Great venue for a concert. Beautiful scenery in a cozy setting. Unfortunately, the line to get a drink was excessively long.

We especially enjoyed good, hot coffee in the mornings. The environment, though, was not as shown in the photos. The house is extremely cluttered and somewhat strange, with collections of items displayed virtually everywhere. The furnishings are a bit shabby, but generally clean. Breakfast was sub-par. Fruit was good, but pancakes and pre-fab waffles, unappetizing sausage, and some kind of baked oats mush was just not appealing. The owners are very nice and accommodating, but we would not choose to stay here again. It is the closest to the cave, though, so worth considering for that.

When we pulled up, the owner was on the porch welcoming us into their home. The dinner was finishing on the stove, and the house smelled wonderful. The owners were very welcoming; I felt more like a family member who needed somewhere to sleep while in town than a guest. We chose the most significant room with the best bathroom ever. The owners had a mini-fridge in the place with complimentary drinks. They had wine for purchase, but we had brought our own. I like how the owners didn't mind us bringing our own. They have a beautiful fire pit in the back of the house. The owners offered to light one for us, but we were just too tired to enjoy it. We did, however, appreciate the bed; it was the most beautiful bed I have ever slept in. The linens were like what a penthouse suite would have. It was incredible after a long drive. We had forgotten everything at home, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, and toothpaste. I had no razor, and I was not looking forward to sleeping without brushing and shaving. However, to my great surprise, ALL THOSE THINGS WERE THERE! I was so shocked and relieved. The next morning we got a knock on the door for breakfast. The most fantastic meal was on the table from the freshly cut strawberries to the homemade omelet. I felt again like a family member coming to visit. We walked around the property, and it was beautiful! Every one of the birdhouses had baby birds in them. The porch sits among a picturesque front garden. The little details all around show a lot of love is invested there. We had to leave that morning, and I felt like again, my family was sad. I had to go and want us to come back. The owner stood in the window as we drove off. I will be back to bed and breakfast. My boyfriend and I after being introduced to B&Bs with such a positive experience have decided to not stay in chains ever again. I know why this is a 5 star place and will stay that

General Morgan was so enamored with Myrtledene that he chose to spare it when his Raiders burned and looted much of Lebanon, a Union stronghold. In fact, it was here where the white flag of truce was flown atop a pole used to clean the tall ceilings. Today's "raiders" can use Myrtledene as their headquarters as they come to experience traditional Southern hospitality and visit the many area attractions I would love to learn more about the history of this gorgeous manor.

(very pretty, though, and we survived due to my other-worldly driving skills). The B&B apparently has some history to it relating to the Civil War, as does the city of Lebanon. This is supposedly one of the few houses that was not burned when the Confederate army seized it. The house is quite charming if you're into old houses. Our room was fairly nice with maybe a few too many pieces of furniture stuffed in it. You don't really have a private bathroom unless nobody else is staying there. They seem to be improving the place, as they were putting in central air while we were there (I think). The Good: The bed was comfortable, there is free wireless, and the owner/operator is very pleasant. Breakfast was good. The Bad: The grounds needed some tending to. The grass was very over-grown, as were the vines hanging over the front walk-way. Breakfast was about 45 minutes late and we didn't have access to coffee until breakfast was ready (though it was very good). The owner/operators have two young children. They didn't disturb us, though you should know this is sort of a family-friendly establishment. Some of you may like that, and some of you may not. If ever in the middle of Kentucky again, we would consider staying here again.

