I had an issue with my ten-year-old plasma television. I called lots of places, but they either couldn't see me for one reason or another, or they were asking far too much for an in-home estimate. I called Dan, and he came out shortly after our call. He had a reasonable rate, and knew how to diagnose my tv in just a few minutes. I actually took a nap while he worked on my tv- that's how trustworthy I found him to be! Within an hour and a half my television was better than new! The initial problem had disappeared. Almost even better, he somehow made the picture sharper and the colors brighter (I have no idea how he accomplished that- neither of those issues were part of the original problem.) I just called to get an estimate to repair a 4 year old 55" LG flat screen which we bought for about $1,000 back then. I read on the internet that when the plastic lenses inside fall off, it can be glued back on. So I was curious what Dan's TV would tell me - he said it can be done, but it would just eventually fall off again. He could've easily have told me to bring it in and he'd do it "to make a quick buck", but he was honest & upfront about it, not recommending to do a micky-mouse repair. Completely inflexible. Though he advertises "same day service," he did not even return my early call until after hours. I waited two more days for an appointment but when he finally arrived, he refused to work on the set because it had been serviced before by a different company. I told him I'd pay him for the house call if he'd just take a quick look and give me some guidance. He again refused and walked out without even a good-bye. My 16-year-old plasma TV started having power issues and, soon enough, wouldn't turn on. I used a DIY tech service to troubleshoot it, and it was a common problem with the power board. However, LONG ago, they went out of production... Dan, ALL the way in the other valley was the only one responsive. He came out when he'd promised (on a Saturday, no less!). Took the TV AND left me a loaner! What a lifesaver! It took a while to locate the part - I want to be VERY clear this wasn't on him. My TV required a salvaged part, which then had to be tested. When a TV is scrapped for parts, they save everything except what's obviously broken. So my power board would be iffy and had to be tested and certified GTG, which Dan did. He got the TV back, he and I rehung it, and it's been working GREAT, ever since! The cost of the service was was about ten-percent of what it would've cost to replace it! WHAT A DEAL!!! For those who wrote that he was rude or argumentative, I'm at a loss - this does NOT fit the character of the person with whom I dealt on MANY occasions! I spoke with two other companies that received excellent reviews on Yelp. One gave me the super hard sell and said he could fix it the same day for $250. I learned from Dan later that he probably would have replaced the burnt out LEDs rather than replacing all 16 LEDs in my eight year old tv. The other company said I needed to buy a new tv. Both said my new tv would not last as long as getting my old tv repaired. The second company just didn't want to do the work. I called Dan for a third opinion. Dan agreed a new tv would not last as long as my old tv. He recommended getting all new LED backlights which he would have to order and it may take up to two weeks to receive the new parts. He happened to have the same year and model number as my old tv, which I checked. The only difference was the screen was two inches bigger. He recently repaired it by replacing all the LEDs. He said I could use this tv until he repaired my old tv or I could actually buy it for $350. I bought it and could not be happier plus he gave me a one year warranty. I was struck by Dan's honesty and straight forwardness from the get go, otherwise I would not have bought the tv. I highly recommend him and will use him in the future. read more

I had a horrible experience with this TV repair service. I called on a Friday which I was told the soonest someone could come out was Tuesday morning 10-11. At 10:35am, I recv'd a call that the repair man was running 20 min late. An hour later he showed up. When I asked if they usually run that late when giving a customer an hour window in the first place, he refused to do the service and said "Life wasn't fair" and other unprofessional nonsense. I believe my question was valid and should not of been refused service after waiting days. It was him that was in the wrong and was simply asking a question which he would of asked if the tables were turned. Everytime Dan arrives to fix my TV, I vow to post a review, but always forget. Well, this time I didn't forget. He's the real deal like the repairmen in the past when it was actually worth getting a major appliance fixed and not just replacing it automatically. He knows his stuff, is scrupulously honest, dedicated and friendly. I have a great big screen Sony TV that I really didn't want to replace and he's always been able to fix it, but also gives me the options including whether I should consider buying a new TV and assesses the pro's and con's for me candidly. In the last few years, instead of taking the TV back to his shop, he brings a variety of parts so he can fix it on-site so he can do a same-day repair. I can't say enough good things about him. He shows up when he says he will, he communicates well and he knows his stuff. We had Dan's TV come out to repair our relatively new Sony TV. It would not turn on. We decided to allow him to take the TV (actually, just the part he had determined was not functioning) to his shop. After more than a week, the part was returned and the TV worked. We were given a 3 month warranty. Two months later, it had the same issue--would not turn on. We called to schedule an appointment to have it fixed under the warranty, but explained that because of the lockdown, we could not get it to him within the 3 month warranty--even though it had failed again long before the 3 months! We were told we were out of luck, as once the 3 months was up, they would have not responsibility. They also alluded to the fact that if something else was wrong, it wouldn't be fixed. But, since the symptoms were the same, if they didn't diagnose properly, shouldn't that be on them??? Not happy. Time for a new TV--It's cheaper than their repairs! read more
