    Apple cinnamon hubcake and coffee
    Allyson R.

This is one of the best diners in the Tampa area. The food is consistently great, the service is top notch, and the place is always bustling with friendly and efficient servers. My parents and I all had the apple cinnamon hubcake today. The portion is huge! I took half of mine home. The meal was as scrumptious as it looks, which is amazing. The coffee was hot and delicious too. We'll definitely go back again and again.

Full confession: I've never tried cheese grits. But if I were ever to do it, this is the place!! With bacon this good-you can trust Trip's to take everything to the next level. I stopped in on a Tuesday morning-really hungry for a great breakfast and a new restaurant to add to my rotation. I got both. This is the Seminole Heights location-on Florida Ave, not too far north of Salty Donut. It's in a building that I believe, dates back to the 1920s. It's quaint and charming inside-comfy-with vintage photos on the wall and retro maps and post cards as part of the table tops. There's a very cute counter with stools in the back. And you'll feel like a regular on your first visit, thanks to the servers. They're so welcoming-in this completely laid back kind of way. I loved it. I also enjoyed my meal! I had the egg white omelet-with spinach and feta (I nixed the tomato and onions) and wheat toast. They were also kind enough to make their breakfast potatoes for me without onions. So good! I added a side of bacon and it was divine-well done but not burnt or hard... just yummy. I'd go back just for the bacon! But this is a big menu-I have much more exploring to do. Trip's gets its name from the owners' triplets. (I believe their initials form the logo, but check me on that). There's a private parking lot right by the restaurant. They serve breakfast all day-and I think lunch and dinner all day, too (if I read the front windows correctly). This is a cozy and comfy place to be. I can't wait to come back.

Came by for lunch and opted for the chicken and waffles with coffee. I love the traditional diner vibe this place gives the second I step in, and I also appreciate the wide range of food options on the menu. I was really pleased with the dish. It came with a hearty portion of two pieces of fried chicken breast--nicely browned and crispy on the outside, with meat that was juicy and moist inside. The waffle was light and soft, but overall the plate definitely fed me for a good meal and a half. The interior feels much bigger than it looks from the outside. I came on a Tuesday, and it definitely seemed like a popular local spot, with a lively atmosphere during my visit. I also liked that there are tables, booths, and bar seating options. One note on parking: Google Maps directs you to a turn with just a couple of parking spots, but there's a much larger lot on the other side. I noticed the pies in the fridge near the cashier and they looked really good, but at $7 a slice, I decided to skip one this time. Our server, Alli D, was absolutely lovely--very sweet, checked on us a few times, and made sure we felt well taken care of.

    Trip's TRIPLE club on sourdough.

Love that places like this exist. Takes you back in time every time you visit. This diner even has the floor and bar stool seating that reminds you of the 50's and 60's. You'll see people eating here that have probably been doing so for the past 50 years. On the wall near the entrance are pics of the different restaurants this has been over the years. Our table had an old brochure of Hillsborough State Park and old post cards of Tampa Bay from the 60's. My Trip's TRIPLE club was very tasty and loaded with goodness that was finger looking good. I had it on sourdough and it was toasted. I'd give it a 4.5/5. My friend tried the hamburger with honey BBQ and Gouda cheese with bacon. Perfectly cooked. 5/5. Both of us wolfed the sweet potato fries, a 99 cent upgrade. These were excellent. Service is quick. Wish they had the chef ding a bell when food comes out or at least reminds the wait staff when food has been sitting in the pass-through for a few minutes. Not a big deal because our waitress made sure the burger was cooked exactly how it was ordered. Also friendly. Plenty of parking in the main lot on the south side of the building, which is good because many restaurants in this area of town are limited in this department. They also have outside seating, but I've never sat there. Plenty of booths and tables inside, along with the barstools for service in front of the chef. Desserts are very fairly priced. Like a root beer float for $3.99 in September 2025. Various pies and cookies with several flavors of ice cream available. Such a great trip back in time! Prices are affordable for the whole family to eat without breaking the bank.

