Riverside finally has a great local restaurant. Second time here, but for dinner this time. Dinner is busier for this swanky place. Our server Kaylee was amazing and on top of all our needs. She had great suggestions for appetizers as meals. We started with crab cakes and Cajun shrimp. They weee amazing as expected. The shrimp came with the most amazing warm flat bread triangles to dip in the Cajun cream sauce. For dinner the Chipotle chicken pasta (pictured) was rich with a bright finish and a spicy flavor without the heat. The Steak Picado was off the chart. The steak was almost fork tender with vegetables cooked enough but to so much that it took away their crispness. The rich sauce brought it all together to perfection. Our third dish was the mushroom steak. As with the first two entrees it was amazing. Large cut mushrooms sautéed to perfection partnered with a wonderful brown sauce that covered the tender skirt steak. The main meal paired with some premium whiskey and a glass of red wine for the lady tied it all together. We finished our culinary journey with the chocolate cake drizzled in a raspberry sauce (pictured). My best description is "Wow"! This was a tall layered chocolate cake with a dark, rich chocolate ganache between each layer reminiscent of the old Claim Jumper cake. It was paired up with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream, fresh strawberry's, blueberries, and whip cream. The best part about this restaurant is the friendly, local environment with the servers tending to everything and the friendliest manager you'll ever meet, greeting guests as he makes drinks and buses tables. My husband and I came to try out Dapper for date night this week and we were sadly disappointed by our experience there. It started great, our reservation was honored, we were seated immediately, our waitress greeted us within minutes, our waters were filled quickly thereafter, our food came out quickly, but after that, the service went downhill. Our waters were only filled once (at the beginning of our reservation), our waitress checked in multiple times on surrounding tables except ours, we waited nearly 45 minutes before we could grab her attention to ask for the check. Had we not grabbed her attention, I think she would have just continued on. It was hard not to think the service was better for parties that purchased more expensive meals and cocktails. We booked an early reservation for New Year's Eve dinner so I could take my parents. Our first visit to this restaurant, and we can't wait to return! The food, atmosphere, cocktails and service were all terrific. Dad and I had side Caesar salads to start - these were quite tasty, perfectly dressed. For me, the appetizer of crab cakes with jalapeño aioli appetizer made a filling entree with two good size cakes. Poblano Soup was just spicy enough for my Dad, and delicious; enough for an entree. Mom chose the traditional Fettucine Alfredo and opted not to add protein. She said it was one of the best sauces she's had. We shared wine at dinner. Nice selection. I tried one of the holiday cocktails drinks - wonderful! For dessert, they had butter cake and fresh brewed coffee. It was a lovely dinner, and we look forward to trying other dishes. read more

Decided to try this new spot without any real expectations. I was ignored for a bit which is not a great start. But eventually a bartender noticed I hadn't been helped and greeted me and took very good care of me. I had some watermelon sugar drink she recommend that was delightful on a hot day. To eat I enjoyed the hanger steak I def recommend it! The bartender Christy was funny and super cool. Totally made up for the weird beginning and Although I don't normally sit at bar tops I'll be sure to sit at this one. The ambiance was nice and chill. read more

A great new restaurant has opened in downtown Riverside. After a fourth trip we have deemed it as the top restaurant in Riverside. Great food, atmosphere and outstanding service, with an indoor and a very nice outdoor dining area. Dapper also has a very good wine and cocktail selection. We definitely will return and tell others. We love this place. Angel is the best manager and the servers are excellent. They have fabulous food and the quantity is amazing. But we most likely will never go back. It is just soooooo loud. It destroys everything. They have the worst music. It is just pounds on your head and destroys the experience. The restaurant itself is very Orange County with high ceilings so the sound is very very loud anyway and then you add that pounding music over and over, you just cannot talk to anyone you are with. We go back because of Angel and Michael and Jordan the bartenders. But we just cannot enjoy ourselves with the horrendous music. We wish them well. read more

Ate here about a month ago. Won't be back. First impression; wow what a great place. We ordered the blackened tuna appetizer, which was great, a Diet Pepsi and a manhattan. Our mains were the linguine pescatore and the pork chop with baked potato. The linguine dish had great flavor and if we were to dine there again I would reorder it. The pork chop was horrible. Over cooked. Extremely dry. Our server who was also the bartender, offered to take it back but said that it would be prepared in the same fashion, well done, because it's pork. She offered to remove the food and have my wife order a new dish, which she did. It was great to eat alone as my wife watched. Her new dish was chicken piccata. It was nothing to write home about. If you're looking for a bland dish, this is for you. I waited for a refill on my Diet Pepsi with lemon. It finally arrived, without lemon. After that, I checked out. Well, not really because it took forever to get boxes for the food my wife didn't eat as it arrived so late into my meal. Unsolicited, the manager came to our table and I confirmed he was indeed the manager and he asked about our experience and we were honest, just as in this review. He said sorry and hoped that they could improve on our next visit. He then took my card to pay my bill. Yes, we did pay full price. As a side note, our server/bartender filled several positions and I told him needed to get her some help. It's a beautiful spot with a great menu on paper however, if the owners don't know there is a problem they can't fix it. I'd rather see this place succeed than fail. Our mailman (young female) suggested this lounge. We two aging ladies drove up to find a large airy building nicely designed for major dining, parties and enjoyment. The menu offerings were broad, inviting and, when delivered, impressive to view. We both selected pescatore (fisherman) meals. The plates of food were massive in size. Take-home boxes gave us plenty to enjoy another day. Isaac, our young waiter, was well dressed, well trained in true service, and knew the menu's offerings. I added myself to their online waitlist. When I got there I was number 2 on the list. However, upon checking in, I was told that it was an hour wait. When I asked what the point of the waitlist is, the hostess told me they have no control over the online waitlist. Ummm, well then who does? Why even have that as an option? I went here earlier today at 3:30-3:45pm I was greeted by the hostess and servers which were very nice and welcoming. I was seated fast without a reservation and was sat by the bar and kitchen inside a booth, I honestly loved the atmosphere here, unfortunately there was gentlemen and a women fighting behind me and my girlfriend, and it seemed to be a manger due to his white shirt and a women with glasses they were just going at it with each other over "tips". Women with glasses was super loud and yelling. Which was unprofessional and made there team members uncomfortable due to there faces. Bartender there had to tell them to move and "argue" somewhere else. Management seemed poor. read more
