Last week we catered from Danny Woks and order wings, chicken fried rice and chicken Lo mein. Horrible! Horrible food. The Lo Mein was dry and tasteless. The fried rice was equally dry and extremely disgusting. What a waste of money! I am Asian and was disgusted that they use rice from who knows where! No one could eat that food. Been going here for years.... I know this place has a history of being a little suspect but the wings are the best especially for parties.

They make too many wings ahead of time. Shrimp rool used to be the best but lately not crispy made ahead of ordered. I like at least 6 duck sauce and hot mustard they never want to give it to you. Y'all need to be a shamed to call the fried rice chines food. I bought 2 shrimp fried rice and wing dishes yesterday. The rice taste like, look like the 90 second rice you heat in the microwave. 2 out of the 4 shrimp that was in the dish were mushy. An oldie but somewhat of an goodie. Danny Wok is definitely nostalgic to me. In the early 2000's this place was the spot and everbody and they momma frequent Danny Wok's for their amazing crispy and crunchy like no other fried chicken. Yep people would buy their chicken by the pans. My aunt, dad and friends looved us some Danny Wok's. It definitely was a hood charm. Then it got renovated and womp womp it lost the charm. Thankful for the upgrade but now their infamous fried chicken is not the same anymore, it doesn't stand out from the crowd. It just taste like standard chicken from the Chinese store. I also ordered their shrimp lo mien and that was eh okay. Overall sevice is still rude AF. My in laws lived in this area since Danny's Wok opened. This community has supported the establishment, promoted them to be a Steve Harvey Hoodie Award contestant, and stood by them when the health department was shutting them down; which caused them to remodel the entire facility. I went in yesterday for a large order for an office party. The staff was incredibly RUDE, and nasty. You go in with a smile and a thoughtful hello, you're greeted with a blank stare, a snare and impatient attitude. I had not been there in years, and there is no love lost because I will not be back! They are racking up the dollars in there, but can't appreciate the clientele? You are fully aware of the area you chose, so don't treat people like they're sub human! I have been going to Danny Wok off and on since 1993 when their wings cost about $.40/per wing. They are $1+ per wing now. This Thursday turned from not having my lunch day to my Treat Thursday! This was a normal setup for this kind of store, but nothing inviting about it. The sketchy people that hang outside begging for money when you come in and out of the store made me uncomfortable. However, when I am in the area, I make sure to get there wings. They weren't crowded like in times past. I was in and out the restaurant in less than 5 minutes. The young guy behind the counter was professional when he greeted and asked me if can help me, took my order and money. He even said thank you. In the past, it was a hit or miss on whether they would say thank you. They are so consistent with having those hot wings ready to pick up. They are crispy and not over cooked. People come in just for the chicken (ordering big party trays of 50 or 100). They are really good too. I like mine plain, but you can get toppings on them too (hot sauce, ketchup, mustard, cheez whiz, etc...). Like I said, I like mine plain but apparently some people like all those extras on their wings (otherwise I'm sure it wouldn't be offered). I will say that this place is definitely in a shady location. I grew up in Philly and will mess somebody UP if they try to stop me from getting my wings so I was cool. But I wouldn't recommend certain people who might not blend in to try this place. Pros: The wings are very crispy. They remind me of Popeye wings, the way they are flaky and crispy and just melt in your mouth. The flavor of the wings are good and they are of a respectable size. I put hot sauce from home on mine. Service is very fast. It literally took them like 1 minute to take my order, fill the bag, and ring me out. Cons: Service is very fast. They have an army of people who appear to be asian in the back working like robots to quickly serve you. The woman who took my order shouted "WHO NEXT" instead of smiling at me and asking if she could help me. GREASE! These wings are swimming in women with their own condominium, 5'5 who drive Millenniums. SIKE they are swimming in GREASE. My girlfriend had to steal my napkin to wipe the grease off her mouth. Prices are kind of high in my opinion. I brought 10 wings for $8. This is a hood spot.....but those aren't hood prices. Overall: I'd rate Danny Wok as a 7/10. The wings are great and you get fast service. The location is horrible and you're thankful for the fast service so you can get out of there quickly. Bar none, this is my favorite Chinese take-out spot. Their assembly-line efficiency is a sight to behold and their food is absolutely amazing, both on its own and for the price. When it comes to Chinese food, I'm a creature of habit, because the very last thing I need when I'm desperate for a good meal is a white paper box of refuse from a soggy, overripe diaper. Thankfully, Danny's Wok doesn't deal in that kind of garbage whatsoever. What they do offer are amazing soups, a killer General Tso's, a house special fried rice that would cause hungry men to commit crimes, and customer service that doesn't even pretend to kiss your puckered starfish. I don't know about you, but I like that: we're here to trade currency for food. I don't expect more, and it's honestly awkward for me to get more. Now, this isn't to say they're not nice. I've never had a negative experience, from order to receipt at Danny's Wok. Sure, the assholes outside who want my change...they're a different story. If they could just use their words to speak real sentences, I'd be more inclined to hook them up with a little heroin change. But I don't just give away money, willy-nilly, to heroin addicts without at least a few faux-earnest words and a rehearsed tale of woe. My heartstrings are almost too tuggable, but pretty much only respond to audible English. Sorry. All that aside, the food and the place is great. I order online before I go, and as a result I never have to wait. The staples of Chinese-American cuisine are all there, and they're all better than I've ever had them...which, of course, led to some rumors a few years back that these folks were serving some--exotic--animals. Naturally, that's a complete fabrication, and I'm glad that their amazing food outlived that vicious rumor. I love this place, and consider myself a diehard fan of theirs. If they sold t-shirts, I'd buy every size so that I could still fit into one as their food makes me fatter and fatter. If a man is going to die in such a short span of time as it is, that man might as well die happy, and for me, that "happy" would be the ability to regularly feast on meals from Danny's Wok. I have only ordered their wings but a coworker said the food was tasty. I wanted to start simple with won ton soup, shrimp egg rolls and chicken wings. The wings were good everything was horrible. The won ton soup broth was dark brown like it was beef stock. The won ton noodle tasted horrible. It wasn't freshly made and had a sour fishy taste. I've been going to Danny Wok for years for all my large party orders. Stopped there on Christmas for a pan of wing dings and I was HIGHLY upset. The wing dings were a fraction of the normal size that I had been getting for yours. They were some of the smallest wings I've ever seen in my life. As much as I love the chicken I can't see paying the price for such small pieces of chicken. They were like chicken nugget size wing dings.
