Such a great Tampa gem. I was craving a breakfast burrito and Danny's delivered. Their Honduran breakfast burrito is so good and it comes with a flavorful green sauce on the side. My husband had an egg sandwich on Cuban bread that was also delicious. Only downside is how small it is -- everyone knows it's good and it gets busy. We had to wait for maybe 10 minutes and it was a late breakfast stop, but it was totally worth it. I'm looking forward to going back (and maybe indulging in some takeout too!) read more

I was invited to join a friend for breakfast at Danny's. I am not from the Tampa Bay area, so I was very happy for the recommendation. This place is it! The food was delicious, decor cute, prices were reasonable, staff provided excellent customer service and the owner was actively working and soooo nice. OMG! What a hidden gem!!!! Danny's Coffee and Friends is fantastic. The inside is so cute and spotless and clean. I was served immediately and my waitress was so nice and helpful. You can tell she really cares about all of her customers. They were multiple other customers in the building that recognized her, and she knew them as well. The service was also extremely efficient. My food came out so quickly. My island chicken bowl was absolutely delicious. The rice, beans, chicken and plantains were so full of flavor! I could come here and get it again! Great ambiance and customer service but the food was not delicious. I will be giving them another chance before completely discarding. I read the other reviews and was pretty excited about trying them. They have reasonable prices as well. I originally ordered an horchata ice latte and I didn't not like it. The young lady was nice and rather than just discarding the drink she offered me another one and I opted for a juice. I will say the appearance of the drink was great, it looked delicious but it was not something I liked having those two flavors combined. The entree I ordered was the choripapa omelette. Usually when I think of chorizo the problem is that the chorizo is too salty but in this case, the entire omelette was just bland. The chorizo tasted like ground beef. I did ask the young lady if it was a dish she had tried and she did let me know that she never had it before. I think with a bit more salt, using actual chorizo maybe some spice added to it and smaller potato chunks it will definitely be better. I do look forward to giving it another try with different or their popular dishes. Hopefully my experience will be different next time. read more

This place is such a cute Hispanic cafe! I think the owner, Danny, has created a wonderfully authentic place. I ordered the breakfast Catrachas and a horchata to drink. Both were amazing! The catrachas were crunchy, filling, and perfectly seasoned while the horchata was a decadent treat. I also ordered some mojo pork and a guava & cream cheese tostada to go, which was also very good. Just finished eating the best sandwich I've eaten this decade - Danny's favorite - I want to eat another one right now! Perfect combo of crunch and unctuous and sweet and crispy and soft and OMG this was sandwich mastery! The place is small and charming, the menu is hugeeee, and you can tell the owner puts all her love into the food and her customers.
