This new location is so cutely decorated. Lots of Coca-Cola nostalgia and sock cop music playing. In the service was really great. The downside was the food . It wasn't terrible. It just didn't have any taste. We got onion, burgers and tots and a drink for 20 bucks. And the tots tasted better than the burger. And it could've been where we were sitting, but the music was so loud the six of us could not even hear each other speak. I did like the fact that they had a burger bar set up where you could add your own toppings and sauces, but I just wanted more out of the burger. Maybe it's just me but for $20. Great little diner. They serve onion burgers. They are phenomenal. Love the condiment bar where you can dress your burger however you want it. A small order of fries is huge and can probably be shared between two people. Onion rings are awesome as well. I don't have anything negative to say about Dan's. read more

I really wanted Dan's to be great again and very successful! Southsiders will always support good southside businesses. I have DOTD a second chance tonight since opening their new location and once again I was disappointed. The burger had zero seasoning, the prices IMHO were high, they charged for water. We were so excited to eat at the new location. Food came out great onions were a little under for my liking but not bad. Decor was charming and we didn't smell like cooked onions like the old location. The biz kill was the mouse running across the floor did it for us. This restaurant has a great omniops and the name. It doesn't live up to its name being Old Time Diner. The problem is had was you have to pay for your meal first and the waiter wanted a tip. How can you tip someone that has even served your food. The waiter tried to charge me twice for one meal. They also don't serve Old Time Floats. The food was good. I will not be coming back. I like old time diners but they are hard to fine. Hope this help others. read more

Ambiance is cool. Loved the decor, seating, and just overall vibe of the location. Staff and service was spectacular. Very helpful and engaging. Food cost wise was in line. Large quantity for the price, but was just ok in flavor. Needed more seasoning as it was just meh overall. Dan's produces great food at a decent value. Don't be fooled, Dan's is a "burger joint" with a limited menu, but what they have tastes great. A large fry was plenty for 2 adults and 2 kids, so keep this is mind. Fried pickles were some of the better ones I've had in a while. My family and I went on a Friday after the lunch rush and only waited about 10 minutes for our meal. Open seating is nice and allows for flexibility. The old Coke memorabilia is fun to look at while waiting for your food or to keep kiddos occupied. I've been to Dan's on and off for over 20 years, highly recommended! read more

Absolute garbage. Paid 39 dollars for 2 hamburgers and 2 fries and am now on my way home to eat because there was virtually less meat than a McDonald cheeseburger. They even charge for water cups. HAD been a customer there since 1989 and was horribly disappointed and will make sure everyone I know to steer clear with everything you have so not to get ripped off like us. read more

When I want an onion burger and tater tots, this is where I go! My husband loves their fries and I love their tots. Highly recommend.

The burger was good, not great. The patty had good taste but was so small. Fried onions were awesome. I like having the condiments and veggies at a bar so I could fix it my way. The fries were good and petite size was plenty for 1. I love fresh cut fries but they are cut thinner than typical and thus are very limp. The atmosphere is kind of cool but I had to bus my own table even though they didn't seem too busy. Let's talk value. $6.18 for a burger where the meat to bread ratio was weak and the bun needed a little more toasting to give it that crunch when you bite in (disappointing). $3.55 for a drink is ridiculous, worse it's robbery. Charging extra for credit card?! I think there's a state law restricting that. Was it worth $13? Nope. This isn't El Reno or Nic's Grill. I could see paying $9 for a burger basket here but not $14. Used to frequent this place every week back in the day, known for great onion burgers and heaping basket of fries. Went there Tuesday for lunch. Burgers great. Side left me feeling a certain way. Fries weren't heaping and the onion ring I ordered were lacking. For 4ish dollars, I got 5 full onion rings and a couple pieces. Little disappointed. read more

Went in today hoping for an amazing visit! Left hungry! Ordered a big Dan. It was paper thin and undercooked. Workers didn't care that I ordered it without onions because it came out with onions that were on the grill for a different burger. When asked about the size of the burger, the worker said oh the meat has been kind of fatty--- to be honest it seems like nobody cared. Ordered a side of fries they didn't come out with my burger. After finishing my burger and my water, my fries were still down in the deep fryer. When I brought that to their attention, they said they would drop more fries. First fries were way over cooked and the second batch were undercooked. For $15 what a joke! The workers were too busy yakking it up in the back to even care! I Will never be back and you are tarnishing over 25 years of good service with your lack of care and disgrace for serving a subpar undercooked burger, and fries. This has always been and will always be my go to onion burger joint until they go out of business, which I hope that they never ever ever ever do that! It is a little hole in the wall diner, but let me tell you the burgers are always on point the onions are phenomenal. They always have fresh condiments to put on your burger. I mean everything about this place is Amazing and they Modeled and it looks even better in there now poor Dan died years and years ago I forget how and I never met the guy but my parents did and they say he was a pretty awesome guy I mean he had to have been pretty kick ass to pass on such an amazing burger, recipes/joint and I hope that Dan's old-time diner never goes out of business and I just hope that everyone on the southside would give them a chance because not only is it reasonably prize, but the food is phenomenal and the fries are out of this world I forgot about the french fries. Worst service ever... Called an order in, went to pick it up 45 minutes later because I know they are crazy slow. Stood in line for another 30 min behind just one man while they reset the 1984 computer system. I was told to wait another 30 minutes for them to start the order when I finally got to pay. So an hour and 15 minutes after the order was placed. I was told it would be at least another 30 for them to make it. Manager said "yeah so what, we got busy". They weren't that busy. Huge difference between between being busy and completely incompetent. Worth 2 hour wait.... Not even close. Stay away! read more

