I hired Daniel and the experience was extremely disappointing. He was very responsive when he was asking for money, but once he was paid, communication dropped off completely. He sent workers to my home on a Tuesday without any prior notice, and they told me they would return on Saturday once I had the sealant ready. Saturday came and went, and no one showed up or contacted me. He ignored my calls and messages afterward. To make matters worse, they didn't bring enough cement for the job and started using my own bricks to fill the space without asking or discussing it with me. This showed a lack of preparation and professionalism. Based on my experience, I would not trust what he says. He will leave you high and dry with unfinished work and zero communication. This review is long overdue as Daniel's Concrete completed the work back in May 2023. We waited to post our overall review due to busy schedules and pending a scheduled house inspection. As first time homebuyers, we wanted to ensure everything from foundation and new additions such as the completion of our backyard were accurate and in compliance. We contacted Daniel's concrete in February of this year for an estimated quote. Please note upon their assessment, the quote provided at the time will be good for 90 days. The initial assessment of the property went well as we worked with both Daniel and Jennifer. Due to a language barrier, Jennifer was our primary contact as she speaks English. She was able to convey our request/plan details including follow up questions to Daniel. We did not receive HOA approval on our backyard plans until early May, cutting it close to the 90 day deadline. Upon receipt of the approval, we contacted Daniel's Concrete and were happy to hear he would be able to start work on our backyard the following week. We were given a 10 day completion timeline and were very pleased with the timeframe for completion as he and his team completed the work within 8 days. Our only concern with Daniel's Concrete is follow-through with questions/concerns as listed below (photos attached for reference): - Portion of concrete once dried had significant staining and or discoloration - Gate has dried up concrete and was not cleaned out afterwards - House (with white stucco) has splashes of dried cement/concrete not cleaned out after - Caused a dent in stucco on window trim - HVAC stand/pan not returned to original place setting. WE WOULD LIKE TO NOTE HERE THIS IS ONE OF THE BIGGEST CONCERNS BROUGHT TO OUR ATTENTION DURING OUR HOME INSPECTION AND THE ONLY CONCERN WE WISH TO HAVE HAD RESOLVED. See below further review and details: As indicated above, we requested a home inspection and we were informed the HVAC stand/pan should be replaced to its original setting to avoid future damage caused by the vibration. Upon hearing this, we contacted Daniel and Jennifer by text. We were informed by Jennifer that Daniel and his team would assist with lifting the HVAC in order to return the HVAC stand/pan. However, we never heard back to schedule a day/time. Additional follow up by text was sent and yet, no communication back for close to a week. During our last attempt to request for assistance, we were provided a date/time. I waited the whole day, but Daniel and team were a no-show and no-call to provide an explanation. We gave them the benefit of the doubt since we understand everyone's busy schedule. We attempted to reschedule, but the next day/time suggested were not feasible due to our busy schedules as well. We indicated such and Daniel's Concrete / Jennifer did not bother to respond again nor did they attempt to reschedule or reach out. The partnership started out great, but the end result and follow-through was quite disappointing CONSIDERING HOW MUCH MONEY WENT INTO THE BACKYARD. This day/age customer service and care is important in retaining clients (I should know given my professional role and experience with customer handling). This job is not complete especially since we've reached out to other HOA neighbors who've obtained Daniel's Concrete for services. How were they able to replace/return the HVAC pan for some clients and simply forget to do so for ours? What's more troubling is for the amount we paid costing over $20k, the courtesy of a follow-up was not available. Work overall was pretty good, but make sure to get everything done before the final payment is given because it seems like once it's done/given, they're done and no longer care. read more
