GTO is finished. The last owner was the nastiest prick in the world, and now the new owner has destroyed the place. Number one the chicken is dried out like a leather cowboy boot, Number two the orders are always missing items every time you pick up, Number three he has recently changed their freshly made salsa, which was great, to literally garbage from a jar or a can which was absolutely horrible, same with a yogurt sauce, no longer how it used to be. I'll start with the positives. Real, quality ingredients. Considering inflation these days the prices aren't bad. It isn't cheap but you're not getting garbage. What we had a problem with was the chicken and pork was very over cooked and dry making it flavorless. Steak was good. I have a habit of judging a place by their salads. We ordered two different salads and it was all lettuce and very limited additions. I had to cut up my own produce and add it to the salads to make it better. Note to owner.... The balsamic vinaigrette and Caesar dressing are horrible. The concept of this place is great, quality healthier take out. The product and delivery of this concept needs help and can be fixed. I've been going to this restaurant for years probably since it opened. And I'm sure it's changed may hand since then. I placed an order a simple order 2 steak sandwiches. I live about 4 miles from the place. My son ran in and grabbed the order got home and realized the wrong name was on the order. Now they did ask my son if he ordered a steak sandwich and a burger keep in mind I placed the order he did not know what I ordered. So can anybody tell me does Dan sound like Patrick ? The girl didn't pay attention to anything I said. So I called and headed back they said there was a mix up and tried to blame my son for taking the order like I said he did not know what I ordered. I was put on hold 3 times and was still on hold when I walked in the place. I asked for the manager who was clueless. Explained everything he made the excuse they were busy and mistakes happen. I get it. He tried to rectify it but at this point I just wanted a refund to my card which he couldn't even do he had to give me cash and kept telling me I was making him feel bad. Well you should get better help instead of a bunch of girls standing around and pay more attention when taking an order. It's a shame it's been a long time I'm going there. Decent spot on Broadway that I'd say is primarily higher class take out food with nice size portions. Got take out for lunch and had two pretty good meals. The wife Got the small caesar salad with cajun chicken and I got the #6 steak wrap. The salad was a good size and chicken was cooked cooked and seasoned well, however the dressing was terrible caesar dressing. The wrap was good and had plenty of skirt steak. Got a large order of fries to split which were awesome. However I'd say the small would have been better, way to many fries lol. I ordered from here on doordash. Waited over an hour. No food. This restaurant called me and told me that no one has come and no one is waiting for the food like doordash said. They took the time to reach out to inform me that my food was waiting. Not only did they do that, but remade the food because we said we would come to get it personally. The food here is always amazing. The open steak sandwich is top tier. The burgers are juicy and tasty. And the salmon is delicious. Amazing food mixed with phenomenal etiquette. You can't beat it. The owner Todd is a miserable creep who never smiles or shows any appreciation for regular customers or anybody that walks in. If you're looking to eat healthy and fresh this is the best food on Long Island. Everything is cooked to order. The gyros, wraps, salads, burgers, and fries are all delicious. The lunch specials are usually under $8. The BBQ sauce is one of my favorites, dark and smokey as opposed to red and ketchupy. If you're ordering out and need ketchup and utensils ask for them because they don't usually put them in the bag. Their salads are truly the best I've had and it's all because of the Caesar dressing. It's unlike any you had because it's actually very simple with many classic Caesar ingredients removed. I like to get the Caesar dressing with the leaf salad because it has red onions, tomatoes, sun dried tomatoes, and red roasted peppers. Also, I don't know where they get their hot jack cheese from but I'm pretty sure it's made with crack. I haven't been to this place in almost 10yrs. It was only while searching for Mexican food that this place popped up. Glad it did. This is one of those place I've forgotten about that I shouldn't have. Place is twice the size it was years ago. The food is as good as I remember. All I have to tell you is there is a menu item that looks very inconspicuous that is so amazing you need to know about it. Back when it was called a "Romanian steak sandwich" The menu now calls it an "open face steak sandwich" No matter what they call it, I call it awesome. It's chargrilled skirt steak cooked to perfection on a garlic bread bun topped with melted mozzarella cheese. Served with a side of hot hand cut fries, lettuce and tomato. It may be the greatest sandwich ever made, that should be eaten with a fork. read more

