    Shepherd 's Pie

This was a hidden gem of a find! We ended up here because we needed food (and drinks lol) that was nearby and had a cheesesteak: this location checked off all of our boxes. This building is old and historic. When we walked in signs directed us to go upstairs. As we walked up 2 (maybe 3) flights of stairs, we passed 4 different drinking rooms that were all decorated slightly differently. When we made it to the top, the room opened to a bar with seats all the way around it. This room made 5 drinking rooms in total and had a dart board and TVs for entertainment. There was bar and low tables for seating. The bartenders were welcoming and friendly. Both of them treated us like we were locals that were usuals at the bar/pub. This is an old school bar/pub so don't expect a cocktail list and plan to order a basic drink or a beer. My husband did a draft beer and I did a double Captain and Cranberry. Both drinks hit the spot and were refreshing. To eat, my husband had the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and I had the Shepherd's Pie. The Cheesesteak was extremely large with well seasoned meat that was very flavorful. The Shepherd's Pie was OFF THE CHARTS DELICIOUS!!! The aroma of the pie made your mouth water before it even made it to your seat. Each bite was full of flavor, peas, carrots, mash, and meat. It had just the right amount of moisture and was the perfect consistency. The mashed potatoes on top were seasoned beautifully, light and fluffy but with a crispy exterior. I am a HUGE fan of Shepherd's Pies and this is by far the best one I have ever eaten. This is definitely a place to check out! I cannot wait for my next visit and my next Shepherd's Pie.

Don't forget to check in on Yelp to get 10 percent discount. My husband and I came here to watch Liverpool game. There are many TVs so everyone can enjoy watching the game. Paul the bartender is very good and attentive. Drinks came out right away. My husband had Bloody Mary but it was not good because it was a bit frozen. Fried pickles: good portion size, enough for sharing with 3-4 people. The batter was light and crunchy, similar to funnel cake. The pickle itself was paper-thin and small, probably almost the same size as a quarter. The batter stayed in tact, perfect for dipping. Highly recommend. Buffalo chicken salad: a lot of strips of breaded chicken breast. The breading didn't fall apart and soaked the flavor of the buffalo sauce. The buffalo sauce had perfect balance of acidity and heat. I really enjoyed it. Sliders: cute presentation with a slice of pickle And tomato on top. The meat wasn't dry. It comes with fries.

Have been a big fan of Cavs food for a long time. Ordered pick up multiple times during this crisis and the food was great. HOWEVER, I just ordered and my order included Mac' n cheese. It looks NOTHING like I've had in the past and is not what is advertised. It is 100% stouffers. It is fake microwaved pasta delivered to my door for 15 bucks. I'm still going to eat it but complete disrespect. Won't ever be back. Good luck.

Extremely quick delivery order, and everything came hot! Really tasty fish and chips, with the fries being the perfect texture. Wings were huge and super flavorful. The burger was stacked with a huge tomato and tons of cheese. Fresh and tasty on a Friday night!

There really isn't a lot to say except that I've had some of the best FISH TACOS of my life here. Order them and devour them, they're incredible. Be warned though, they are spicy with that pickles onion and Habanero sauce kick but wow, I was definitely not expecting those. Don't order the chicken sandwich with fries, it's a little bland. It can get packed on a Saturday night so there isn't a lot of sitting room. If you see a table, grab it.

