Where do I begin??! First of all i must thank my Yelp buddy…read moreSuper K for recommending Sals!! Absolutely delicious subs!! Better than Katz and Carnegie!! Sandwiches are huge!! Its possible to share a sandwich with a friend. My favorite is the da bomb or pastrami. I love dipping mine in Italian dressing.... Service is great! Located in the Astoria part of NYC. You might have to wait but its worth it!! They don't take plastic!!! You need cash!! Oh yeah no place to sit ..so take it the park.. so after you eat you can take a stroll and not feel guilty!

I was recently visiting NYC & knowing my for a top tier sub sandwich, I must try Sal, Kris &…read moreCharlie's. So I did, and ordered "The Bomb", everything except Mayo. Cut in 4 Here's the deal. The service is very professional. Takes a minute because they're extremely busy if you visit during the lunch hours. If you're a foodie and enjoy the view of fresh meats, cheeses, salads, breads, and sandwiches being made fresh..... then the ambiance was bliss. The fact it was in a common neighborhood made it even more enjoyable of a visit! Now to the sandwich..This sandwich itself DEFINITELY lives up to the hype! It really is the REAL DEAL!! Maybe they should change the name to "Da Bomb", because it's that's good! However, through no fault of anyone, this is the learning experience I take back for my next visit: 1) Extra lettuce, tomatoes, onions, hot peppers. Potato Salad IF extra hot peppers! 2) Bring reusable containers for your sandwich, especially if you're not going home/ hotel right away. Next visit, which will be my next visit to NYC, I intend to try the roast beef and turkey hero, extra lettuce, tomatoes, onions, hot peppers. Overall, I still rate 5/5. They do a fantastic job here. Service is awesome, food is fresh, and the amount of food they offer for the price is well worth it. Definitely worth visiting again and again!!

L was in the area so I told him to go try this place out. Only had one review so I was a bit…read morehesitant...I guess this place is new since the cook didn't even recognize the items on their own menu and had to check what was in it...so of course L got annoyed cuz I chose a sandwich they didn't recognize. HTF should I know that the people who work there have no clue what's on the menu. Yeah I chose the weird Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It sounded much better on paper than in reality. It didn't taste like a real Philly cheesesteak sandwich. It had a lot of mushrooms in it but the gravy sauce tasted weird and it barely had any cheese. He also ordered a halal gyro over rice. Not sure which protein... chicken probably... I really didn't care for it. It didn't taste like anything you'd expect from a halal place. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh but the seasoning on the food was non-existent. Where are all the spices! Didn't taste cumin, coriander.. garlic, etc! So bland. No heat whatsoever from the sauces? It tasted more like creamy bbq sauce. Don't serve halal food for the sake of having variety on the menu. The texture of of the rice was a lil odd for me and it wasn't basmati rice. I'm giving it 3 stars cuz it really was just okay, if anything, I'm being a bit generous. I didn't feel like cooking lunch on a Friday but I could've easily made something tastier for less money.

I stopped by Steve's Deli after work cause I was crazing a good chop cheese. I saw one review where…read morethey stated they had a good one at this deli. There are no options by where I work and this was not too far away from fresh meadows where I live. I must say 5 out of 5. It was perfectly made and bread was lightly toasted and it hit the spot !!! I hope that next time I crave a chop cheese it will be just as good as it was that day.

Walking in, you are most definitely noticed and greeted! I like that concept for the mere fact, if you are ordering from bodegas they let you order at the food counter, in my experience, but this D&G's take on a more direct approach by speaking and asking how they can help you, more like steering you in the right direction sking with gathering enough information to complete the sale. For instance I said that I wanted a Sausage, egg, n , cheese. I told him 3 egg whites, with the sausage links. Instead of putting it on any bread, the most important question was asked. Do you want it on a roll or hero, a key question to satisfy the customer and to provide satisfactory customer service. A key component in retaining customers. As I looked around the casual atmosphere to gathering information so that I may be well informed, I found some cookies that made me feel nostalgic in the best way. I was compelled to buy the Duplex Cremes, see photo! I also searched for the bigger pack of Biscoff, my new found favorite but they only had one selection and it was a mini pack. This store was less chaotic, smaller than the Merrick store, more organized and consistent with exemplary customer service. If I'm in the area, I'll return. An improvement would be to have bigger bags of cookies, like the Biscoff, other than that I'm satisfied and eagerly await the next opportunity to ..... Inspire more, Yelp more!

I used to come here a lot when I was a kid, and back then the food honestly wasn't as good as I remembered. Now Big difference. The french fries are immaculate seriously, a single order will get you through an entire lunch break. The bacon is delicious and, thankfully, no longer burnt. I don't know what was going on before, but they've definitely figured it out. And they're no longer using that block of government cheese situation on the bacon, egg, and cheese everything tastes fresher. The place itself is cleaner, the drinks aren't expired, and the guys behind the counter are friendly and competent. Overall, it's a really good experience now.
