But after reading those reviews in its entirety. My husband and I decided to give them a call for an estimate. I spoke with Joe the owner of The Paint Pro's. He was able to come out and give me an estimate that same day which was awesome. He arrived at the scheduled appointment time which is always a plus. We told him what we wanted painted but we really didn't have any colors in mind we just knew we needed a paint job. Joe suggested some colors that I would have never considered and little did we know that we would go with those suggested colors and our walls would look amazing. After the estimate the next day we decided that we wanted to go with The Paint Pro's. The price was very reasonable and if Joe feels that you don't need a wall or a room painted, he won't paint it, it not about painting more rooms to get extra money with this company. Joe had such an amazing personality. He was very pleasant, had a great sense of humor and was very knowledgeable about paint. Joe came that same day we called him and spackle the walls. The next day he arrived and began. The job was suppose to take two days. However, Joe finished everything in one day. Communication was excellent and he explained everything he was going to do and everything he was doing. Joe went above and beyond and definitely exceeded our expectations. I waited to write this review on purpose because I wanted to wait and let the Paint settle and look at it in every angle and under all the possible lighting and I have absolutely no complaints. Others claimed that they were legitimately licensed and insured however, when asked to provide the proper information, they magically disappeared. There were those who did show up and were licensed but handed us a crumpled piece of paper with one line literally giving us a price. Being a homeowner, when I hire someone to do work in the house, I always deal with licensed and insured people. I want others to know that it is very easy to call consumer affairs to check on the status (or lack there of)of a contractor's license. I don't necessarily go for the least expensive either. I found that those who could not provide me with legitimate licensure were the ones who gave the lower figures. There's a reason for that. My husband and I were very pleased after our initial meeting with John Strahle and his son Justin. Unlike many of the other people, whom I would not have even considered, they didn't just ask me to send them pictures of the kitchen merely because they were too lazy to come to give an estimate. They made the appointment, showed up in a timely manner and explained the entire process concisely and clearly. They didn't just throw a number at us to see if it would stick. Thought went into it before I was presented with a very professional and thorough contract in a timely manner. Justin has been working diligently in our house this week. He has been extremely careful in prepping and sealing off any area that was not to get painted. We went from having our main cabinets a sangria brown finish with a white island to having the cabinets painted in off White and the island and amazing shade of blue. Wow! It really pops. Now I can understand why the references that I was given were so pleased with the job that John and Justin did in their homes. I had spoken to a gentleman with a very high end home in Bridgehampton and others in East Hampton and everyone was very pleased with the work. DO NOT SHOP HERE! I am not one that typically posts reviews, but this place is an absolute mess. My…read morewife and I requested two skylight shades to be installed/ordered as this is well out of my scope of handyman expertise. The owner Joy originally sent her son to measure/give a written estimate and we shortly after arranged to drop off a deposit and have items ordered. Late evening the day before our scheduled drop off, we were called stating that they were increasing the price as the son had provided a bad quote. After arriving to the store and questioning this we were also told while they were happy to take the deposit that they were no longer sure they could do the job and would have to send a more senior person back to evaluate. When they came back, almost a week later, the actual installer had to remeasure, as the owner's son had measured improperly as well, but said the job was of course doable. At that time the team seemed apologetic for the inconvenience and told us that if we trusted them they would make it right. As such, we decided as we had already invested the time to give the deposit and we were told they would be ready 4 weeks later for install. 2 weeks after, my wife called for an update and we were informed the shades shipped and due in the next day or two, but that since it was their busy season would not be able to schedule install until several weeks later (~5 week since ordering). 1 week prior to install we get a message saying they have to push back the date of install because the blinds weren't actually in/never even shipped. When talking to her son, he blamed a long term employee that "doesn't know how to use the computer" and when talking to Joy the owner, she states the person who originally told us everything was in while admittedly incompetent had worked their forever and allows it cause she is a loyal person. She then verbally berated me over the phone for making them upset! Do yourself a favor and go to a real store. These folks lie, continually change their story and misled us, particularly after taking our money. This experience has been nothing but a headache and a waste of our time.

I cannot say enough about how impressed by and pleased with Joy I am. Prior to meeting her, I met with several other companies, including the big box stores. From the minute I met Joy, I knew that I would be purchasing from her. She is one of those kind and pleasant people that exudes trustworthiness and competence. She was easy to communicate with, patient, and knowledgeable. She came to my house twice, to review selections, and spent way more time than she needed to, to make me feel comfortable with my purchase. Lately, I've noticed that customer service has gone down in quality, in many arenas. My experience with this company was refreshing and a reminder of what service used to me, and what exceptional service should be. I strongly recommend Joy and her team.
