This place is a very popular spot and I can can see why. From the minute you open the door, your hit with the most amazing smell of food and greeted with friendly staff. We were told it would be a 10-20 minute wait, it ended up being 8 min before we were seated. Tables were clean and as we walked past others eating, my game plan kept changing. Every table had a dish I knew I needed to try. We were a party of 4, and I hoped all of us ordered something different so I could grab a taste. Ended up with Chlliquilles, verde, with a rare ribeye. It came with choice of house potatoes or hash browns , and beans. I did not expect to much for my steak, it's a breakfast cafe, they might get it close like a med, but I never get my rare. I WAS WRONG... IT WAS PERFECT!!! It had a char, like it was cooked over fire, it was so tender and juicy, and as a nice size cut. It was the most amazing steak I have had in a long time, and way better than even Flemings (they can't get their steaks right anymore). The chips tasted homemade and their chili verde sauce had pieces of meat in it (special little surprises in it). I do wish the sauce had a little more seasoning nd a kick, but they mixed it perfectly where my chips were still crispy, I still wanted more, and they gave it to me. Beans were ok, and the hash browns could have been served a hotter. Eggs were cooked perfectly so my over easy still had runny yolk, that could blend into my sauce. Husband had waffles extra crispy, and they were lightly crispy but very flavorful. He also had the chicken fried steak. The meat was tender and had a good crisp. It was seasoned very well. The gravy had solidified, so that was a little disappointing. The flavor again, could have had a little more kick, but overall he enjoyed it and would get it again. Our friends had the menudo, which he said was outstanding. The bowl is large, so get it to share if your also ordering food. It had a great kick! And the tripe, was tender and cooked to perfection. They also had the Chilliquilles verde and enjoyed it. Steaks cooked to perfection as well. This is a good brunch/lunch spot. The whole place is clean and well decorated. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. I'm a stickler for service due to my years in the business and they do an excellent job! We've tried a few different menu items and have no complaints for the most part. This last time, the food came out really quickly, which was nice, but some ingredients in the burrito were all bit undercooked and the side of potatoes was half raw/half burned, whichwas interesting. Also the mimosa was a little sour, so either the OJ was bad or the champagne was too warm. Those are the only reasons for the 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, it's a great place to try! read more

My menudo craving has been satisfied! We came to Rodeo Cafe on Sunday morning, specifically because I wanted menudo and the photos here looked good. Five us arrived around 8 am and were seated quickly. Service was good the entire time we were there with frequent checks on our coffee refills. Everyone liked their food: chicken fried steak with gravy and scrambled eggs, country platter with biscuits and gravy and eggs and sausage, a strawberry waffle combo and strawberry French toast combo - although that daughter meant to get a waffle not French toast. It was good though. The waffle was large and fluffy, Belgian style. The rodeo potatoes were especially good. One of my girls didn't care for the coffee but I thought it was fine. My husband's breakfast came with a pancake and I also liked that. I almost knocked off a star for the country music that played the whole time. Country music literally hurts my ears. Our family reserved an area before we came for a visit. We looked for a local spot because we were going to be at the Veteran's Memorial Cemetery. Coffee was meh, kind of watery for my liking (others might enjoy it! so i guess you would have to try it yourself) Food was pretty great. I ordered their Chili Rojo Omelette and my husband ordered the pancakes, both of us enjoyed our plates. It's not often i can finish a big plate and today i did! A friend of our ordered their chilequilles and they looked so good!! The service was quick for as big as our party was (30 of us) they were attentive to the tables and friendly. The one star is for the customer service not the food. The food is great. My issue is with a specific server on 2 separate occasions. She never smiles and she's not very personable. My first experience with her began with me ordering the rodeo meal which comes with a New York steak. Well, I received my food and it arrived with a ribeye. I informed her I ordered a New York and she insisted it was a New York. She took my plate to the back to supposedly ask her manager and they confirmed it was a New York. I eat steaks all day. I get ribeyes at Texas Roadhouse. This was a wide, flat, fatty ribeye. I let it go and ate it anyways. Fast forward to today, and just my luck. I get the grumpy girl again. Still not very polite. I've tried lunch carry out three times ordering different menu items. ALL were awful, roast beef dip was very dry and tough. Turkey melt was lunch meat with uncooked bacon and green tomatoes. This place was so good!! I called the Norco location and wanted to know if they serve bloody Mary's the gal that answered said not at this location but she named Temecula, and Riverside. Since we were headed to Riverside we decided to go have breakfast at Rodeo Cafe in Riverside. Absolutely delightful... everything from the atmosphere... service .... Food.... At first everything was okay but the salad we got had tomatoes with mold on all of them, they apologized, changed it and didn't charge us for it but it's still bad. Rodeo staff is always very friendly. They have a pretty good breakfast election. Our recommendation would be the ribeye.

Staff wasn't very attentive despite the slow hour, which was disappointing. I ordered the Rodeo Meal, which comes with steak, eggs, potatoes, and a side of pancakes (which is interchangeable). The portion was definitely filling, but the overall taste was pretty average. For the price--about $37 after tax and a drink (before tip)--it just didn't feel worth it. The only reason this wasn't a higher rating is the music - it was 8am and it was blasting! It was busy but not packed, the staff was super friendly from the second you walk in and everything was clean, nothing was sticky (usually there's syrup somewhere on the table from a breakfast place ). The menu had lots of good choices but I opted for the huevos rancheros and my wife got the chile verde omelette. The chile verde was delicious, tender and not too spicy. Each plate came with a toreado on the side, mine was super spicy hers was not. The food came out within 10 minutes of ordering and my eggs were cooked perfectly. No complaints.
