Love the facility looks fairly new, if not they really make a good job maintaining it. Love the computer imaging system they used instead of the usual molding thing to get impressions of my teeth. I was hopeful about this place but that hope was wrong. Went in needing a tooth extracted due to it being cracked. Mind you I don't have dental insurance so it came out to $560. I honestly I feel like they saw me as a quick cash patient. I got a "Newer dentist" and near the end of the extraction she said "She was worried about being to difficult" like why take me in the first place!?!? 2nd out surgery I went to do a salt water rinse after eat some yogurt and of stitches come out already along with a piece of my extracted tooth. I came in after having some pain and afraid I might have cavities. At first I wanted only x-rays on the main area that was bothering me but here at Daniel Dental they made sure to check all my teeth and they found that I needed a crown as one tooth was cracked. Dr. Nguyen and staff were friendly and professional. Having bad experiences with corporate offices (brident etc) before, i wanted to find a practice that does not rush or try to sell me services. She really took time to explain what was happening and ways of treating it. My cleaning was quick and they currently have $89 special for X-rays, exam and basic cleaning. Appointment was quick and easy and the location was easy to find. The wait was not too long either. The day before my appointment, the office called me to verify my insurance information. I gave them all my info, but they insisted that my carrier had no record of me; the office manager claimed that three different people in the office had called to verify and all three of them were told they couldn't find me in the system. I called my insurer, who pulled up my info with no problem. They conferenced in Daniela Dental's office and verified that they had the exact same info I had given them... (Delta said the only way my info wouldn't have come up would have been if all three of the girls in the office had called the wrong phone number.) The next day I showed up for my appointment and discovered that the office is staffed by incredibly rude, unprofessional people. As though incompetence were not enough... When I spoke to the office manager about Debbie's rudeness, she cited the hour and a half they'd previously spent trying to verify my insurance the day before. Which explains their frustration, certainly, but does not excuse their rudeness. If you have trouble processing Delta customers, then don't take Delta insurance; don't take your frustration out on your patients. The dentist herself might be great, but I'll never know, because her office staff is atrocious. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else. read more

I started coming here last year. And after my first visit I was hesitant to come back. The Doctor was very professional and caring. However, the overall team and customer service was lacking. Since then, lots has changed and I am seeing progress both with customer service in the front office, dental hygienists , and the dental assistant have improved on their technical skills and professionalism. I am glad I gave it a second chance. So far I have had fillings, 2 crowns, and several cleanings and I can say that they are efficient, caring, as well as provide quality work. read more

Came here a few months ago to get a couple wisdom teeth out that were hindering my ability to open my jaw. I didn't have insurance at the time and they were able to see me no problem and extract my teeth for a reasonable price. I was so nervous about having my teeth taken out with only local anesthesia but it wasn't bad at all and took about an hour. I was able to drive myself home. Daniela and her assistants are awesome and really put me at ease. If I didn't move so far I would definitely be back in the future!! read more

