Zero stars. I came here after reading glowing reviews on Yelp, Google, Reddit, and Facebook. My dress needed to have the bust and waist resized, length shortened, bustle installed, and detachable straps added . Her all inclusive package deal of $350 sounded great, but it came at a regrettable cost. - On my first visit, Galina scolded me when I accidentally called her name to tell her I'm ready instead of ringing the little bell. This was my first time there, how would I have known ? - On a following appointment , she called me as I was driving to the shop (I live 40+ min away) to tell me she won't be ready and I'd have to wait about an hour longer. I would have appreciated advanced notice as I do not live in the area. - Her website allowed me to book an appointment and I received an email and text confirming my appointment time. As I was 10 minutes away from the shop, she called me and blamed the booking system, and said she had no idea why it let me book an appointment as she was out of town. Isn't it professional to confirm your appointments prior to accepting them on your end ? I wasted my time and gas driving up to the shop only for her to not be there when my appointment was confirmed. - She mistakenly mixed me up with another patron and said I cancelled my appointment. Her door was locked, I rang the doorbell and she appeared and state "Didn't you cancel ?" I said no and showed her my text message history. Then she started blaming me for not being local and flexible, when at the end of the day, she should have been more organized and professional. She added that she should raise her prices, and said that she has no idea why people travel far and wide to visit her shop. These are words that shouldn't be expressed to the customer at all! There was no accountability or apologies for the mix up. I was willing to overlook all my bad experiences, attitude, and scheduling issues if my dress turned out ok. I picked up my dress and assessed it in more detail at home. I was horrified to see so much damages and wanted to so desperately find another professional upon pick up to remedy the issues that Galina refused to address. I dropped it off elsewhere in a panic with only 4 more days until my wedding. Dress Issues - I informed Galina that my dress was too long, even when bustled. The sides still touched the ground and posed a tripping hazard. I asked if she can trim the edges off more and she then said she couldn't because it needed to gradually get longer for the train. ( I consulted another seamstress, and she said this was just lazy work as shortening the dress requires removing and reapplying the appliqué). She proceeded then to make a 5-point bustle which resulted in the ugliest , Cinderella step sister bustle that I have ever seen. I should have done my research before for bustle styles and thought I could trust Galina. In addition, the bustle loops and button which held the loops were so weak. My new seamstress said it was bound to break with how heavy the train is. - The cups that Galina sewn on were way too big for me (at least 2 cups too large). When I informed her that I was not comfortable , as the top was so loose and someone can clearly get flashed by my chest, her response was that no one will look down at my chest. - Shortening my dress required removing the floral appliqué , then shortening the length and then reapplying the lace. She chopped through the appliqué to my horror. - The edges were extremely uneven and unfinished, almost as if she used scissors to trim if off and called it a day. - Not sure how, but there were at least 10 holes along the bottom perimeter of my dress, and a couples of holes on the back. I did not buy the dress damaged and only wore it when trying it on at the shop. - A needle was left on the inside of my dress. I only spotted it thanks to another Yelp review. Store - Small interior overflowing with dresses. - The fitting area doesn't have enough room to even see your train - There were several pins on the ground Lack of Customer Service - No accountability - Doesn't consider the client's needs and opinions - Makes excuses instead of owning up to scheduling delays and shoddy product Final Takeaways - I came to the shop every other week four months ahead of the wedding. Save yourself the heartache and pay the extra money for excellent service and finished product. Even at this price point, I highly discourage coming to this establishment. TLDR; Cheap prices but you get what you pay for. My experience at Mirabilis was genuinely disappointing. I live near the shop and never really see anyone going in the store but I was sold on getting my alterations done by Galina by a few brides on a facebook group who recommended her. I called the shop on February 4th to see if she was available to do alterations on my dress (hem, bustle, and add a layer of glitter tulle) for my April 5th wedding. She told me that she was available and when I asked about her turn around time, she told me that it depended