I'm still seeing Dr. Raffy (over ten years now!) for my problematic veins and he continues to be the most amazing doctor and a superior human being in general. He is literally the only person I will let touch my legs. A long time ago, before he was my doctor I had someone treat my veins and it left pigmentation. Other times the treatment from others just didn't work and cost me so much money and time. Dr Raffy is the only double board certified doctor in both vein medicine and plastic surgery in the country! I trust him completely and just love talking to him. I have a lot of allergies and dark skin, so I'm not the easiest person to treat. Yikes it's been almost 2 years and I haven't left a review yet. I was referred by my daughter. Yes of course! I highly recommend Dr Raffy. He did a facial fat transfer, and a rhinoplasty on me in March 2024. He was also kind enough to remove extra fat from my abdomen for free during the procedure. It's been a year and a half. The results speak for themself. The facial fat transfer is symmetrical and completely unnoticeable. People are shocked when they find out my age. Even I am confused until I remember Dr Raffy did a fat transfer lol. The extra flap of fat I had on my abdomen is gone. I can't remember what it was like before Dr Raffy make it go away, but I imagine there was a lot more time spent in the dressing room. The rhinoplasty not only looks amazing there are no complications with breathing through it too. One of my favorite things about Dr Raffy is he doesn't push expensive products or procedures on you. I have been coming to Dr. Karamanoukian on and off for the past 2 years for help with dissolving old fillers in my face that were making me look feminine and bloated. I went to many other doctors that overcharged me and continued to gaslight me throughout the dissolving process when I wasn't seeing results. Dr. Karamanoukian was the only doctor I could find that actually understood and empathized with my concerns and was actually able to finally help me with dissolving my fillers through use of ultrasound guidance and high doses of hyaluronidase. My dissolving process is still ongoing due to the complexity of my case and the type of fillers that I have had injected in the past, but I am in a MUCH better spot aesthetically and mentally than I was in the past all thanks to Dr. Karamanoukian's knowledge and support. Dr. Karamoukian was very terse, condescending, and never even answered my question that I literally asked twice during my tense, brief time with him. He didn't even examine my leg which was appropriately exposed for him to evaluate. Told me I did not have DVT and to come back in 4 months (my cardiologist had ordered a doppler to be done because Dr. K's office couldn't see me for well over a month after my call that I had developed a hard, painful, discolored lump in a varicose vein, etc. The doppler showed no DVT, so it was ok for me to wait for my appointment many weeks later with Karamoukian). I went to a different practice one week later (someone recommended by my cardiologist upon hearing of my experience with Dr. K), where I had a completely different experience where a sonogram was done, things were explained to me, and my questions answered. I will be having a procedure next month. I conveyed my experience with Dr. K to them and while they were very sympathetic with their wide eyed, head shaking reaction - they did not seem surprised. Clearly, I am not the first person to have a very negative experience with him. The whole thing was very odd, because the first time I went to him for phlebitis a few years prior, he was cordial and joking. When it comes to medical care, I think finding a stable practitioner who is reliable in the care of his patients is essential. This appointment was a real head spinner and I've lost trust in his entire practice. Needless to say, I will not be going back to his practice which I found to be unacceptable. read more