The vibe and decor is an eclectic mix of yesteryear meets modern, bright and airy! It's a perfect blend! The new owners are still ongoing their projects of updating many things; yet it seems as if everything has already been done! There has been no detail left out! It's spic and span CLEAN from top to bottom! Super Cleanliness is a big PLUS for me! The breakfasts are absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS! The presentation in the Dining room is where the experience starts! Presentation truly is everything and The Hill House has it! Jim and Cheryl are both very creative people! I'm sure they'll keep the updates going until they have it just SO-SO to meet their level of what they want this lovely home to be! My cousin and I had a 2 night stay here while visiting the Bardstown KY area. I stayed in the Maple Room. My cousin was in the Magnolia room. I couldn't have been more fortunate than to have a chosen the room that just absolutely was everything I'd want it to be. (Be very careful of the lower door knobs or you get locked in your room. Jim is going to change out all of these. You'll be fine if you don't lock that bottom doorknob!) Thank you so much to Jim and Cheryl that made our stay truly enjoyable. Jim, an extra thank you for helping me exit out of the parking lot upon departure in the rain on those curvy roads. To Cheryl, I just hate it that with the rain and all that I forgot those amazing leftovers out of the fridge. I sure was looking forward to that later this evening! You both went above and beyond! Best of wishes to you on the rest of your Journey! I have just a couple of tips for anyone traveling here. You need to physically type in the address into your GPS. If you don't, you'll end up like me driving in circles in some of the most beautiful farmlands and rolling hills I've ever seen! That part was great, but, you may panic, like I did! The location is very easy to pass right by it and end up doing this. However, it was because I spoke my GPS instead of actually typing in the address. Also, if you should have any physical limitations, be aware that there are stairs down to the patio and then of course if you're staying in a room on the upper level, there are stairs. This is an Historic home and there are no elevators. Also, be prepared for a lot of winding roads in the areas between Bardstown and Loretto. The roads themselves are beautiful, but there are so many people that live there that drive SO FAST around those curves, that I was truly frightened a couple of times. I suppose the locals know the roads and they're not concerned. I hope someone in the City Council, or the Mayor, becomes concerned, and SOON. Better to advice their residents to cool it on these roads before someone dies a tragic death here. I hate to write that but I don't want anyone harmed on the roads of Loretto, KY. I can't believe the local law enforcement doesn't seem concerned about this.

Ours was compact but had all the necessaries. The room was comfortable. Like the rest of the inn it had old books and other antiques. The bed had a hand stitched quilt. It was comfortable. The light from the street lamps outside was bright so the room was not dark. I do not know what the rooms on the back were like. The television though small got over 100 channels. The train passed by 2 - 3 times a night so I was glad I had earplugs to help. Breakfast was not included and was $10 per person. It was served family style. Scrambled eggs, waffles and bacon served with juice and coffee. They are located off the Mammoth Cave Railroad trail and within 7 miles of the park. If you are looking for somewhere to stay near Mammoth Caves the Grand Victoria is a great option.

My husband and I were so impressed by the beautiful layout and convenience of everything in one place. Our daughter was over the moon when she heard that she could get married here. The venue is located in the gorgeous Gethsemane, KY just a short drive from Bardstown, the bourbon capital of the world. It's a peaceful drive to the country. The whole campus is quite impressive with numerous bed and breakfasts, an amphitheater with great entertainment on most Friday nights all summer and a tasting room. The Legacy is a beautiful building on the outside but be prepared when you walk in to be blown away. The breezeway is the perfect place for cocktail hour with its tall wooden beamed ceiling, rich wood walls and barrels. They had several bars set up so our guests were never waiting for a drink and delicious appetizers were served such as chicken & waffles , pork belly, crab cakes, mini hot browns and Nashville hot chicken with watermelon. We also had 2 charcuterie stations and our guests were loving it all. The chapel is perfect with large glass doors that open to announce the bride in the most elegant manner. The custom pearl white and gold chairs are classy and comfortable. The stage has a wooden wall for the backdrop and the area is so beautiful that very few flowers are needed if any. Outside the chapel are the groom's room and bride's room. The groom area is very manly with leather couches and lots of wood, a bar and dark decor. So cozy. The bride's room is my favorite. It is full of mirrors and great lighting for the wedding party to have hair and make up done. The attention to detail in this room is just one of a kind and the pictures are amazing. The large reception area is roomy and easily held our 230ish guests. The tables and linens are all on site and they set everything up except your personal decor. The chef is top notch and our food was phenomenal. We had short ribs and a honey bourbon chicken, cheese grits, mashed Yukon potatoes, the most delicious Brussel sprouts and 3 cheese Mac & cheese. Prior we had a blue cheese lettuce wedge which was nicely done. Our out of town guests were blown away by this hidden gem. So many compliments. We had the most amazing weekend. We rented the mansion behind the venue which was so convenient and beautiful. Our out of town family and friends rented a few other bnb's on site and everyone had the most amazing time. If you are looking for a one of a kind venue, this is it. There is not one thing we would change! Thank you Shea, Carla, Scarlett, Chef and amazing staff at The Legacy for making our daughter's wedding so personal and perfect!