on how often I could come in for fittings. I then asked for a quote or at least a base price and she said that she would not give me a price yet because she needed to see my dress first. (I understood and was not at all concerned about this) First visit: My first impression of the shop was that it was kinda small and that the room you changed in was pretty unorganized. However, the owner did tell me that they were going through a remodel so I ignored how unorganized the shop seemed. She informed me that I would need 2 more appointments so she could hem it once, check the hem, and then hem it one more time for safe measure. I brought in my own glitter tulle for the dress and she accepted the tulle without any questions. At the end of my appointment, she told me the total was $200 and that I would pay when I picked up my dress. Second visit: A few weeks later I went back for my fitting and she had done the original hem. I noticed that my dress did not have the glitter tulle in yet and I mentioned it at the end of my appointment. She told me that I could schedule my next appointment for a week later and to add a note about my glitter tulle because she sometimes forgets who brings her what stuff. Third visit: I schedule what was supposed to be my last fitting and I also make an appointment for my sister in law right after mine. Galina messages me at 2:30 the day of my appointment (my appointment was scheduled for 4pm) and asks if I come at 5pm (my sister in law's appointment) because she was not ready yet. I told her it was fine since none of my appointments prior had taken the entire time slot anyways. I show up at 5 and my dress is not even close to done. She checks my hem again, the tulle is still not in the dress, and my bustle is not done yet. She measures my sister in laws hem and lets me know that her dress will be done the following week. Fourth visit: I schedule the appointment for a Wednesday, 6 days after my previous appointment. Galina messaged me at 1pm the day of my 4pm appointment and asked if I could come the following day because she was not done. I asked her if she needed more time on both dresses or just mine. She informed me that she could have my sister in laws dress done that afternoon or the following day, it was up to me. I told her that I needed my sister in laws dress that day and that I would be picking it up. I also asked her over text if my dress would for sure be done the next day and she said yes. I showed up to pick up my sister in laws dress and it was done. I asked her again, in person this time, if my dress will for sure be ready the following day and she said yes. Fifth visit: Allegedly my final visit, according to the owner. She made my appointment for 4pm and at 2:18pm that day, after having my dress for over a month, asked me how many yards of tulle I provided her. I told her how many yards I gave her and she told me it wasn't enough. I asked her what my options were and she said that my dress was done but that she could show me the fabric she had in storage so she could add it. If she had told me at any point, other than 2 hours before my "final" appointment, that the tulle wasn't enough then I would have been willing to work with her. I informed her that I will take my dress as is and will be taking my fabric back. Still over text, I asked her what my final price was since not all the work we originally agreed on would be done and she told me that my new total was $150. I went to my appointment and put my dress on again so she could check the bustle. She decided on the spot that she wanted to add more things to my bustle so I stood there while she finished it, even though she said it was already done. Galina told me that she would steam clean mine and my bridesmaids dresses for free if we wanted. At this point, I did not want her to have any of our dresses because I no longer trusted her. When I got home I found 2 pins in my dress and I was lucky that I decided to lay it out or else it could have pricked my ankles. I got what I paid for and I regret bringing my dress to her. I do not recommend her bridal services at all. As I said before, she had my dress for well over a month and kept pushing my appointment times back, always had some excuse, kept promising my dress would be done, and ultimately did not complete my dress per the original agreement. Side note: all my appointments were about 1 week apart, except my 1st to 2nd appointment was about 2.5 weeks apart. read more