Overall experience is disappointing and -1. When the dentist is away the office is unprofessional, chaotic and unorganized. Waited over an hour for a scheduled visit. This isn't the first time the office was overbooked. No respect for customers time. It's either wait to have your dental work performed or leave. Not much of an option after waiting 2-3wks for an appointment so they no you really can leave. The skill level is questionable when it comes to certain dental procedures. The dental hygienist was very rough and rude. I waited 40 minutes for an Invisalign scan when I was told I'd be waiting 20 minutes. I spend 2 hours and 10 minutes in my entire visit and only had xrays and an Invisalign scan. The whole purpose of my visit was for a cleaning. Another staff member told the hygienist "Oh we just don't have time for that." No one bothered to tell me directly. I'm incredibly disappointed. And the icing on the cake......at the end of the appointment, I realized they had my last name spelled completely wrong. Hygienist was awesome and gentle barley felt the deep cleaning . I found my new dentist ! This office clearly works on commission and not on the best intention of the patient. I'm like you. When I need to commit my precious time and income to something I have to leave work for, I do my research. I look to online reviews. I like to trust them. This is not one of those stories. I went to this dentist that I just found off of Google (never, ever doing that EVER again). They had very popular reviews that boasted personal attention and alleviation of dentist visit anxiety. I have to preface by saying I have never left a dentist office with my blood pressure and general state of mind so defunct. I was physically angry when I left. I should have taken their dumpy strip store location as a warning (don't let their flashy website fool you - their location is not that great). The dentist came in at the beginning of my oral exam and before my teeth had been properly cleaned (any dentist can tell you that can report a false positive). My hygienist (who was a very sweet woman) poked around for a bit and took x rays. Then this dentist came in, poked around in my mouth for 20 seconds, and promptly told me I had seven cavities. Now, I have been seeing dentists regularly, I am just having trouble finding a decent one who takes my insurance (as a state employee with awesome insurance, this really shouldn't be a problem, but it is). I said "Excuse me? Seven? How is that possible" and instead of showing me x-rays or where these "cavities" were, she explained to me that 'at one time I had excellent dental care', which I found to be extremely condescending for an office that was 'an expert in alleviating dental anxiety', then proceeded to argue with me that I wouldn't feel any pain with cavities (...what? Am I an idiot?) and whether or not white fillings or silver fillings would be used. I even told her that previous dentists told me that a slight stain on the side of one of my front teeth was purely cosmetic (silly coffee, I just can't stay away from it) but she assured me it was a cavity. Again, not showing an x ray or any proof besides "it's a cavity because I said so". I kept waiting for her to prove to me that I had these so-called seven cavities... I'm no dental expert but I know that these things do not pop up overnight. She basically shrugged it as a "better luck next time!" and went on her merry way, leaving me sitting there wondering what in the hell just happened. I was shocked. I have never been so undermined in a medical setting in my life. Then she proposed a $780-ish bill and left it at the front desk for me to sign for, leaving the very sweet hygienist to somewhat "pick up the pieces" and cheer me on through the rest of my dental cleaning... before trying to up-sell me a fluoride treatment that required a co-pay. I couldn't believe it, that in this day and age, people are allowed to conduct business like that. I ended up wasting sick time, paperwork time on behalf of my employer, and wasted my insurance's time. I demanded the next day they send over my x rays to another dentist. They never did. I called, and my second opinion dentist also called to request them on my behalf, they never sent them over. That just goes to show their selfishness and poor business model. "Gee, I wonder why" said my second opinion dentist. Luckily my second opinion dentist was able to get previous xrays from another dentist I used (but sadly did not end up taking my insurance), which were sent over immediately. He took a look around and studied my history. My second opinion dentist assured me today that my teeth were fine, and that this Daniela Dental person wanted to aggressively fill in crevices on the outside of my teeth that were in ABSOLUTELY NO WAY threatening my dental health. They weren't even making a dent in my current enamel. To fill them in, would mean that they would have to drill into my teeth a large amount just to fill it in --- which would, understandably, do SO MUCH more HARM than good. He told me that my teeth were great, and if ANYONE tried to put a tool to them, I should run away as fast as I can. He explained to me that some dentists tend to over-aggressively treat their patients and this must have been one of those cases. I scheduled my next cleaning with my second opinion dentist and went on my merry way, emotions confirmed. Long story short - DO NOT GET DENTAL WORK HERE. They are only out to get money out of you. I'm starting the insurance grievance report first thing tomorrow, I've already contacted my insurance to get the ball rolling on the process. read more

