All three of my kids went to this driving school over the past 5 years. My last one is finishing up now. They really learned a lot.

Overall a very good experience. The staff is friendly and work to be accommodating, which can't be easy given so many different requests, and I really appreciated this. It was worthwhile to do the package with the extra 2 hour lesson to specifically prepare for the driving test; our daughter passed her test the first time out. We will return here with our second daughter when her time comes. read more

Office person didn't contact my intrusctor in time and he never showed up for the lesson. Was supposed to call a week ago and never did had to schedule 2 last minute lessons and instructor wasnt told to go to the first one. Very bad would not recommend. They only care about you if you pay for more than 3 lessons. read more

Do yourself a favor and avoid this business!!! My son used their service some time ago, and we encountered no issues whatsoever. Now it's my little one's turn, and I can't get a hold of them. I left a message, and they called back to schedule a driving lesson, but I found out my little one couldn't make it on the day of the appointment. So, I called right away, really right away, but they didn't answer the call. I didn't want the instructor to show up unnecessarily, so I kept calling to ask if they received my message. I made about 10 calls and left 3 messages, but they only returned my call a day later. However, the person who called back claimed she was on another call and couldn't answer mine. She's been on the phone for 2 days??? Anyway, I made another appointment and waited for the instructor to show up, but no show. I had to call again, and this was DURING BUSINESS HOURS!! But they didn't answer the phone again!! I need to know if the driving teacher will come to our house or not!!!! Nothing... waiting, waiting... Then I called again because they didn't contact me or provide any information about why the teacher didn't show up, and finally, someone answered the phone, trying to make excuses without even saying sorry. Then she just said whatever she wanted to say, and before I could respond, she hung up the phone. That's it! They just lost my business, and now they have this review from me. read more

I purchased a package that included an online course and 6 driving lessons for my daughter. They set up the first two and said to call back or go in to set up the additional lessons when she had completed the first two. Well, you can call back but they do not return phone calls so... months later, we are still trying to reach them to have them fulfill their obligation to us. My recommendation is to go elsewhere for driving lessons. We thought the actual driving instructor was excellent but looks like we'll end up going elsewhere to finish up the rest of her instruction. read more

Why oh why did I choose this school? Their technology is so terrible and they insist you call them (or come in person) to ask basic questions / scheduling, etc. This would be fine if they answered the phone but they don't half the time and ask everyone to be gracious about not hearing back for as long as 72 hours. I should have gone with my gut that their incredibly (and proudly) antiquated approach makes the experience pretty bad. I guess this works for households where parents have time to handle this but in my two working parent household it's not great. read more

Hey Danville Driving School what's up with your racist manager, Stephanie, who refuses to wear a mask and follow any of the Contra Costa Health Department's Covid19 regulations? My daughter had a driving lesson with Stephanie last week. She had her mask in her hand when she got into the car, but Stephanie told her she didn't need to wear a mask. She said numbers were going down and schools would be opening shortly. The following day, I spoke with a woman from a driving school in Walnut Creek. She told me that Contra Costa County requires driving schools to follow very specific Covid19 regulations that include taking a student's temperature before entering the car, instructor wearing gloves, mask wearing by students and instructors, sanitizing the vehicle after each student, and having ventilation in the vehicle. Danville Driving School doesn't follow any of these protocols. Furthermore, due to people like Stephanie's who have such a hard time following basic COVID-19 protocols many businesses in Contra Costa are now forced to close again as cases are on the rise, once again. During the lesson, Stephanie also felt it was appropriate to share her raciest views with my daughter. She told my daughter that she didn't like going to San Ramon because it's filled with people from India and that they were taking over San Ramon. She also said George Floyd really wasn't killed by the police. He died because he was on drugs. When my daughter attempted to explain that Mr. Floyd was choked by the police, Stephanie told her she didn't know the real facts. This is so inappropriate. When my daughter got home she bursted into tears. I hope parents realize that their children may be learning more than just how to drive from Danville Driving School. read more