Wish I could leave zero stars! I highly recommend going elsewhere for any seamstress needs. There is a reason her prices are so low! A little back story, Galina and her shop came highly recommended by multiple people, I used to live in town but had moved to the north bay a couple years ago. Still come down that way daily for work. My very first appointment with her I showed up 2 minutes early 10:58 AM, to which she rudely responded "your appointment is at 11" okay no problem I can wait 2 minutes I know I'm early. Her shop was an absolute disaster with stuff all over the place. Pins sticking out of the couch cushions that she expected customers to sit at. Fitting room over flowing with other customers dresses and fabric pieces all over the floor to where you could barely get into your gown and look into a mirror. This should have been my first red flag, but I chose to go forward. Big mistake! Over the course of my alterations on both my bridal gown and my nieces bridesmaid dress Galina waited until the day of our appointments twice to tell us she needed more time (because she hadn't had time to work on our dresses) but waited until I was already in town (I live 45 minutes to an hour away). Her reply to me asking her to keep her scheduled appointment was to blame me for coming to her as I'm "not a local, you stress me out". Didn't realize a paying customer was responsible to make sure she kept her appointments! If she only wants locals she should have that posted on her site! On day we had a Thursday evening appointment which is what she asked me to book at 6 pm, at 4:35 she asked to push it back l to 8 PM, I told her I have my niece who is in Elementary school and as long as they were done by 8 we would wait. She promised they would be ready. Well at 7:30 she called and said "okay, how about you come at 9:30!" Absolutely not, I told her I would drive back down Friday as I have my niece. The dresses still weren't done Friday as she blamed us for stressing her out due to not being local!!!! We pushed past the appointment issues and my dress was finally done (after multiple attempts of rescheduling)during my final appointment she had a hole still in my bodice that she had to fix, as well as my bustle! My wedding day came and as I was waiting to go down the aisle I sat down to relax for a moment as nerves got the best of me only to be met with extreme pain in my right calf! I had a LONG sewing needing sticking halfway out of my calf! Blood got all over my dress right before getting ready to walk down, I had to delay while my amazing videographer got a first aid kit and ladies helped clean the puddle of blood off the bridal sweet floor and dress (which is stained with blood now!). The needle was still attached to thread and had to be cut out of my dress!!! I got to spend the Monday after my wedding going to get a tetanus shot as by the looks of her shop I wasn't taking any chances. Please look for someone else who will not ruin one of the most special days of your life! Dealing with Galina and her disorganized chaos was literally the BIGGEST stress of my entire wedding experience. Her shoddy work on both mine and my nieces dress is my biggest regret and wish I would have gone elsewhere. I beg anyone to think twice before they choose to proceed with using Galina, like I said, there's a reason her prices are low, the quality matches and you might wind up injured like me! Editing to now show Galina continues with the lies and still blames the customer. She never made a handmade dress for me, she slightly took in the bodice and added a bustle (which bustle broke and bodice had a hole when I went in for final fitting) added some silicone to straps. I would have NEVER left my dress if I had known there was a leak in the ceiling that could damage my dress as it never appeared my dress was stored in the fitting room as it was always brought out from the sewing room! Highly recommended if you don't want to be blamed for her unprofessionalism and inability to keep a scheduled appointment to seek elsewhere for any of your seamstress needs! Here I am almost 2 weeks later and she still takes no accountability for her actions and is still placing blame on a customer. I would gladly have paid triple or more the price I did for a quality seamstress that wouldn't have injured me. Please go elsewhere so you don't wind up in the same situation as me. Galina is basically a con artist, makes her prices "cheap" but gives even cheaper quality. She never hand made anything for me, she never even started working on our dresses until the day of the appointment as she stated several times to us. My only hope is that this review will help warn others before they decide to place any trust in this person. I don't even know how to start with this. I feel like an idiot. Sometimes you just have to look at the sign and believe it. I made an appointment for bridal dress shopping. Showed up with my mom on time to this little shop in Rodeo. The shop is messy dark it has a weird smell. We were able to overlook all this. We thought it could be a diamond in the rough. Although there are many dresses on the rack, we were not able to try on any of them. Instead we were directed to an online catalog on her iPad to order the bridal dress. I have to tell you it is dirt cheap. Looks like a really good qualities from Italy for under $500, then we saw this dress peeking out from the TJ Maxx back on the floor. Glenda told us the dress was from a recent bridal show so she hasn't had time to