I have never left a plastic surgeon's office CRYING!! I took multiple hours to calm myself down before writing this review. I am SHOCKED at the way he spoke to me and treated me. I went to see him for silicone removal and was already %90 sure and ready to get it done with him. His manners changed my mind. He was so standoffish and couldn't answer any of my questions clearly, had a MASSIVE ego, was rude and condescending. Multiple times I asked him if he thinks I'm a good candidate for the procedure and to help me gain an understanding of what to expect and he COULD NOT answer these very standard questions. He ended up leaving our consultation abruptly and rudely without saying bye. I felt so terrible I left the office and immediately got in my car and started crying for how badly he talked to me and then left the room as if he was annoyed at me for asking questions. After all i'm spending thousands of dollars, going under anesthesia and taking a big risk, I should be able to ask my questions freely and feel cared for by my surgeon. I found Dr. Karamanoukian primarily through surgical blogs he is contributing to. And I'm so lucky I did. For few years on and off I was looking for a doctor who specializes in lip implant removal. The implants I had for few years were Permalip. It was a mistake to have them done to begin with. As supposedly "easy" they are to remove, not a lot of doctors are willing to take on such a procedure. Dr. Karamanoukian did. I called his office, was able to email photos and got doctors initial evaluation the SAME DAY. The lady I spoke with was also able to squeeze me into his schedule same week for an in-person consultation. After meeting the doctor and discussing my situation I felt instantly comfortable and confident in his competence. He was discussing both options of keeping and removing the implants, going over pros and cons. I DIDN'T FEEL PRESSURED at all and I didn't feel like I was being sold any extra services. All the people in the office were GENUINELY NICE, which I find quite rare this days. And I was super lucky to be able to have the procedure done the same day. As a person terrified of needles, of course I was nervous, but the only uncomfortable part was the anesthesia injection, the rest was very easy. No pressure, pulling or pain at all. I felt like the doctor TOOK HIS TIME and didn't rush. I was out in half an under hour from the treatment room. I normally don't write reviews but I feel compelled to do so. I decided to get a fractional laser treatment for a hardly visible scar on my forehead due to a car accident that happened years ago. They first numbed the section before starting the laser treatment and I thought everything went well but as the day progressed a blister formed and it eventually popped that night. The following day when I woke up I was left with an infected wound on the area where the blister popped, I freaked out and called the doctors office immediately and they asked me to take pictures and send it to them. They prescribed a cream for me to apply to the affected area and told me to come in and see the doctor. Dr. Raffy was trying to be helpful and he suggested other procedures he can do to help make it better. He highly suggested I do a prp treatment which is just an injection using your own blood to promote collagen. I allowed him to do it since it's non invasive or a laser treatment. I didn't feel like that helped out much and I didn't trust him anymore after that. I been seeing a good doctor in NYC to help fix Dr. Raffy's mistake but scars are permanent and can only improve so much. It's been a year now since I saw Dr. Raffy and I am still left with a depressed scar and I look worse than when I first walked in his office. I am a model and I rely on my appearance and now my confidence is low and I can't go anywhere without someone asking me what happened to my face. Dr. Raffi made my life hell. I had breast asymmetry, which he had to correct by installing a large implant in the smaller breast and a smaller one in the larger one. After the operation, I noticed that the asymmetry had worsened, but the doctor assured me that he had not made a mistake and suggested that I have a larger breast lift, which would have left a huge scar on it. Every day the asymmetry intensified, when my boyfriend called him to say that we were unhappy with the procedure and this needed to be corrected, he, without listening to us, shouted into the phone and hung up, after which he began writing hysterical messages. I turned to other doctors and they recommended removing the implants with possible lifting and fat filling, since my skin was stretched due to the installed implants. During the removal of the implants, it was discovered that Dr. Raffi had installed them in the wrong directions (small to small and large to large). He also falsified the medical record, indicating data as if he had done everything as planned. His mistakes cost me my health, several anesthesia, depression, problems with my work and personal life, and a huge financial investment that I can still imagine making to correct his mistakes. My best progress pic YET! An update on my treatments from the amazing Dr. K! *Feel free to see my review on here from 2018, which i also updated in 2019, for my full experience and more progress updates.* After just 5 visits to Dr. K (i flew from San Francisco to LA each time) spread out over 1.5 years, w/ injections + laser treatments, my scar is VISIBLY REDUCED both in puffiness & redness. In fact, all that is remaining is some redness in the middle, which I am still treating ongoing with lasers @ Dr. K's. The most surprising part to me: The top part of my scar is GONE. The parts of the scar that are reduced are actually the same skin tone as my non-scarred skin, and just as flat. The main knotty, hard keloid that was in the middle of my chest is barely even raised anymore. In my future appointments, my goal is to reduce the remaining redness. read more

Dr K removed silicone from my upper lip, the procedure itself did not hurt. I'm letting you in on my recovery process so that you know what you might expect. Week 1 no eating solid food. Can not brush the top of teeth, hurts to even smile. After 7 days felt ok to leave the house and be seen (no more swollen muppet face.) Week 2 one side of top lip is much more swollen than the other. Scabs are starting to come off. At 2 week follow up, all scabs are off. Dr K said I have lots of scar tissue which I can feel, need to massage daily. Hurts like hell. Week 4 prednisone injection and massaging 15-30mins a day. Finally feeling hopeful that I can break up the scar tissue. Week 5 most of the swelling went down overnight and the scar tissue is soft. Week 6 Dr said I did an amazing job on the scar tissue. There is still a hard area in the center. He said to massage it for 1 more month A month later scar tissue is soft and I am happy with the results. I really like Dr. K he has a great personality and does great work. read more

I'm soo glad and grateful I found Dr. K. I wanted to work with him for a lipoma removal because not only does he use a technique that reduces the size of the incision, he specializes in keloids so would be able to address my concern about one developing after the surgery since I'm prone to keloids. During the consultation, Dr. K patiently explained how he treats lipomas and keloids, and assured me that he'll monitor the healing so that he can treat the keloid if one actually does appear. Also, he let me decide if I wanted local or general anesthesia and was willing to work with my insurance because the lipoma caused some discomfort, which I really really appreciated. On the day of the surgery, Dr. K asked if I wanted a horizontal or vertical incision, but recommended a horizontal one so that my bra can more easily cover it. Throughout the surgery, he checked in with me to make sure I was okay and voiced over what was happening because I was curious. I knew he was going to be able to make a smaller incision, but to my surprise, it was only a third of the size of the lipoma! And as promised, Dr. K monitored the healing/scar through two follow-ups. (In the last one he told me that there's no chance of a keloid!) TLDR: Dr. K is an empathetic and skilled doctor who always considered my preferences. Got my Miradry treatment done by Dr K. The whole experience was awesome. Sadly, I'm not the 80% that only need 1 treatment. I used to sweat sweatmarks the size of a large Yukon potato just by driving. Add some stress and it's bigger. I sweat less (the size of a small red potato) now but it's still not where I want to be. I'll be back for a second treatment. Parking is easy as it's a private lot. Booking is super easy too. You do need to give them your credit card info to book if it's past a certain price mark I think. My RN was caring, she walked me to my uber when all of it was over. I'm not a pretentious house wife that gets Botox and they treated me like a friend. So don't believe what the others say about shit attitude. They're nice if you're nice. It's simple. I swear I don't have body dysmorphia but I can't wait to come back and get something done. Dr K truly cares and I feel it. Other places let RNs do non invasive treatments but Dr K did my treatment.