Service 5/5: friendly staff, refilled our water, checked up on us, got our food really quickly Ambiance 5/5: clean breakfast diner vibes, veg homey. Food 5/5: the food here is always good. I got my chicken biscuit that was nice and juicy. Crispy breading however the breading doesn't really stick on the chicken, but I don't care. I just pick it up and put on the chicken eat it. Sausage gravy is delicious here. Nice and creamy and well season. The biscuit is OK it's a little bit on the dryer side. But there's some sausage gravy on it is great. Homemade fried typically done very well here when I asked for them well done this visit. It wasn't well done as I usually like it. But but typically it's done the way I like it. The shrimp and grits were also great. The shrimp was seasoned well cooked perfectly. The grits were nice and buttery. My only input would be to have the cheese melted on. I have the cheese crumbled on top, but it never really melted in. It'd be much better if it was actually melted onto the grits. Otherwise, everything is great.

Classic diner energy, open all day, prices fair, service friendly, easy parking Get an omelet if you're hungry and not sure what you want A lotta hype around shrimp grits but I can't do with mushy stuff lol

Meatloaf, Mashed Potatoes w/ Brown Gravy, Collard Greens and toast with garlic butter.

I've been here plenty of times over the years and the experience today was no different than any other experience I've had - a great one! Our server was Gretta - she was attentive and friendly. All of our orders came out correct (there were 6 of us). All the food that I had was delicious and everything everyone else had was no different. We received our food within 10-15 minutes of ordering--a bit longer than I usually like to wait, but by no means something to complain about, especially considering it was about as busy as it gets. I got the Meatloaf with 2 sides: Mashed Potatoes w/ Brown Gravy and Collard Greens and my drink was a Coke. My meal was just over $20 after tip, a fair price for the portions. Overall, always a great dining experience here. A decent sized place with the local diner feel. I've always loved the little pieces of history within each table (which can sort of be seen in my photo) in the form of old Tampa news articles, photos, maps, etc... I highly recommend to anyone looking for a casual breakfast, lunch or dinner!

3 menu items that will get me into any establishment: catfish, grits, fried green tomatoes. Trips has all 3 and all 3 were amazing. The price point is perfect. Trips isn't one for the flare, they're just in it for the authentic good food and you can tell that. They keep things simple, delicious and cost effective and that's why that parking lot is always packed!

Ate breakfast this morning at our fav spot with our favorite waitress, Yvette and it was yummy and usual. Coffee is good and the omelette was as well! Competitive to get in on the weekends - but we were successful today!

The food. The pancakes are huge.

The service was top.notch along with the ambiance. The place is.very cozy inside. My sister suggested this place. I was not to.pleased with the.food, it was ok ok. I had bacon(was.crispy & good), eggs. Grits(did not care for), pancake(huge) was alright.

Found this place on TikTok and absolutely loved it! We came on a weekend and didn't have to wait at all. The service was great from start to finish, and the food was amazing. I had the chicken and biscuit with gravy, and the "mini" pancake was huge! The inside was super clean and welcoming. Overall, such a great breakfast spot and I can't wait to come back!

    Peanut butter pie
    Kristen H.

I'm full but I had to get something since I came here to edit footage. So pie. Love me some pie. Peanut butter pie aka Reese's pie is the best according to the waitress. See below. I don't think I need to explain.

    A huge pancake.

If we return someday I will go Greek, as I found my burger a little dry and kind of a challenge. My choice was their Dallas BBQ Cheeseburger with bacon, which I asked to be cooked medium. My plate was full with the burger itself, fries, and separately the usual burger toppings. With the onion rings and the bacon strips, I decided to not try to assemble with the toppings but just include those as I ate. The slowness of the meal was noticeable, I started with a side Caesar Salad, which took about 20 minutes to arrive.
