I use to work here during the pandemic and the owner is always sweet and very creative when it comes to decorating cakes and coming up new cup cake flavor. My husband and I enjoy a good fancy cupcake and we've been trying to find a good one out in SCV. We we came across Dangling Carrot we were excited to have a new option. He purchased a banana something cupcake, churro, and red velvet. They were decent cupcakes. But they weren't anything that I'm itching to have again. Somehow they managed to be moist yet crumbly at the same time. When I took off the paper to cut a piece off it just crumbled which I didn't enjoy. I think of the 3 flavors, I most enjoyed the churro. The red velvet was more on the chocolatey side of red velvet than the tangy which I prefer. You can tell that they do use quality ingredients. The staff was also friendly. Oh and he also got a drink which he said was good. If we're nearby I may try a different flavor to see if the crumbly texture may have been a fluke. read more

This review is long past overdue. Every once in awhile a truly fantastic gem pops up in Santa Clarita Valley, and Dangling Carrot is absolutely one of them. To start, the storefront is adorable. Clean, well kept, usually seasonally decorated with the sweetest display of daily cupcakes, cookies and sometimes cake pops. They serve coffee and ice cream there too! Besides being adorable, the quality, price and taste of their products is enough for me to go up two sizes this year! (Kidding, but not kidding, I'm in love) Jokes aside, it's so good I try to pick up a dozen cupcakes whenever we have a special occasion for a nice treat such as first day of school, friends birthdays etc. My boys favorite flavor cupcake is for sure the Churro (sweet cinnamon cake with luscious cream cheese frosting?) and the banana chocolate chip-made with real bananas! My husband loves their seasonal flavor Apple crisp. The most significant part of this review though is the customer service-we ordered a custom smash cake for our sons 1st birthday. It turned out amazing, and the owner was so accommodating of our request and was very easy to work with. Very reasonably priced for a custom cake, we also ordered on rather short notice and the owner never made us feel bad about it. We received tons of compliments on the cake (we went with vanilla birthday cake) and the assorted cupcakes we purchased as well: churro, red velvet, butter pecan and apple crisp-not a single cupcake left, and very little cake leftover. I was greeted immediately by Marley (spelling? sorry!!). She was friendly and kind. I told her what I wanted, she asked me to have a seat and it would be done shortly. She warned me that it was very hot when she handed it to me; I appreciate the warning because while I'm a grown woman, I often take a sip too early I drove away to pick up my nephew before I took a sip. I was going back and forth with an employee via email to discuss the details of the cake. I did not hear back from them after two days of discussions so I decided to call. They only then, told me they wouldn't be able to make my cake. Two or three days had gone by before they informed me of this and I had to contact them to be told that. I lost out on days of finding another bakery before my event . Horrible customer service and not reliable business. Marlene, I contacted your company June 5th and was told that you guys would take my order and to email what I want done so I did just that on June 5th. So again, it took 2 to 3 days to tell me you weren't going to take my order after already stating that you would. This was just the first email. There is a spot over by the Edwards Cinema that is pretty well hidden and if you know it is there, you can grab yourself a really tasty cupcake! I'm not sure how long Dangling Carrot Confections has been at this location but I do remember this location has always been a bakery/sweets spot for some time. I went in after having a pretty good sized lunch (or was it lunches) and as I drove by I wondered if they were open. Sure enough the sugar gods were on my side and I went in and ordered a Cinnamon Roll Cupcake. The frosting on top is what sold me to get it. And yes, it does taste like a Cinnamon Roll without the gooey mess. Usually I'm not a person who like to eat sweets but this really hit the spot for me. For this review and like many others I rarely give out 5 stars, 4 means that I will be back to try something else and that yes it's great! I get the impression this place is really for those looking to get a special occasion cake like a wedding cake, the displays look incredible. I can't say enough good things about Dangling Carrot Confections! The owner and staff are the absolute sweetest and they have become my favorite bakery! My first experience was at a wedding that we worked together. The bride had a beautiful dessert table set up by Dangling Carrot Confections and we were able to take some goodies home at the end of the night. The brownies, cookies, and cake pops were so good! Everything is always so beautifully made too. I was so excited when they opened their shop, I had to pay a visit!The cupcakes are delicious. The churro flavor is definitely a favorite! I also love the raspberry burst and of course the carrot! I've had some yummy blended coffee drinks from there as well. But what has become my absolute favorite are their sugar cookies!
