Just got home from a "Let it Go - Stress Relief" massage with Melissa, and I'm already scanning my personal calendar to go again. I was able to get a very last minute massage (booked last night, and she confirmed last night). I start work tomorrow and thought this would be a great way to enjoy my last day of freedom. Melissa used a combination of traditional massage, Thai and pressure points/ shiatsu to completely relieve all my aches and pains. She had a real understanding of anatomy and function. Melissa is beyond wonderful. I now know why she has so many 5-star ratings. I had found her on Yelp and called last Friday hoping the morning appointment I saw open on her calendar the day before was still open. Unfortunately, it wasn't. She offered to phone me if she had a cancellation the next day, but I was only in that area that Friday and wouldn't be back the next day. I hung up disappointed, but about half an hour later, she phoned me back asking if I could come at 1. I happily accepted and puttered around downtown for a while until it was time to go in. It wasn't until after we hung up that I realized she's supposed to close shop at 1! When I arrived for my first appointment with the lovely Melissa, I asked her about that. Her response? "I could just tell in your voice that you really needed a massage today." Wow! That was impressive, considerate, and generous of her to rearrange her day to fit me in! I originally wanted a raindrop therapy session (my first), but after explaining to her that I am trying to conceive, we decided to wait on the raindrop therapy (some of the essential oils in raindrop are not advised for pregnant women). Instead, she gave me an amazing relaxing massage (relaxation = better chance of conception!) and incorporated other oils into a Raindrop-Swedish hybrid massage. She found my usual tense spots, tense spots I didn't know I had, and applied her knowledge of vitaflex points for fertility and to clear some congestion I was having. She also went over on time at no extra charge because she felt I needed it! I felt so at ease with her, and after just one session with her, I feel like she already knew what I needed without saying much.
