the menu. read more

This place really doesn't care. Last year, I placed a very large order with them and they sent me an incorrect item. When I called, they wanted me to pick it up as if it was my fault. After some back and forth with a manager, I got a partial refund. Thought I wouldn't order again bc of their attitude, but tried again tonight. They left the coleslaw off my husband's sandwich, didn't include sauce with our onion rings, and my pulled pork didn't have bbq sauce either. There is no option on Grub Hub to select the sauce flavor but you would think the restaurant would at least give it to you on the side since it is supposed to come with a sauce. We got the classic burger, the pulled pork sandwich with sweet bbq (actually, chicken is what arrived, so I guess technically the order got mixed up, but it was still delicious), and the texas toast steak melt. The food was okay but the manager Frank was horrible. I called the restaurant earlier & asked if my sister in law & I could buy 2 local flavor certificates. She put me on hold & asked. She returned to the phone & told me yes. So I bought 2 local flavor certificates. When we asked for the bill to redeem the 2 certificates, the waitress said she had to ask the manager. When Frank the manager came over, he told us no that we couldn't use 2 & it didn't matter what his employee said. He said it was just 1 per table. Even though if we came separately he would honor both certificates. He was getting an attitude, got nasty & obnoxious. Just because of that attitude, I would never return. We went on a Saturday night at around 7:00 and we had to wait no less than 30 seconds after walking inside. Walking inside, we were kindly greeted and brought to our perfectly, socially distanced table with a big bottle of hand sanitizer on it. Each table had plexiglass to space out each one. The atmosphere of this restaurant was very, as the kids say, "chill"; this might not make sense to you but to me, it was dark but bright at the same time? Our waitress made the experience a lot better with her fun and upbeat personality. When I told her the sauce I wanted on my entree, she said "good for you, I could never!" She was very personable and if I'm not mistaken, I think her name is Carly. Each party was given a bowl of homemade potato chips that are so easy to pick at (maybe that's why I couldn't finish my meal). Lance and I shared the traditional wings as our appetizer with the Nashville Hot sauce. I NEVER complain about wings but my only one with these was that when I ate the last one, there was no more for me to eat! I was very depressed. If you know me, you know I could live and breathe hot sauce and I wouldn't be surprised if that's what my blood actually was. We both agreed on the rating of 9/10 because of how good they were with the different bbq sauces put on the table. My favorite sauce was the Caroline Gold and I wish I had taken the bottle home. All of the sauces (including Nashville Hot) had a great kick to it but nothing too extreme where I needed to chug a gallon of milk along with it. Laura and David shared boneless mild bbq wings as their appetizer and showed no complaints but only compliments; she gave a 9/10. As my main dish, I ordered the pulled pork with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. The portions here are definitely worth the price and it's a sad feeling when you can't finish your meal in the same sitting, but it's great knowing you can wake up the next day to enjoy it again (which I did!). The pork was so tender and toothsome. I had asked to get the spicy bbq sauce and that's when our waitress had made her statement towards me. She wasn't wrong with what she said, it was a little overpowering but of course, nothing I couldn't handle. I would suggest maybe a more mild sauce and adding the spicy ones as you go along with eating. The sweet potato fries were delicious. They were warm, crispy, and they went GREAT with the Carolina sauce. I had also pretended they were almost like nachos and ate them with the pork and I couldn't have made a better choice; I also didn't think about any salt or pepper to them because they in no way needed extra flavoring. Trust me, they're no Fuel Your Body fries but definitely worth getting again. The coleslaw was not great. I truly would not get it again because it was swimming in the dressing just as much as Michael Phelps in the Olympics. I maybe took just a few bites until the rest of the bowl was drowning; I would maybe try getting their baked beans next time. To be honest, my favorite part of my meal was the piece of cornbread that came with my food. I'm not a cornbread kind of person but for some reason, this piece was calling my name as it was showing how moist and delicious it looked. My rating: 7/10 Laura had ordered the pork, creamed spinach, and baked bbq beans. She didn't have much to complain about other than she was not the biggest fan of the spinach. Her favorite part of the meal were the baked beans (as that was said as one of the restaurant favorites). She very much enjoyed her pork and had gotten the mild sauce with it. However one of our children's meals didn't come out with the rest of them and if you have kids you know that's not good. I think the kitchen may have messed that up. I wanted to try this place for a while. The front desk was unattended by a host. So we stood there longer than usual before we were seated at a table. . This waiting for help was a theme of the place. I saw Three people work but no-one doing anything. Noone around the area were customers are the dinning room, I'm in. Our meals arrive with 3 orders of fries - no ketchup. The server left the food and disappeared for several minutes. I finally got up to go to the bar for ketchup. Dang bad service! Food was ok the fries are not great like super market frozen variety. I did like the carolina gold sauce. The burger and the wrangler sandwich was good. I liked the concept and wished it was better it was like the staff thought they were all boss and left the patrons to be served by the bus boy.
