I had a total of three lessons with A Precision Driving School. Two of them were with Ken, who is an excellent, patient, and professional instructor. If you schedule lessons from this school, I highly recommend requesting Ken, as he truly knows how to guide students, builds your confidence, and treats people with respect. Unfortunately, my experience with Raj (Rajwant Kaur) was extremely disappointing. While constructive feedback is part of learning, her approach was incredibly rude and unprofessional. She crossed a major line by making disrespectful and hurtful comments regarding my parents and my upbringing. Furthermore, she seemed significantly more focused on her vehicle and the school's reputation over actually teaching and guiding students. Her behavior was completely unacceptable, and I do not recommend taking lessons with her. read more

My son had his first driving lesson with instructor Ken. He said he had so much fun learning from instructor Ken. Our appointment was 9am, he came right on time and also dropped him off right back on time at 11am. Now my son just needs to practice driving before we schedule the next driving lesson again. read more

Had a bad experience with them. Very rude and bad communication..would not recommend. My son had 2 instructors and one of them was Ken, who was good but the other one was a lady who was not good. The worst experience was with the person communicating with us..he gave us incomplete information about the lesson and later refused to deliver and acknowledge that he had not informed. read more

Ken is a great instructor for my daughter. He gave excellent pointers and she continues to apply these during her driving practices. One thing that can be improved is the scheduling appointments for the class. I think parents should keep looking and pass over this company . Very slow follow up after money is taken ( and yes they ask for full payment up front ) Your questions will go unanswered for days. Appointments will get broken by company . Documentation needed for your teen to get the license will be incomplete Training was only barely legal limit of acceptable . I will be filing complaint with dmv to have this company removed but hopefully if they still remain they change their ways . My apologies for the mixing up the color of the certificate and thank you for pointing it out. Regardless the color of the certificate, your driving instructor FAILED to issue the certificate to my daughter resulting she can't take the driving exam when we went through the whole process at DMV. Ended up she had to schedule the driving test the second time. Are you going to response to this follow up and said I fabricate the text message image? Your scheduling system sucks because apparently once I canceled the session, the session is used and I cannot schedule any classes back then. Do you see the trail of mess up "I think you are connecting a wrong driver school". It is just so easy to handle customer service and brush your customer away. Super helpful and patient! They teach everything you need to know on the driving test

I have used these folks for two of my kids. Both did an excellent job. Not only did my children pass their driving test on the first try, they had a very enjoyable time while learning how to drive. My daughter said that her female instructor Raj (spelling?) is super fun and makes the whole experience very enjoyable. Their prices are good, too. And communication with them is simple--they are very responsive and helpful when schedule changes arise--we needed to move some things around and they were quick to respond and address the issue. Great customer service is important to me. They do an excellent job in that regard as well as providing excellent training behind the wheel. read more

The website is poorly designed, dose not provide with availability ahead of time. Only tells you the available times after you pay. Dose not offer a refund option on the website. The phone number dose not work, you can only text or email. The customer service is rude and tries their best to not give you a refund by wasting your time. Would not recommend taking classes here. However, I'm just realizing I never wrote a review for this place, it slipped my mind. I took classes with Raj, and I'm wholeheartedly convinced that's the reason I passed my driving test on the first try, got my lisence a month after I turned 16, and still use the skills I learned daily. I'm 19 now. The patience, the calm demeanor, it all made a huge difference compared to my parent (who I don't have a good relationship with) screaming at me whenever I touched the wheel. Raj built my confidence, and I'm grateful. I've driven in both San Francisco and New York City, in the Bay Area and several states on the East Coast, took road trips, and I've been able to drive a wide variety of cars (sedan, truck, SUV, u-haul van, Penske truck, you name it). No accident history. The only infraction I have is a speeding ticket (which, was very much my fault and I learned my lesson). Stay away from this driving school! This driving school is owned by a couple who are also the driving coaches. I purchased a package of 10 hour training for my daughter end of last year. She used 6 hours and saved the last 4 hours before the driving test. The school suddenly said no coaches were available for a month, as one coach quit and the owners were traveling out of country, right before my daughter's last two lessons. They cancelled the lessons. I had to sign up with another driving school few days before her test. My daughter passed the test. A Precision Driving School rejected to refund for the unused hours. I filed a complaint with Department of Consumer Affair and they referred me to Contra Costa County Office and BBB. I'm planning to pursue. Also, the assistant over there, named Britney, was very rude with attitude when I requested a refund and to talk to the owner. I don't think she even cares to pass my messages. read more

I have booked my daughter's lesson with a precision driving school. I don't recommend this to anyone for so many reasons. first of all, no one ever answers the phone call, or calls you back when you leave voicemail. we have left voice mail and text and did not get any response back. Secondly, appointments are hard to get, we have to postpone diving test because we can not book my daughter's last lesson (I am willing to let her miss the school and still first available slot is more than 30 days away) and for past two lessons we had two different instructors, one was great but the other one did not know how to give instructions, instead of giving constructive criticism, and encouraging student, all she was doing was pointing out what student was doing wrong. I cannot believe all the rave reviews I called them last night and asked to speak to someone the next day. The message is leave a text or email. The person's first response is nothing until 7/27 . I can understand this is summer holiday. This morning I called the number provided again the guy says we have nothing until 7/27 maybe the 7/28 but this time 3 times. Now I am thinking he does not want my business. Then I ask if he is driving and talking he says I actually don't work at the office?! I went on to say I have more questions he refers me to the website and says fill out the paperwork and you can book but it is first come first you may or may not get it as others book! Honestly, I couldn't have gotten my driver license without these lessons from this driving school! I had five lessons with them - four with Ken and one with Raj - and two rental days for my driving tests (I failed the first time, but fortunately I passed the second time!). The driving instructor Ken was really helpful and supporting in all the lessons I had with him, including the days of my driving test. Every lesson I had with him, my driving had gotten better! And the one lesson with Raj was really good too! She was very caring and taught me new techniques that actually helped my driving become easier! Although these lessons are beneficial to take, it's also important to also practice on your own with your parent outside of lessons. I find that really helpful too (that's how I passed the second driving test with only 3 minor errors!). I would definitely recommend A Precision Driving School! Not only the prices for their lessons are reasonably good, but also these lessons really do help get a good start in learning how to drive. I passed my behind the wheel test today and got my license. I cannot emphasize enough how much my lesson with this school helped me. This was my second attempt. I took classes from another place for my first attempt. They did not prepare me for the test the way Aprecision school did. They gave me valuable feedback at every step and gave me many tips on how to learn correct driving practices. The instructor was very friendly, patient and knowledgeable. I am so glad I chose them. I will be taking more classes to improve my freeway driving. read more

