I really appreciated the time taken to do an evaluation prior to starting the massage. I could tell this massage therapist knew bodies by how they spotted my trouble areas before I mentioned them. I hate to be one of the few reviewers here who isn't giving Danielle 5-stars. I got a massage at Danielle's Table a few years ago so it could be that her method has changed so try her out for yourself. Although Danielle was sweet as pie and had amazing massage techniques, she talked to me during the entire 90-minute session. I'm not kidding. I couldn't relax at all. She talked with me about her personal life and it's cool she felt so comfortable with me, but I really would've liked to enjoy peace and quiet as I was getting worked on. I suppose I could've asked her to stop talking, but that seems a little rude. I went to her on a Groupon so I can't complain too much. However, I haven't been back and don't intend on going back either. The other reviews on here let you know she's technically an excellent masseuse, but my experience with the full-blown 1.5-hour conversation was subpar. read more

When I think about my previous frame of mind about massages, I'm reminded of a scene in the movie Me and You and Everyone We Know when the female lead is in the shoe store. The salesman asks if her shoes are comfortable and she meekly says "I guess.. they rub my ankles, but all shoes do that. I just have low ankles." He looks her square in the eyes and says, "You think you deserve that pain, but you don't." Danielle sat me down with a delicious glass of her own homemade kombucha and asked me where my pain was and how long I had been dealing with it. It shocked me to realize it's been almost 10 years. I think that when you deal with something like that for long enough, it just becomes a normal - albeit uncomfortable - part of life. But it doesn't have to be, and I'm very grateful to Danielle for helping me realize that. I came here because of a Groupon, which I had purchased a few months back as a somewhat indulgent gift to myself on a payday. Massages always seemed like exuberant luxuries I couldn't afford. It had been about three years since my last massage, and my muscles were begging me on their sore knees to help them out. It was just a wonderful experience from start to finish. Danielle was extremely warm and friendly in the most genuine way. Her space is very relaxed and open. Lots of wood and earthy colors. She made me feel very comfortable and in control, and did frequent check-ins to make sure I was getting the pressure I wanted. She even asked me to choose the Pandora station, which was a pleasant surprise. Unlike the few other massage therapists I've been to in the past, Danielle doesn't just have her own routine to do and go home. She genuinely wants to help you heal in the best way that works for you, and she has the talent to follow through. She also did a great thing for me by asking about my health insurance. It turns out my insurance covers 27 massages a year for a small copay, which I had NO idea about for the last 4 years of my achey life. Honestly I went to Danielle a couple years ago with a Groupon and was a little freaked out because it was behind a strip club. I went to a few other massage places since, but always fondly remembered how much she worked really deep versus others. I returned to Daniele's Table this year - me being older, (supposedly) wiser, and not so judg-y - now with regularly scheduled visits it makes me wonder why I didn't do this sooner. She's amazing and is able to find all the sore and tight spots on my legs (being a recovering injured runner) and joke about her being my "foam roller" on steroids! My husband recommended Danielle after he had a knee injury. I was taking a few days off from work and figured I'd treat myself to a massage. I had a bilateral mastectomy and reconstruction and it's weird lying on my belly. I also have herniated disc's twice in the past. Despite this I run and bike to stay mobile. I'm used to chronic pain in my hip and back. Danielle was amazing. She made me feel so comfortable, including lying on my belly. I normally don't like deep work, but she (and I) realized I needed it. I have been to see Danielle twice now, and had a fabulous massage both times! She is very good at what she does, and takes the time to truly try to resolve the problems (if any) that you come in with. I have been to other LMT's that either have too light of a touch or use painful techniques that don't seem to help. Danielle, for me, is just the right balance. As expected, I was a bit sore the next day but the neck and shoulder issue I had been dealing with for weeks was already beginning to resolve, thankfully!!