I would give zero stars!!! They take prepayment quite efficiently but teachers are not very available. Instructors don't keep their appointments. Very disorganized!!!!!!! Kids are busy and need to get their instruction time in before the driving test. Also level of instruction is poor!! Go elsewhere. I'm stuck now but you shouldn't be !!! I booked a in-car driving class through phone. No confirmation mail or text was sent. When I called them for confirmation, the response was not clear, they couldn't confirm my pickup location and I was told that my registration paper was not found. Later, I got a call from them about the class. Looks like dis organized management. read more

After checking out several schools in the area, one of which shows its license as expired in the state database, I decided that Danville Driving School was the most professional on the phone and with their policies. I'd had trouble finding an instructor who was a native-English speaker, but Danville Driving School has several. I wanted to make sure that my son was with an instructor who he could clearly understand--obviously critical during driving lessons! This school does not allow parents in the car during the lesson, which is understandable on one hand, but it would have been nice to have had more guidance as to how I could help my son work on his driving skills. They were very responsive about re-scheduling sessions when we needed to, and they helped us understand the driver's license testing requirements. CON: My son said the instructor talked about random things non-stop during every lesson, and little about actual driving instruction. But this school is still probably among the best in the area. read more

Danville Driving School is such a great place to learn everything you need to be behind the wheel. I am a student who just recently got their permit and I passed with flying colors thanks to the help of Jack and Stephanie! I take my driving lessons themselves with Stephanie and I couldn't ask for a better instructor. She is amazing at keeping you calm whilst in tough situations, and always has great advice. I would highly recommend Danville Driving School for classes while learning the rules of the road, and ask for Stephanie when booking a driving lesson because she is amazing! read more

The worst, most unprofessional and immature staff I've ever dealt with. The manager and main instructor Stephanie rarely teaches anything, and just likes the job so she can get all of the gossip about the high schoolers in town and pass it onto her other students. Acts more like a child than the kids who are supposed to be learning how to drive but instead are just being fed rumors about their peers. I did my drivers ed classes last winter break and I passed my permit test the first try. The classes are fun and engaging. I then did my behind the wheel lessons with Stephanie and she made time for me and I learned a lot. The lessons were very fun. When I went to take my drivers test I passed easily. My experience was not well to say the least. Their staff is extremely incompetent and rude. They don't listen at all or respect our schedule. I especially told them I was busy this week and can't schedule any lessons during the time, but of course they would schedule me for that week. What made it even worse is that didn't even tried to fix it or hear me out, THEY HUNG UP ON ME... TWICE! What kind of business are these people running if they cannot abide to their costumers needs. I found it extremely rude that why hung up me and believe they need to clear out there staff and hire more competent workers. PLEASE SAVE YOUR MONEY AND CHOOSE A DIFFERENT DRIVING SCHOOL. read more

Danville Driving school is the best place to learn how to drive. I was really afraid to drive because it can be scary and you have much responsibility, but when I first took my lesson I felt less nervous and like I was gonna learn the right way how to drive. The instructor I had was Stephanie, and she's awesome! She's very relaxed and calm, and she makes driving so much easier. She talks with you in car which makes atmosphere so much better plus she's really funny too. I would definitely recommend her to anybody who is scared of driving or just in general, plus she is so knowledgeable and wants the best for you. Also during the last lesson she thoroughly went over what I needed to do to pass. And it worked I passed my first time! read more

The driving school itself was great, I passed my driving test the first time with a perfect score. This review is for Stephanie, one of the driving instructors. I had a different instructor my very first lesson but then switched to Stephanie because I had heard from a friend that she was "fun" and "nice." I switched to her and it was fine the first or second time but after the first few lessons she started acting quite rude towards me- I was confused . I later heard from my friend who also drives with Stephanie that Stephanie was angry at me for a comment I made during a lesson saying that Danville is a nice place to live or something similar (Casual conversation while I was driving) She proceeded to talk crap about me to my friend and to who knows how many other students. Absolutely ridiculous. I would take it up with the driving school but I have no proof that this happened. Stephanie is the most immature and unprofessional women I've ever met- apparently driving with teenagers gives her the attitude and mind of a teenager. I would never ever recommend her. ALSO- She gossips about other students which was all very inappropriate and made me feel weird and uncomfortable that a grown women would be doing so - as well as what she could be saying about me. read more