The kids were wearing red, blue, and yellow and the country man was wearing overalls and a cowboy hat. service was good too, but the ambiance was a little scary... there was this strange person sitting in the back not saying a word or eating... just staring at the country man. the person eventually got up and talked to the country man when the power shut off. this is what the kids and the country man looked like, i couldnt get a good image. and there was an employee who looked like this. Not sure who is running this place now but not the same as in the past. Food is still good but service and cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. Floors are filthy and look to not have been cleaned in months. Several areas where food has been spilled and not cleaned up. This is a great local little burger joint. Everything is a la carte, so it can be a little pricy, but still it's fresh made. No frozen patties here! The whole store is decked out in Coke memorabilia. It was bought/collected before Coke went crazy. The customer service is nice though! Just a bit of advice: the large fries feed at least two. You should definitely come support this local business. Very surprised I didn't enjoy my dinner more at Dan's. My family has come to Dan's for many years, and I have fond memories of the place. So, I was looking forward to a return visit after I moved back home. Either Dan's has changed, or my palate has changed. Regardless, I was severely disappointed when I had dinner at Dan's on a Wednesday, so much so I almost gave it 2 stars. We arrived at Dan's right at 6. We were the only ones in line, but a short line formed soon after we arrived. I'd say there were no more than half a dozen tables seated the entire time we were there, but they had a steady business. You place your order, then sit down and wait for your name to be called. Dan's has two dining areas, and both have a lot of Coke memorabilia from a bygone era. So, if you like that sort of thing, Dan's is for you. They call your name and you get your food. They have a bar in the middle of the smaller dining area that has the condiments: veggies, mustard, mayo, ketchup, ranch, etc. Your burger comes plain, you dress it. On our visit, the tomato was nearly out and the lettuce had browned on the top. Now, I understand if it's near the end of the day and you don't want to restock because the veggies will be wasted. But, we had our burgers before 6:15. So, that was annoying. I had a third pound onion burger with bacon, dressed with veggies and mayo. The table shared a large fry (we had 2 adults eating and 1 child, and we left some fries. As others note, the fries are large) and an order of bacon cheese tater tots. The tater tots were your basic fast food tots with melted American cheese and a slice or so of crumbled up bacon on top. The order was about 15 or so tots. I would call this size a "medium" at most places. This was $4.20. They weren't bad, but they certainly weren't worth that price, even with real bacon on top. My burger was DRY. Shockingly dry. I know the method of making an onion burger requires the cook to smash the burger down into the onion. You are necessarily going to lose some of the fat, or juice, or FLAVOR from the burger. I get that. But, this was maybe the driest version of this Oklahoma classic I've had. It was crumbling it was so dry. Major disappointment. Also, the onions were not evenly distributed throughout the burger. I don't know if you can call it an onion burger if around a third of the bites don't have onion. The fries were absolutely the best part of the meal. Fried to perfection and hand cut from the potatoes. They were between thin and thick, which is a nice width for me. No seasoning that I could taste, but once they were salted they were solid. Great potato flavor. They're the reason Dan's gets 3 stars instead of 2. Maybe I went on an off night; I would be willing to try Dan's again. But, based on this experience, my memories of this place as a child do not match the current version. read more

Hit or miss, just really depends on who is cooking. When it's on, it's as good as any burger you'll ever eat. When it's not, it is very average. I order mine with extra cheese every time, and I only actually receive that extra cheese about half of the time. That's frustrating, and that extra cost adds up, especially when you consider that I've been coming here for 20+ years. The bacon-cheese tots are awesome, fries are great, and the toppings bar are what keep me coming, but it is frustrating to have to hope that the right guy is cooking, and more importantly that he'll remember your extra items that you've paid for. Could easily be 5 stars, but until there is any kind of quality control or attention to detail, it's about 3.5 at best, consistently anyways. read more
