Great selection of everything you're looking for - from jard liqour, wine, sweet drinks, hard drinks, and in the between. Most of the employees are knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. BUT Sia, the wine section manager, is honestly the gem here. If you need wine recommendations, he's the one to ask. I love the sampling they do and it's quite diverse - I believe weekends are the bigger days for sampling but they do still offer some during the week. And on top of that $20 wine classes - my boyfriend and I had a blast and it was a great bang for your buck. They also have constant sales/promotions going on which I appreciate. read more

What a fall from grace it has been. What once stood as a mammoth amongst shopping experiences, has took a sharp decline to what is now nothing more than a big liquor store. After being a loyal customer for years, I was met with extreme disappointment when I discovered the full elimination of "Door #1" (the beer selection). The entire section of the store has been removed. No more beer, no more snacks, no more cigars, no more drinking games, no more kegs, no more of life's simple pleasures. Saw a fellow Yelpers review of this place, saying it was cheaper than his local liquor store, and dang nabbit, he was right. A magnum of Sobieski Vodka is $20.21 at my local store, $18.99 here. Another Great Wine Tasting Class, Sip and Snack. We tried eight different wines, whites and reds that paired well with snacks such as gummy bears, yes gummy bears, popcorn, beef jerky, cheese balls, spicy nuts and crackers, potato chips and barbecue potato chips. Our presenter and his assistance kept the evening going explaining how everything paired with the wine as his assistance kept giving us snacks and pouring wine. Very interesting how with the first sip of wine then tasting the snacks how the tastes of the wine and snack changes. One thing I remember was the Sauvignon Blanc breaks down spicy food. Pretty cool. Great selection of alcohol... ehhh a few strange things to note: 1) the person who works in the Prosecco area though is incredibly pushy about ppl not buying the brand ViaRae which I see as incredibly odd. 2) they sold out of my favorite bubbly- Moet & Chandon Nectar Imperial Rose Champagne for YEARS (from months after they opened up until recently) and they finally have it back. Yayyy! 3) a "manager" once told me I couldn't have a sample bc I had 3 at 1 station and went to the reds and asked for another. He later claimed (I called shortly after leaving the store due to my discomfort of how he approached me) it was because he didn't know who was driving btw myself and the person I was with. We both explained from the first sample that they were the DD which is why they didn't touch ANY alcohol! During bi-weekly visits, the purchases are about $200+. Unacceptable behavior from "leadership" when they have other patrons literally pouring their own samples and I had enough respect to follow the rules. Otherwise, again, the classes are great! You sample the top brands (as per TW) of alcohol the class is based on, and learn a lot about that type . The class I took was a whiskey class which I thoroughly enjoyed! This store is located in a very busy shopping area, with Westbury Plaza, The Galleria, and Roosevelt Field Mall all within a few stoplights of each other. Total Wine has always been my go to for last-minute gifts, holiday shopping, or items for personal use. However, on this particular night, the service fell short of the high standard I'm used to from Total Wine. I was looking for a beverage in a specific flavor and kindly asked one of the male employees for assistance. Instead of helping, he rudely responded, "I've never seen that here," despite the fact that I was holding another flavor of the exact same beverage in my hand! It was clear he didn't want to check the back stock or make any effort to assist me, opting instead for the easy way out with a dismissive comment. Fortunately, I asked another employee for help, and they quickly assisted me and showed me exactly where the item was located. (Which for some reason was not in the same area as the other flavors) This highlighted the lack of effort from the first employee, whose job is to assist customers. If you don't care to help, why work in customer service at all? Total Wine offers a good variety of adult beverages from around the world. Shopping here is usually a fun experience, and it's one of the only liquor stores I frequent. Total Wine Westbury Was a Total Failure. They completely botched a simple, high-end holiday order. Their policies are ridiculous, their communication is poor, and they don't follow through on promises. My experience with Total Wine in Westbury, NY was a total disaster. On December 10, 2024, I ordered a full case (12 bottles) of Caymus Cabernet Sauvignon as a Christmas gift for an important client. The order was confirmed with a promised delivery date of December 15. On the delivery date, I received an email saying one bottle was canceled. Sending 11 bottles instead of a full case? That looks sloppy and unprofessional. I called customer service, and the rep admitted they had all 12 bottles when I placed the order, but said their policy is to fulfill based on inventory at the time of delivery, not when the order is placed. When I asked why they didn't just set aside the full case I paid for, they just kept repeating, "that's our policy." Trying to fix their mess, I asked if they could substitute a comparable bottle to complete the case. The rep said yes. Since their system wouldn't allow a one-bottle order, he told me to place an order for 3 bottles, and he'd cancel 2, waive shipping, and make sure the one bottle was sent with the original 11. He confirmed everything was in place. But my client still only received 11 bottles. Then, days later, the second shipment finally went out, but instead of fulfilling the plan, they charged me for all three bottles and sent them separately. Never using them again. Ever. read more