hang it up. I tried on the dress and immediately fell in love with it. I tried to order the same dress and she assure me that she would be able to send me the invoice the very next day. She offered to meet me at the bank so I can make the payment to the supplier. Long story short I followed up every day for two or three days and have not heard back on any updates regarding my dress. Today has been a week. Still have not heard any word on order instructions. She told us that the dress would take at least two months to make, not including shipping. Which is kind of long time comparing to other supplier that I have been contact with. This is not a trustworthy place for bridal dress shopping. I was so excited on that day that I have sent her information to my other friends who are also in the process of getting married. Beware! This woman ruined my brand new $1,000 dress. It was my worst nightmare and I regret ever taking my dress to her. When I arrived I noticed her business was extremely disorganized. Instead of judging the quality of her work based on on that, I remembered the 4.8 rating online and chalked the disorganization up to possible brilliance. She pinned up my dress and said I could make an appointment for 2 weeks from that day to pick it up. I made an appointment accordingly. Then, I got a message an hour before I had an appointment to pick it up and she asked 1) if I had a picture of my dress, and 2) what I had asked her to do with it. I think she lost my dress in the disorganization and had no idea what to do with it when she found it. She then asked for more time to finish it. I could not pick it up until the following Saturday, a week later because I live 30 minutes away and had other plans/work. Another week goes by. I get another message from her same day of the appointment- she asked for more time because she was at church and wanted to go to lunch with her friends. I said I could wait a few more hours but needed it that evening. When I arrived later that day, she was not ready and did not answer the door. I had to wait 30 minutes for my dress. When I took the dress home, I noticed snags in the threading that weren't there before, uneven alterations that appeared to be a simply cut with scissors that I could ve done myself (but better), and worst of all, my dress now reeks of food because she had been cooking in the same area she stored my dress. Had I known that were the case, I would have never taken my dress to her. She would not give me a refund and now I have to go pay someone else to save my dress before my wedding. When I told her about the dress smelling like food, she said she was sorry, and that she did not have air conditioning. What? I would never take anything to this woman. I showed her a picture of what I had in mind and told her that it would most likely have to be custom made because I hadn't been able to find the right dress at local bridal shops. She said she could make a custom dress but asked if I would be willing to try on a few dresses she had in her shop. The first two dresses I tried on were close but still not right. The third dress was IT!! It was exactly what I had been trying to find. It needed a few minor changes but on the whole it was THE DRESS!! Joy was a joy! She was able to take my dress with just two days notice before the wedding. I needed it hemmed and a slit added to it. The day I was supposed to pick it up she was running a bit late finishing it. I explained that it was my bday party dinner at my house and asked her if she didn't mind bringing it to my house. I found this little gem through Yelp because I needed to have alterations for my brides maid dress and I didn't trust any of the cleaners in the area especially since they didn't have that great of reviews. She had me try on my dress with my shoes and she did her thing. I was lucky to work with her at one of the photo shoots where I was a model for her dresses. I was impressed how Galina modified a complete dress design specially for me, so it could fit easily and I could feel comfortable. With Galina's help the dresses became part of my personality. I had a terrible experience with Galina. From the very beginning she was nice and seemed to know what she was doing. But then she was delaying the order till the last morning when I had to get on the flight. She delivered an order at 4am and I was waiting for her till 2am to get updates, because I really needed outfits for a conference I ordered them for. Not only all the due dates were not met, she delivered a terrible quality on the pieces. I have shown all of the pieces of clothes to three different designers and seamstresses and all of them confirmed that the quality is very poor: messy stitches, uneven bottoms, poor fit and all other flaws. Again, I would really like to work things out with her, however she said she would not give me any cent back and she didn't even offer to redo her work or pay for another seamstress work if I found one. Beside that, she was