It is very difficult getting a response from Dan. There were several times we attempted to meet up and it wouldn't happen. Finally he had me call him over FaceTime to discuss what needed to be done for our project. The issue is a shared wall between myself and neighbors and Dan said he has experience dealing with this. I sent him photos for our quote since he said that would be all he needed. This was on 11/30. I never heard from him again despite calling, texting, and reaching out thru Yelp. It's very disappointing but I guess it's to be expected when someone is already difficult to reach at the onset. In any case finding a reputable contractor who is reliable and response is key in any project. If you have someone that doesn't respond or reply its red flags for sure. Update: Thanks for responding, Dan. Your reply actually proves my point. For the record, I never asked you to help with anything "fake." I asked for a quote -- the one you said you could give based on photos -- and then you stopped responding. That's all this was about. If you simply told me this project was not for you that would have been the end of it. You ghosting and then responding to me on Yelp in such an unprofessional manner is what is crazy. Calling the situation "fake" also shows a misunderstanding of California property law. Tree-root damage to a shared wall is a real, common issue here, and nothing I described was unusual. Your decision to jump to insults is exactly why I warned others about your lack of basic communication and professionalism. read more

Working with the space, he offered an original design and added several items at a discounted rate. Additionally, the customer service was unparalleled and was one of the few good experiences we have had with contractors. Dan went out of his way and above and beyond to repair a decorative stone tile wall for us. He was very communicative, extremely polite and courteous, and very good at his job. He sourced the material that most closely matched with our existing wall tile and delivered it prior to doing the work. On the day of the job he was prompt, made sure to minimize messes, and checked with me throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied with the results. I had some specific requests that he honored without hesitation such as leaving access behind the wall for a junction box, and a hole shaped for an electrical outlet in the corner of the room. The work is very clean, and nearly seamless. it's very difficult to see where the old wall ends and his new work begins. On top of all this, his pricing is very competitive. Watch out for this guy. He came out and gave me an estimate agreed on the project. He did ask for a ridiculous amount of money upfront. The project was supposed to be $1800. He wanted $1000 on the first day. I mentioned to him the 10% is a required amount and he said well if you want me to do the job I want $1000 upfront. I did agree to give him $1000. I gave him a check. So he goes to the bank and apparently he's red flag and he blew up my phone all day about that. I needed to pay him the thousand dollars. I did I gave him a check that was good and he even said my bank said there's plenty of money in the account. So I tried to Zelle him the money because he was harassing me and because he's the first time recipient, I could only give him no point of investment options together for $500 that day and I told him I'd give him the next 500 the second day. He came out to my house the second day grabbed his tools and said I broke the contract and walked off the job. I did not break the contract. It's not my fault that he's Red flagged at the bank. I gave him a check. So he walked away with $500. He did two hours worth of work if That and I would not! Ever higher this person if I were you, I don't know how he got a couple good reviews he's a smooth talker watch out for him. Find somebody else to do your job. This is his way of scamming you he asked for a large amount of money upfront and then he walks off the job. I'm just glad I didn't lose $1000. read more

We had our patio extended. Did everything we asked, plus. They moved existing sprinklers that were in the way of the new patio, as well as re-planted plants that were in the way. They added a decomposed granite to an existing planter and cleaned it up beautifully. I am writing this to update my last review. We spoke with Daniel three or four times since my review in October 2023, and Daniel agreed to come back and finish the work. He asked if we would first take down the Yelp review before finishing the work. We told him that we would consider taking it down after he satisfactorily completed the work. He agreed, and again, did not show up or call to communicate the change in plans. On at least two occasions, he committed to a return date, which caused us to shift our work schedules, and then he no showed. Working with Daniel Ruvalcaba has been the most unprofessional experience to date. At this point, I wouldn't allow him back on my property due to his blatant dishonesty, unprofessionalism, and stealing of our money without completing the work. read more

Daniel and his team helped me install a solid and beautiful planter retaining wall (stone veneer). Although there were pauses of the project due to raining and materials being out of stock, Daniel's crew came through and complete the project. He offered me a ride to the supplier to pick the caps and it helped a lot because the color was slightly different from the photos. Also, the caps were very heavy so it took him two round trips to transport them with his truck and he didn't mind. His crew haul away all the old wall materials and did a nice job cleaning up my backyard. He even came back a second day to apply sealer to the stone veneer and caps free of charge after the grout dried. Daniel was very responsive and had great customer service until the job was completed. Once we noticed he had broken a pipe while removing tree roots he quickly disapeared. We asked him to come back and remove the small area of concrete so we can have the pipe replaced and then replace the concrete. We would even pay for the new material. After 2 weeks he finally responded saying he would come on Saturday. He never showed up and we haven't heard from him again. The concrete slab was only 2'x12". A tiny portion of the driveway. I reached out and had several contractors come out including Daniel from The Masonry Team TMT. When paying for a large job I take the time to get to know the person as well as their work ethic prior, during and after the job. Daniel was professional, on time, listened and made every effort to accommodate me. I initially took some time off from work to observe the job being done and found out soon enough his work crew showed up on time, professional and cleaned up the work site at the conclusion of each work day. They only missed one day due to rain however still stayed in contact with me if their was a chance the rain would stop to still show up, Not only did they do the Masonry work they also landscaped a small garden had an electrician set up a power box and prepped my yard for artificial grass. I have been trying to get someone to do this project for months. Most of the contractors wanted to expand this project to essentially replace all the paving at a much greater cost. Masonry Concrete, however, was able to inspect the job and gave me a reasonable quote for removing the underlying roots and restore the original flagstone paving. I called this Company and they sent one of their Plummer's because we had a clogged kitchen sink. It was a quick response. When he got here, he started off with using his camera to stick in the drain to see what was the clog. Then he said his camera would not go more then 5 feet and I suggested that he just snake the drain. He said he was not comfortable snaking the drain because he was afraid that the snake cable would get stuck. He then recommended a hydro blast service that was 500$. He said he could do it for 350$. And all that without even snaking the drain. A real Plummer would know how to fix a drain. I declined, I paid him and left. Waste of money, I think he just came here to sell me the blasting service.