I really hate to do this but when professionalism is out the window I have to put it in my review. I went to GTO 12/13/23 and was told at 8:20 p.m. they are no longer taking orders because they are breaking down equipment to clean up and finishing their current orders. The establishment is supposed to be open till 9:00 p.m. and I did mention to the woman in charge that I had been calling since 8:11 and no one was answering. She started to get angry with me and accused me of yelling at her. At no time did I ever raise my voice nor would I to any employee because it's disrespectful. When an establishment posts that it's closing time is 9:00 p.m., I expect to be able to walk in at 8:20 and be able to place a to go order. I was told that I can only have gyro or premade salad because they need to clean. I've been coming to this place over 10 years since I lived in massapequa. Really really disappointed. The food is alright, but the service at this place is always terrible. When you order they tell you 20 minutes, and its either: - already cold and congealing when you get there; - they forgot to make part of the order; or - didn't bother starting your order yet; and - they always screw up what you order. My final straw visit was they told me the order wasn't ready after arriving at the 20 minute pickup time. I was stupid enough to pay when I arrived so they had me trapped. There were a few orders ready behind the glass and two bags up on the counter above. Long story short: my order had been ready when I got there, it was on the counter, despite checking on the status several times, they had me wait almost an hour more. I pointed out, as calmly as I could, that the bag they gave me had been there almost as soon as I had arrived and it had been sitting up there getting cold while I had been waiting, staring at it. The useless teenager at the counter just shrugged "I don't know how that happened". Can you believe the gall? It happened because she was a lazy idiot and wouldn't look at all the orders while she fiddled on her phone! I quickly ran out because I was seething after sitting there so long, faced with a staff of morons, and would have exploded (and had a family waiting to eat even cold food). There had been a second teenager working the counter who never found the order either, nor did the "manager" who idiotically just deferred to the lazy counter-girl's assessment that it was, for 40 minutes "almost ready". This was just the final, most egregious example of the uselessness displayed by the staff. And PS, they got that last order wrong too, as always. read more

Love the food here! You definitely get what you pay for and more. The pita with the yogurt sauce is a must, I get some every time I'm here. There wraps are big so I usually split it and save half for later. The wait is a little long but worth it. The food is always fresh and tasty. You get to even pick whatever wrap you want. The place is small but you can eat there if desired they have a few tables inside. My favorite wrap there is the Cajun chicken on the whole wheat wrap, but I've tried at least 4 other wraps and they're all delicious. read more

I called to place an order and they said it would be AN HOUR. For 4 hamburgers. I figured they'd be the best ever with a wait like that. The husband goes in to pick them up and he said there were 2 other people in there. WTF? As for the burger itself, it was cooked unevenly (part pink, part gray) and kinda hard. It was huge though. I've had better and worse. The onion rings were good, though do not eat them unless you have Tums nearby. The fries were limp and the kind with the skin on them. Order often for a group, however that will be ending due constantly nasty customer service, not from any of the cooks or the girls but from what I deem either a poor expeditor or manager AND found pieces of metal from a wire brush or a brillow in with the french fries. When i first found this place it was pretty good. But over the years it got worse and worse. I get mainly the steak wraps and there seems to be a lot more of the wrap and not enough of whats supposed to be inside it. I find myself picking off most of the wrap. Theres just something about the wraps that is off.... It might be the weird texture in them?? Sometimes they're a little "wet"? Lol. One time i got the pepper and steak wrap and they char the pepper but fail to peel off the char bc when eating it, tastes like i got plastic in my wrap!! Being in a italian town you need to know how to make roasted peppers. Definitely not worth the money read more
