We've used Danny's Tutoring over the years. First my eldest son, and now my younger son used one of Danny's talented tutors, Dylan Hines, to help him review his algebra before his year-end chapter test. He was having issues with understanding a couple of important parts. According to my son, Dylan was patient in hearing him out, and then clearly explained the process of how to identify and work out the equations. My son said that Dylan was of great help. He took his test today with confidence as he could easily spot which problems were of "excluded" and "extraneous" values. Over the years Danny's has always connected us with enthusiastic and knowledgeable tutors. I just discovered Danny's Tutoring this year (through a friend) and it was a (school) life saver for my HS age son! He loved the 2 tutors he was paired with. One of the tutors was able to tutor a second subject he was taking, so he was able to get help with 3 of his AP classes. Before we started tutoring, he wasn't sure if he was even going to take the AP tests for a couple of these classes, but he felt so much more confident after the help from his tutors and did take the tests (scores still tbd)... As a parent of two high schoolers, the struggle to find the balance between letting the kids figure it out and find their path vs step in and help them with tools is tough. I was referred to Danny's tutoring by a friend of my son who spoke very highly of the individualized tutoring their family was receiving. After we reached out to find out more, my son was paired with a tutor who was also a student at a college on the other side of the country. I was concerned at first about the time difference but the tutor has been exceptional in every way. I put my son, the tutor and myself on a group text thread (after meeting with the tutor) and for months now, it's enabled my son to independently and responsibly manage his time, his tutoring schedule as well, taught him to be at the his laptop in a conducive space in order to respectfully maximize his time with his tutor each week. In addition, the tutor is amazing and customizes each session with content relevant to what is going on for my son in school that week. We are now getting through finals and I found him doing his tutor's recommended worksheets on a Saturday morning without prompting or asking him to do so. Danny's Tutoring is the kind of organization that empowers the students, helps the families, and doesn't charge you an arm and a leg. I truly believe they have the students' best interests at heart, and they care about helping these kids learn how to study, how to build self esteem in subjects they struggle in, and give them a sense of ownership of their individual process. My son's grades have gone up in Math and Spanish, two subjects he was really struggling with 8 months ago. I can't say enough great things about them, and especially about Makena our son's tutor. We have been using Danny's tutoring for many years for both of my kids. From Algebra 2 to Geometry to Financial Algebra, Danny always finds a fantastic tutor that is both knowledgeable and patient. He has a large staff of college students, grade school teachers, and college professors, who are very well qualified to teach any level of math (and every other subject as well). Danny is also very responsive and pretty much will find the perfect tutor within a day or two.