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST TO ANYONE!! I would have put a picture up, if I did not look so terrible, because of her shoddy work! I received an upper partial from her, and it broke 3 times. The partial looked good, but NEVER fit right. I complained since receiving it, but she kept telling me to give it time to get used to. Things only got worse because of HER mistake! After extracting several teeth, she did not give my mouth enough time to heal before measuring me for the partial. So once my mouth healed, the partial was extremely loose fitting. The ONLY thing that held it in my mouth, was Polident. I could not even speak properly, and I kept telling her how unhappy I was. She used every excuse in the book, but finally admitted my mouth changed after the swelling went down from the extractions, and that is why it did not fit right. Each time a tooth fell off the partial, she would send it back to the lab. They kept adding more and more pink acrylic to the roof of the partial every time they reset the teeth, and it kept getting more and more ridiculously thick, that it totally hindered my speech. I seriously sounded like I had a bad speech impediment! She spoke to me rude and very condescending and made it always appear that I was the problem, frustrating her to correct the WRONG SHE DID! She kept getting more and more frustrated, because I wanted it done right, as she told me during my first visit, that she would not let me leave out of her office unhappy, and she guaranteed her work. THAT WAS A LIE!!! The partial had a one year guarantee that if it broke (as it did) within the year, they would honor the guarantee and repair it. That was NOT the case! Two plus months prior to the one year guarantee terminating, she refused to simply make the lab honor their guarantee and make me a brand new one, since it was her mistake it was ill fitting in the first place! After relating to me THREE times trying to put me on a guilt trip that this was going to be coming out of her pocket, she finally had a different lab make a new partial. This one fits my mouth better, however, the wire shows completely through the acrylic, and in a short time, with wear and tear, the wires will be exposed, cutting into my mouth! The teeth are terribly short, and look absolutely HORRIBLE!! It actually looks like I have no upper teeth, when I talk, even with the partial in! I am too self conscious to even smile in public, and take pictures. I cried and told her of my unhappiness and instead of honoring her promise to make me leave there happy, she had me sign a form from a law firm, saying that if and when I accepted the partial, that would be the END of her work for me. Since I had important family functions, as well as job interviews to go to, I had no choice but to sign the paper. She knew she did a shoddy job, and a very UNPROFESSIONAL job, so she had her attorney, put on there that I would not sue her for my money back! She knows that would be the right thing to do!! She knew I had no money to pay her THOUSANDS when I first saw her, and knew I had to borrow the money for the extractions and the partial. Yet in future visits, she kept trying to convince me to go with $25,000 implants! If I did not even have $100 for anything, how in the heck did she expect me to pay $25,000! How? Well, her solution was to tell me to sell my home or car to get that money. I don't even own a home! Once she finds out you have very little money for further treatment, she no longer acts concerned or caring. She is very rude and condescending!!! I gave her one more opportunity to make things right, but she answered my email, in her same usual RUDE AND CONDESCENDING tone! Her office manager once made an excuse for her, saying that her rudeness was due to her culture! THAT IS NO EXCUSE for her to treat people that way! Now I am having to save money a little bit at a time, just to buy another partial, because she refuses to correct her wrong and give me my money back for horrible partials! read more

Not impressed. The office is a bit of a hole in the wall, and the equipment used outdated, showing its wear. The staff seems friendly enough, however they don't have their act together on the business-insurance end; lots of mistakes, so be sure and go over your bill. Absolutely worst dentist experience. My insurance covers a routine exam at 100% but when I came out of my appt I was charged 170 for charges that most dentists dont charge you for. I was charged for a 1 min oral instruction of how to floss and was also charged for the 1 min fluroide rinse. Never had I been to a dentist that charged for that. They are there to take your money. I was told I had beginning stages of gum disease and was charged for a liquid rinse medication that they gave me. I was also told I had 8 cavities that were gonna cost me 800 to get fixed. I left home with my bill and started thinking something wasnt right. I called back and started asking a lot of questions and the office manager told me she would reimburse me some of the charges. I took my refund check and never went back. Luckily I have been able to find an awesome dentist who didnt charge me a dime when i went in, told me I had healthy gums and just one cavity and that I would only have to pay 24 out of pocket for that filling. I found DR. NGUYEN reviews on goole review and set the record strait on what was written here. DR. Daniela Nguyen and her staff are WONDERFUL! I can't say enough good things, beginning with Roxanne her receptionist, who was extremely cordial on the phone and in person, to Denise, her dental hygenist, who was pleasant, thorough, gentle and very informative with what she found (My kids hadn't seen a dentist in over 2 years!) DR. Nguyen was gentle and caring, and explained my treatment needs for my family and my options thoroughly. I was fortunate enough to have my work done on the same day because she had a cancellation. I am impressed with Dr. Nguyen not just because of how she and her staff treated me while I was in the dental chair, but because she cared enough to send me a personalized follow up note, outlining my treatment, thanking me for trusting her and her staff, and encouraging me to follow up with her if any problems should arise. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen and I will return to her for future dental care. It was nice to find a dentist after my 20 plus years of military service that could continue my dental care with the knowledge and experience level to meet my needs. Dr Nguyen is my dentist of choice as long as I am in San Antonio, Texas, and would highly recommend her services.
