I highly recommend Dr. Gregory Tom and his team at Danville Optometry. From my very first visit, I was impressed by the professionalism and friendliness of the staff, including Isabel and Stacey. They are efficient and truly know what they're doing, always ready to assist with any questions or issues I've had...and I've had many questions. I originally came in with extremely dry eyes and a corneal issue, which had been a long struggle for me. Dr. Tom conducted a comprehensive eye exam that was thorough and informative including a scan of my meibomian glands. He took the time to listen to my concerns and didn't rush me out. What truly sets Dr. Tom apart is his innovative approach to treating dry eyes. Instead of just prescribing hot compresses and eye drops and doxycycline like many other optometrists, he offered IPL and radio frequency treatments. These treatments have been game changers for me! I've seen a remarkable reduction in my eye pain and have cut down my use of lubricating drops by about 75%. Before, I was using them several times an hour; now, my eyes feel so much better and I'm saving money on eye drops. Dr. Tom's dedication to finding effective solutions is evident, and he genuinely cares about his patients. I am so glad I invested in this treatment because you cannot put a price on your vision. My quality of life has significantly improved since starting treatment, and I truly believe it was worth every penny. I have been under Dr. Tom's care for about two months now, and I'm so grateful for the difference he has made. If you're struggling with dry eyes, I highly recommend visiting Dr. Tom. I feel strongly that if you do get a second opinion, be absolutely sure you are seeing another dry eye specialist. There are only a few in Northern CA. Not all optometrists understand how to treat dry eye, nor do they all do meibography scans,so be sure you are comparing apples to apples. Where do I begin?? Let me go chronologically. 1- I got misdiagnosed by Dr. Tom. He said I had an eyelid infection and dry eye, when in fact I was suffering from a foreign object in my eye, which I found out when I got a 2nd opinion after two weeks of struggling with my itching, burning eye that wasn't getting better with Tom's treatment. He performed several tests, so I'm unsure how he couldn't see the piece of plastic in my eye, which could have been easily removed there and then. It took all of 5 minutes to get it removed when I went to the ophthalmologist at Kaiser two weeks later. 2- He made me buy a whole lot of products worth $100 at least for a problem I did not even have in the first place- dry eye! 3- He convinced me to book an appointment for some dry eye treatment that wasn't going to be covered by my insurance. My better sense prevailed, and I cancelled the appointment. 4- I went for my medical issue with my burning eye (which his office told me he could help me with), and ended up with him checking my eyesight and getting me to change my glasses, which I did not mind then. To save on cost (this wasn't an expense I was anticipating when I booked my initial appointment with him), I offered my spectacle frames. 5- His lab broke my frames, and they were not going to take responsibility for it. 6- It's been a month now, and I still haven't got my glasses back, although Tom and company already charged me for lenses worth more than $300 despite insurance coverage. I did give them a second frame, by the way. 7- They seem to be so lax and careless. I have had to be the one to constantly call and follow up to figure out the status of my glasses. So, it's been a month without my glasses, which is hard and disconcerting, AND they've charged me for a service that has not been delivered yet, let alone that the service is subpar. i DO NOT recommend Danville Optometric group- please save yourself your time, money, and peace of mind. read more

When Dr. Tom got his new machines which he dubbed "R2-D2" - I thought Columbus took a chance, why not me. I have dry eyes and a bit of eczema on the lash line. Also I have a vein on the left side close to my eye that happened when I had cataract surgery that I thought I had to live with forever. Thanks to his great diligence and super machine my dry eyes are gone and the rash too and a miracle the vein is gone too! We are now going to work on the dry spot close to the eyes on the right side of my face which I'm positive he will make perfect. I highly recommend these procedures, they worked for me. read more

Paid $330, waited 6 weeks! First frame came with a defect, the frame was bent in multiple places and had dents and it scratched my nose. Then I waited and waited for the replacement, called them several times, been in their place in person. They said it's another week then another week, manager is never there, they never called back. Denied full refund, a discount or even an apology when I picked them up. What is going on here? The final glasses are decent - but the experience? Awful. Got a whole years supply of contacts ! Wow what a difference it is instead of ordering a box a time . I'm a type of guy that orders one box then run out and order more lol. But after hearing about the rebate and what the benefits were I pulled the trigger and got the years supply. I'm really glad Ashlee from the front desk guided me through the whole process. Pros: Staff is SUPER delightful and very helpful, Dr. Tom is knowledgeable and takes great care to make sure I have all the info needed for any eye issues I might have. The office is very clean and up to date. The tech in this office is pretty cool as well. I love shopping for my glasses here for all the new designer glasses they provide. Ready to try something cheaper and less invasive than botox and filler? Dr Tom has a machine called trilift by Lumenis that has eliminated my marionette lines, and now we are working on my smile lines. Once everything is established, ongoing maintenance is less frequent and cheaper than botox and filler. And the cherry on top is that is non-invasive, so no more needles, stinging pain, or swelling. Dr. Tom is my go to eye health physician. Comfortable environment and top notch staff. My optician Liz helped me with multiple frames this past year. I had requested as durable a frame as possible, tighter fit on the head, and wrapped more securely around the ears. Thanks for the great looking frames. Will be testing them out at the next concert!