They have two rooms you can book, one is smaller and a bit cramped which we grew out of, but the other room can easily accommodate 100 or so people. Our crews around 35 and we barely put a dent into filling that room. It has TV's everywhere and they can put some music on for you if you'd like. Booking it had a minimum of $1500 total with no tip tied to it. $500 down. Besides their catering menu, the management's worked with me to find a fair catering price for regular menu items. The staff has been so accommodating and is so easy to work with. We've had items like: Zingers, Bone-in wings (served dry/they put a mix of sauces on the side) , Atlantic salmon, pot stickers, mix of chicken and steak fajita (steaks not bad at all), mac and cheese, BBQ full racks of ribs (cut up into smaller portions fall off the bone), chicken parmesan w fettuccine alfredo, Cajun chicken pasta, fried shrimp, fried calamari, house salad, prime rib French dip sandwich (one of my favs) and mini burgers. Everyone has enjoyed the food and the staff gives you containers for take home. Drink wise they have plenty of options from typical beers to a few crafts, the gang really enjoyed the Merry Berry Margaritas at $4.99. Soft drinks are $3.99 per person and then free refills. Beers are $6.99, you don't see that often in Philly! For desserts we always get a Captain Jack's whole ice cream cake and popular choices were Cheesecakes and Chocolate Brownie Sundae's. I've eaten in the restaurant too and on my last visit I had the Big Red sandwich - Crispy buttermilk-marinated chicken breast tossed in hot sauce, melted blended cheeses. I thought it was pretty good the bun is crispy and toasted/charred a little.. Nothing crazy special about the 'wich, but the chicken was juicy, well sauced and a big portion. Whenever I stop in for lunch they are never packed. In my opinion, don't expect to be blown away with flavors, but I think Miller's gives you a good experience and food at a fair price. Thanks guys!

Now here's the strange part. The dining room itself is really cool. Big screens everywhere, great sports-bar vibe, and the staff was friendly and attentive the entire time. If the rating was based purely on atmosphere and service, this place would probably do just fine. But the wings... my god, the wings. These were some of the worst wings I've ever had in my life, and I've eaten wings all over the country and even in other countries. I've tried just about every level of heat out there, including sauces from the Hot Ones wing challenge. I ordered a mild order of wings. Instead, what showed up were wings that were absolutely nuclear hot. I'm not even talking about the fact that they were half wings, which already feels like a bit of a cheap move. The real problem was the heat level. I asked for mild and got something that felt like it belonged on a dare menu. Two hours later my lips were still burning. I didn't even finish them. Six wings sat there because there was just no way I was putting another one in my mouth. As for the rest of the food, I honestly can't say much. My wife ordered a cheesesteak, but I offered her one of my wings because there was no way I was eating all six of them. That one wing burned her mouth so badly she said she barely even remembers eating the cheesesteak after that. So yeah -- cool room, great staff. But if you're coming here for wings... you might want to bring a fire extinguisher.

Hostess was welcoming and they were kind when we were about 5min beyond their 15min lateness window (we did call ahead about it though). Our table was comfortable and attractive, but the lighting was such that somehow we were under a bright light while the rest of the room was quite dark so it felt a little on display. I also got a real "city vibe" from the other patrons, like just cold and pseudo-hostile as I've often felt from city dwellers as a suburbanite. No smiles or even acknowledgment from others as you walk to/from the bathroom or brush past someone getting to your seat. Just did not feel like any holiday was happening in there. Other places downtown don't seem to have this vibe despite their obvious urban demographic. It could be the cold weather, political climate, or just that crowd at that time, but that was the overwhelming ambiance I felt. Had the "All In The Family" bourbon flight, including Basil Hayden, Knob Creek, and Maker's Cask. Loved the Maker's Cask, was not a fan of the others. Also had a Michter's US*1 which was a lucky blind pick for me, very good! I will say our server was quite sweet and did a very good job. She smiled, made eye contact, and was knowledgeable about the food. She wasn't fully versed in the extensive whiskey menu but they really need some kind of manual or bourbon "Bible" to explain all the various batches and makers, so I don't discredit her for that, though Twisted Tail ought to be on top of that with a didactics for their bountiful booze. I acknowledge and second many photos and reviews saying seasoning was needed, particularly on meats. My husband needed salt to try to save his "prime rib" by which he was so disappointed and consequently grumpy the rest of the meal. My son's ham was good but not the highest quality. My short rib was okay but also needed salt. Sides were varied and plentiful, and all tasted decent. I'd have to say they redeemed the meal for me. The variety and selection were spot on for Thanksgiving, all the tastes and flavors you would want or expect of the holiday! Dessert was pies that tasted at least a week old. They were dry, flavorless (except sugar), and difficult to cut. After 2 bites I just stopped eating. Flavors were the predictable pumpkin, apple or pecan. It really doesn't matter which I ate because all we tried were equally terrible. They charged an obligatory 20% service fee. We added another 10% to it.
