I went to see Aradia on my Birthday. I booked a 90 minute massage to treat myself. Aradia was pleasant and I appreciate the covid protocols taking into place during my time. However, this massage was nothing close to satisfying. I would of preferred more movement in her technique other than holding down pressure on parts of my back and neck. I left with knots still in my back and in a very unpleasant mood unfortunately. It took away from my birthday and I was highly disappointed. Especially for the price I was charged. read more

First, what a great space for a massage: smells calming, warm, soothing music, plenty of space to not make me feel claustrophobic. I'm kind of picky about any place I visit. I thoroughly review something online through Yelp or do online research via their website before making an appointment anywhere. I'm especially wary about blindly booking massages where a complete stranger is touching your bare body. Yeah, best believe I investigated things to the tee. So happy that I stumbled upon Body Aware Massage. I receive medical massages through work and am allotted to use a certain amount every year. After reading some great reviews of this place and learned about how conveniently located it was, I booked my appointment with Ariel (ah-ree-el). Body Aware is literally located right above Townshend's Teahouse. If you go to the right of the teahouse, you'll see a door up ahead. Just follow the signs and there you'll find some zen. Ariel is amazing in so many ways. She's addressed so many issues I didn't even know I had. She could tell where I was more tense and based on my job, how it was affecting my body. She's found things that I didn't even know were bothersome (i.e. my IT band)! She really works out the kinks and even suggests ways of improvement so that my body can be healthier and less sore. I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone. She's a great person to talk with if you're in the chatty mood, but if you want your peace too, she respects that. Let her take away all the pain! There is something about positive human touch for 75 minutes that makes you feel incredible, and I guess having all of the knots in your back rubbed out is a total plus. Tate is fantastic, always checks in to make sure things are feeling okay and wants to know of any places on your body that needs some extra attention. Love their space above Townsheds. It's quiet and relaxing and everything you need to feel 100% comfortable, and bonus points for being able to book online. There's usually an appointment within the same week you need/want/are craving a massage. I've had some massages in the past, but nobody has ever made my sore body feel better than Tate has. Incredible. Actually very credible. Heck, both! I've had 2 massages here, both by Tate. Both times it's been due to back and shoulder pain. And each time I've walked our basically pain-free. Okay, I lied. I didn't walk... I casually sauntered! :) Making payments is super easy as they use Square. The environment is relaxing. And (Tate at least) really listened to what I was saying and asked questions about where I hurt before beginning. I never thought I'd say that the best part of a massage was walking away from it, but...Let me explain. When my husband bought us a couples massage for our anniversary, I was skeptical. I'd been to Aradia before, so I wasn't at all worried about the quality of the massage, but I just wondered what the point was--it seemed like the whole thing could be awkward. But I realized I was being silly when my husband and I entered the cozy and relaxed room above the tea house. It looked pretty, it smelled great, and the therapists were casual and friendly in a way that made us feel instantly comfortable. It was nice to see my husband treating himself and getting some good body work--he's not the kind of person who would normally shell out for a massage. Although I totally enjoyed my excellent massage, I also really enjoyed walking away from it with my husband. So often in a marriage you experience stress together, but this time we had a shared experience of complete relaxation. A great alternative to your typical date night. read more

Aradia was excellent! Fantastic massage overall. I was really in need, and looking for someone with an experienced and caring touch. Aradia accomplished all that and then some. I left this massage feeling both relaxed and rejuvenated - which is sometimes a tricky balance to achieve. Her pressure was both sensitive and firm, creating just the right amount of release. I especially enjoyed the Ashiatsu techniques she performed (had never tried this before) and would very much recommend. The atmosphere is clean, comfortable and attractive. I've been going to Body Aware Massage for years. I have chronic back spasms that come and go depending on my stress, exercise and injury. I have had many massages to deal with back pain, and although the other therapists I have been to are wonderful. I was looking for neuromuscular help more than a 'me day' massage. I have found the right therapist in Harmony Haney. I'm hooked. The first time I went to Harmony I had been unable to walk for 2 days, and after our first treatment I was able to move and perform the relief/prevention exercises she showed me. Harmony has created such a welcoming and calm environment that belies the intensity of her technique, that I was almost surprised after my first visit. She asked questions and got to know my body and was emotionally present as well. Her advice and instruction for post-massage is knowledgeable and effective. Now, as a regular client I am able to better recognize bad patterns or form that cause my back issues. When I do over-do it I have Harmony to get me back to a comfortable place with less downtime and repetitive movement injury. As a competitive paddler I would highly recommend Harmony for anyone who pushes their body (sometimes too hard) for relief with both the immediate physical repercussions of injury and the prevention of repetitive use issues. Although I do like my massages intense I also appreciate the relaxing aspects of Harmony's practice. She makes you feel instantly comfortable and welcome, with special personal touches that invoke a spa-like feel, and an atmosphere of relaxation and compassion. I made a commitment to myself to do something for me on a regular basis. I have always loved getting massages so I randomly found Body Aware and picked Kira as my massage therapist. OMG I love her! I have been seeing her for 4 months now, once a month. She is so kind and thoughtful. She remembers everything I share with her and is really supportive emotionally when I need it. She is very intentional in her work. I always hate when one side of my body gets a different treatments than the other. She is always equally attentive. One of the most unprofessional places I have ever done business with. Which was shocking because the other reviews lead me to think differently. I scheduled a massage online with Aradia, 3 minutes before my massage I got a call from her. She told me that the scheduling had gotten mixed up. I get it - technology. We decided to reschedule for the next day. As a new client I showed up 15 minutes early, to fill out paper work and all. I then sat and waited for 25 minutes. She had stood me up. My visit was just OK. My session was with Aradia and while it wasn't a bad experience, it was lacking. I never have a great sense of time when I'm on the table and I was very surprised that she totally neglected the 1 spot I went out of my way to mention to her that needed attention. I had a hip surgery last year and told her the area was tight and needed some additional work, she did the rest of my body and then told me time was up. Aradia offered me another massage because she wanted to make sure I had a good experience... or rather, update my earlier review. This second massage was good - I almost fell asleep on the table and had some movement restored to my shoulder. I was really impressed that she wanted to make sure I had a better massage and was ready to give another star until she asked before I left to make sure I'd do an update. I don't know how many people she specifically asks (both immediately after the massage, and then in a later email) to update their yelp reviews... that was a turn-off. Sorry... but being honest. Three stars are solid "A-OK"; it doesn't mean "bad." Fantastic Massage! I have had 4 massages so far and each one was wonderful. Aradia is skilled, her pacing is perfect and she is very genuine. She knows how to quiet your body and mind down. I've also had Harmony work on me and she too, is skilled, caring and intuitive. They are both quite different, but I love both of their styles! Each time I've arrived with my back in complete spasm and each time I've left with complete relief. The rooms are very spacious, the space is quite and clean. Both therapists are concerned with your comfort as to temperature and pressure. I think that with Aradia's wonderful ability to connect with people, she's hand picked the perfect team of healers to help you. The office was gorgeous and super comfortable. I found Aradia's work to be exstreamly therapeutic and helpful.
