She did wonders on dress alterations on my bridesmaids and flower girl dress (she hemmed the length, took the straps in on my bridesmaids dress, made the slit less open and let out my daughters snug dress). She messed up my mom's expensive dress for my wedding next week. She cut the sheer fabric without finishing the edge and didn't even tell my mom prior to pick up. She just said it's ready for pick up. My mom got to her place to find that the dress edge was not even finished with zigzag stitch. Her reasoning for not finishing the edge of the dress is because she didn't have the color thread to match. Well she could have at least told my mom prior to pick up and better yet color matched the damn thread before she cut off the fabric, sewing 101. Now she cut off too much of the fabric and so close to the beading for us to even get it fixed. my wedding is also outside, in grass, so if the unfinished edge gets caught on anything it can easily rip and the edges can fray easily since it's not finished. She only charged $10, thank God it wasn't $20 or more (original quote). Basically we paid her to simply cut fabric that we could have easily done ourselves. We could have also saved ourselves the drive. She didn't even offer her to reimburse payment. I will never go to this place and hope this serves as a warning to others. Because you can't recall the incident, I'm left having to defend my review. The pictures should make it clear. I'm not happy having to take more of my time on this, but I want my Yelp reputation to remain intact. When I picked up the dress, I paid you. It wasn't until I got home and took the plastic off that I noticed both the puckering and the stains. When I brought it back to you we discussed the options and you told me the puckering could not be fixed without taking the seam in more which would result in it being too small for me. You admitted you hadn't seen the stains but agreed it could have been water from your iron. You suggested I wear the dress anyway -- something I wasn't going to do. Then you offered me a cheap dress that had been your daughters to wear. I'm in my fifties. You never offered to refund my money and I didn't ask. I just wanted out of there. read more

Elizabeth saved me and my pregnant belly! I went in to get my mermaid wedding dress shortened at about 5.5 months pregnant -- my wedding was scheduled for a month and a half later. It was a fitted lace-up so it could expand around my belly area. When I came back a week before my wedding for the fitting, my hips expanded! Elizabeth tailored my dress and it was the perfect length, but I could no longer sit in my dress! I was freaking out because I wanted to be comfortable and Elizabeth came to my rescue with a backup umpire waist wedding dress that she switched from a zipper to a lace-up and removed the bra wiring. I was able to wear my mermaid wedding dress to my ceremony and the comfortable umpire waist wedding dress to my reception! Elizabeth is an amazing tailor who is my shero! Elizabeth has done two projects for me so far and both have been done to perfection. The first was redoing upholstery on two lounge chairs and they turned out beautiful. The second and most important was a hideous bridesmaid dress. This Dress was awful, really awful and she turned it into a lovely (even though the color was the worst) dress that flattered my body and made the dress as beautiful as it could be!! Beyond disappointed, and seeing all of these good reviews makes me even more disappointed. This lady was recommended to my mother to have a dress done for my wedding. She approached her with a design two months ago with more than enough time to get a dress done, which she said was an "easy dress" to make and it would be finished the first week of August. During this time, she has not communicated to my mother whether or not the dress would be complete, and by the time that the first week of August comes, my mother has to call her with no dress to show. Since then she has been trying to set a time to fit the dress, but the seamstress keeps making excuses not to see her or pushing it back closer to the wedding. It is now the week of my wedding THIS SATURDAY and my mom finally sees the dress TODAY for the first time and it looks so poorly made. ONE it looks nothing like the photo she sent, but even so TWO not even nice enough to wear anywhere! The waistline is crooked, the seams are popping out all over the place, at this point I'm not even sure if she attempted to make it look nice. This left her in tears, as she is THE MOTHER OF THE BRIDE and really gave her the benefit of the doubt and expected her to deliver a beautiful dress even though she was late but did not. This review is overdue but worth the wait! Liz is a lifesaver! Sounds like she's helped out others in a pinch as well! I came to her last minute with a bridesmaid dress emergency and she pulled off the impossible. My first dress was made 2 sizes too small and I didn't realize it until 5 days before I had to fly out for the wedding. The dress shop sent me a "replacement" dress.... the only one they had in stock was in the exact color but 2 sizes larger than I needed and it was full length and strapless. Liz completely transformed my full length dress into a knee length dress, took it in and added straps to make it look like the original dress style I had ordered. She did this all within 24 hours and her rates were beyond reasonable for this rushed request!! She is amazing and I'd take any future project to her without a doubt! read more

I have acquired a love for vintage Pendleton shirts. However, I prefer short sleeves rather than long sleeves, and I think I look better in shirts with a tapered fit at the waistline. I was given a very strong referral to Elizabeth Daniell by a friend and decided to see if she could modify these fine wool shirts into ones that were perfect for me. She spent considerable time discussing my ideas with me and planning the methods to achieve my goals. She has modified about two shirts a week for me for the past month and every one is perfect.