Immediately, an employee named Doug, told me that I was using a blue cart (Walmart) and only brown carts (total wine) carts were permitted in the store. Okay, I get it. I put the cart back outside. They have a super high end collection and just for a teaser they have A slew of McAllen from as far back a 1940. The 72 year old sells for $99,999.99. YES THATS CORRECT!! I purchased. Grey Goose, Simi Cabernet Sauvignon, Meiomi, Pinot Noir, and Courtney Benham Cabernet Reserve 2019 Napa. I would highly recommend them and think this is worth the trip from any of the New York City area. This is my new favorite place. I'd like to add more wines to my pandemic purchase wine fridge. They have a great selection of French wines and wine from everywhere imaginable. Buy any six bottles of wine (except wine with prices ending in a 7) and get 10% off the wine. They had a red and white wine to taste in the wine section and whiskey by the spirits. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I got a15% off French wine voucher valid for the next two weeks with my receipt/ The prices were good but not the best I've seen. I've been to this store multiple times and finally I'm writing a review . I don't know who they hire and what training they undergo but the staff are rude and worse they display racist behavior ! I am a person of color and everytime i go I can't get help and they only seem to help white people . I also observe the same happening to other people of color while they fawn over white customers . If asked a question they talk down to you if you are a person of color . It's despicable and I don't think people of color should give them business . When people come to work they should keep their personal preferences at home and behave somewhat normal in a workplace . This has now happened 5 plus times ! I'm a paying customer and it's unfortunate that this business is highly unprofessional . Today this elderly white employee spoke to me like I'm 5 giving me a hard time to pick up an order when it was highly unnecessary . It's located in a large shopping center so parking is bountiful. In front of you is a large store with a beautiful marquee on top. Inside I was surprised, the store is broken up into a left (bar) and right (wine). We started on the wine side first. I must say I was impressed, they have every wine know to man. The organization of the place is incredible, and they have plenty of staff ready to help. They also have tasting stations on the floor. It's pretty cool. Now on the left side was the beer. They had so much more than beer. They sold groceries, snacks, and of course beer. They had a brewery in the back, where you can enjoy with friends, a fridge next to it where you can buy kegs, and they had Ice, because, why not. This place is a drinkers dream. I even bought something....it was a coffee mug and a cheese danish, but at least I didn't go for nothing. read more

I visited here because I was staying at the nearby Holiday Inn. I had a 20% off discount on Italian Direct Wines. They had one aisle of Italian wines. I loaded up my cart with a variety of Italian wines. I tried to use my 20% off Italian Direct Wines, but the cashier informed me that I could not use my 20% off Italian Direct Wines, because that offer was from a different state. Anyway I did qualify for their 15% off discount. I saved 15% or $22 off my $148 Italian wine order so my net cost was only $126. read more

In our house there is a metal wine rack with 18 slots and it was never more than half full, because the other stores charge 10 dollars and up for a 750 ml bottle of most any wine. At Total, you can get a fine Argentine Malbec for under 8. They do not rest on their laurels. There are staff members in every section, ready to help you find a perfect bottle. There is always a tasting going on, and they have a room at the back for more formal wine education. Total Wine has caused a sensation in the area, so it can sometimes take a few minutes to check out, but never much more than that. They have an affiliated beer store next door with a great selection of cheeses and snacks. The beer selection there is vast and well priced. OMG Total Wine is Disneyland for winos like me! A huge selection of wines and spirits in the former Sports Authority warehouse. They offer great pricing, lots of free tastings, discounts on 6 bottles or more (better than the normal case discount) and friendly staff to help you find it all. I went in for rose bubbly from New Mexico that I couldn't find anywhere else on Long Island and guess what, Total Wine stocked many bottles of it and I paid less for it there than through my wine club. I also got a limited edition bottle of Hendricks gin at a great price. The place was quite crowded on a Saturday evening so I'll go on a less frenetic weekday instead next time.