UPDATE: I received a call from the supervisor (Raj ?) offering me an appointment for next weekend. I was pleased for a moment. Then she said, "If I give you this appointment, will you take down the bad review from Yelp!?" I told her, "I will not. I think buyers need know that there's a 6 week wait for classes." She then told me that it is my fault, not hers. I should have called to check availability before I paid online. I explained to her that, that was exactly why the review needs to stay up. Other people need to know before they buy. She then began to yell at me about putting a bad review about her business when it is my fault for not calling. I let her know that I would be adding that their "customer service sucks" before hanging up on her. With no refunds, I think they are holding my $300 for ransom until I remove the review. I had first bought the wrong driving classes for my daughter (My fault i didnt read the entire package list) My daughter did the class after the class i realized the mistake and i went back in to get correct lessons for her. They were totally book so i reached out via text and they explained they were full but they would look to see if they could squeeze her in for any lessons. They did get her in for the three classes and she did two of them and they said the first lesson which i got the wrong one counted towards her hours. I reached out and asked about refund which they were very quickly to respond and say they were refunding the amount for the class. first lesson, i had darryl & he was fun and eased me into driving for the first time. by the time i booked my second lesson, i found out that he'd been fired which was confusing for me. either way, my second lesson i had raj, who was actually super helpful and taught me a lot more than i had learned in my first lesson. my third lesson, i had a man (whose name i don't remember -- sorry!) and he asked me which dmv i had booked my driving test at & we drove down and practiced the route that i later actually did take during my test. i passed my test first time around, so i can't complain much. thanks for helping me get my license! read more

I have not used this company but am strictly reviewing for the crazy driving I witnessed. My husband and I were driving on Isabel in Livermore and this 2004'ish navy blue Toyota Corolla was tailgating my husband. Then he passes us and we see he is a DRIVING INSTRUCTOR! He was speeding and tailgating like crazy. Thankfully he didn't have a student with him. We were behind him all the way through my neighborhood. That's where I draw the line. This guy was going 40 in a residential...we know because that was the speed my husband had to do to catch up to him and get the name and number of the company. I call the office and the lady who answered didn't seem to care. Fair warning to parents looking to send their kids to this school. Horrible driver! I just sent my son to divers school for his Permit and thank God I didn't use this company! read more

Do not use this driving school. I was in need of lessons and I called once left my name and phone number to be contacted back. I was called back the next day while away from my phone. Once I saw this immediately I called back no one answered. I called 2 times the next day and repeated with no response after leaving my name till today. That was 8 days ago. Today I finally got to talk to someone, and they were less than polite when in conversation. They let me know that the next available appointment was a bit too late for my taste seeing that I'm out of town in a month or so. So I asked for a refund because there had been little to no communication from the side of the school. I was given about 2/3 of my money back due to a deposit fee(which makes no sense because I hadn't even scheduled an appointment yet). Overall a waste of time and a pretty mediocre experience. My Dad(62) took driving lessons from Ken. He had driven in India all his life. But was a bit hesitant to drive here in US. After taking 10 hours of lessons with Ken, he felt confident and cleared his driving test at DMV in the first go. Ken was patient with him and made sure to point out his slightest mistakes so he could be a better driver and paid more attention to things that could be marked as negative, in the test. I don't recommend this driving School at all. The female instructor took my cousin out and it was a complete nightmare for him. He felt she wasn't patient and was expecting him to know exactly what to do his first time driving, he said she was very frustrated and agitated when he made simple mistakes, which made it hard for him to focus and really get a good first lesson. read more

Great driving school - would highly recommend it! I'm in my thirties, have just moved to SF from London and had never had a driver's license before. Ken was my driving instructor - he was very patient, calm and supportive. Gave me lots of good practical advice on being a safe driver, and prepared me well for the test - glad to say I passed first time with only 2 errors! Also, I had Daryl for my first lesson as Ken couldn't make it - Daryl was friendly and very encouraging, another safe pair of hands to learn from. The driving instruction and instructor for 6 hour driving school for my daughter was fine. However, one of the lady staff sent me and email twice, by mistake I guess. They said " Dad is Very Rude" be Careful! I don't even know what she was talking about. I had nothing to be rude about. I sent her an email back after the 2nd time she made the comment. I told her that I didn't appreciate being sent these emails about my behavior and it was disrespectful and not truthful. I am a paying customer and was taken aback! She never called or replied back apologizing. All I can say is the staff really doesn't have their act together and I would look else where for a driving school. I would rate them a 1 but the driving instruction is what counts and my daughter did ok I guess. As I never heard back from the instructor as to any evaluation of my daughter's driving abilities for the last 4 hours, even though they told me they would give me a verbal update.