not polite to say the least in her email responses and said that she will win in the court, even thought I had no intentions to open a case against her. I've spent 39 hours for fittings, 14 hours for drive to her office and 11 times I drove to her office. Please see the pictures and judge for yourself. I dropped off my wedding dress early March with my mother. We decided on Mirabilis after checking reviews very thoroughly. Our first encounter was wonderful - it seemed like everything would go smoothly. Galina was very efficient and was willing to see us weekly. The third visit is when we started having trouble. Because we live far away, we always leave about an hour before the appointment. On April 3rd, thirty minutes before the appointment, I get a voicemail saying that we needed to reschedule. I call back and say don't worry, take your time. I want to make sure my dress isn't rushed. After not hearing from them for a while, I tried to contact them. Anastasia was very prompt about getting back, but told me this is Galina's order. When I called Galina, she sounded very confused and frazzled saying she's on the road. Understanding this, I agreed to call her back. When I called again, she sounded confused again and so I texted her. Everything seemed very unorganized. Via text, we got set up for an appointment and my fiancée and I arrive at the agreed day and time. When we arrive, Galina thought we were someone else and then asked where we lived. After hearing we travelled a fairly far distance, she seemed genuinely apologetic and asked if we could return in two hours. Needless to say, my fiancée was pretty peeved because this isn't the first time and this day was scheduled for pick up. We agree on the next day and when we come into our appointment, we waited 15 minutes to be serviced and then afterward, we see my dress. The dress had straps on like promised with beading which I loved. My main issue was the bustle was not complete. We left the store at 8:00 PM despite having a 6:00 PM appointment to pickup. We felt like nothing was done during the time we gave extra time. We dropped off the dress early March and picked up in May. As far as skill goes, Galina is extremely skilled and has gorgeous work. She's just a bit unorganized - maybe because there's a lot of demand for her work being prom and wedding season. At the end, she didn't know what price she quoted me and I gave the agreed amount to pay despite being bummed out over the experience we had. Price: Very fair (charged $165 for steaming, patching up holes in dress, adding straps, beading, and French bustle) Quality of work: Phenomenal Customer service: Needs organization - product needs to be complete when promised. I feel like if a customer has to wait two additional hours for their service to be completed despite being told it'd be ready, should have some sort of discount for the service. I'm in the service industry and would have definitely gave a price break for the inconveniences caused by me. Galina is a sweet person and I can tell she enjoys the work she does, but seems overwhelmed. I'm giving 3/5 stars because I support small businesses and Galina produced truly amazing work. It would have been 5/5 stars if things were done in a timely manner and product was complete when it was supposed to. My warning to potential customers is to be explicitly clear with what you want and have a very clean cut timeline to avoid slip ups like this. My dress was definitely procrastinated on and seemingly forgotten which makes me very sad. For the dress to be finished after I arrive on pickup day is unacceptable. I'm so glad to have been able to work with her. Previously I had contacted multiple people about alterations for a dress I had liked, but they all turned me away since I had a tight timeframe. When I told Galina about my situation and short timeframe, she said no problem, and she offered to even make a completely custom dress for me rather than altering one I sort of liked. The dress she made was so beautiful and more than I could've imagined. I feel so blessed to have been able to wear such a beautiful, one-of-a-kind dress tailored just to my body. Galina is amazing! Her pricing for my wedding dress alterations is unmatched! She was very communicative through phone and texts. She will come to her shop at short notice to meet you. My dress needed lots of work. She met with me 10 to 11 times, making small adjustments each tine. She even problem solved with me to fix certain things on the dress. She was kind and listened to your wants, questions, and concerns. Make sure you cement your appointments though, there were a few times she forgot (LOL)! She also altered my veil. In addition, she designs dresses. She has many on display. They are amazing! They are so detailed, and you can tell this is her passion. She also steamed my dress when it was ready and gave me a free toss garter that she had made. I will definitely go back to Galina for all of my alteration needs! read more
