Wonderful experience! The service was awesome, the food was great, and the parking was convenient. We were given a free slice of carroti cake for my loved one's birthday. For 4 people to eat very well, it totaled to $150. Thank you, Darbari Persian Grill!

Good food and great service. It was a slow night, which made the place feel calm and peaceful. I visited during dinner, and the dim lighting made the atmosphere more relaxing. I really enjoyed my time here.

I've loved each and every visit here and the heart grows fonder with all fulfilling bites. The best and worst thing about Darbari is finding the proper entrance to their private parking lot- which is tiny but never seems to be full and always seem to have a table. This is an aged establishment with consistent quality and service. Especially their tahdig, probably the most unhealthy thing we can order but still way healthier and crunchier than anything fried in a grease basket.

Great hole in the wall for legit Mediterranean food. One of our go to spots in the area. We ordered the combo koobideh and Cornish hen. The koobideh was ok, not bad. But the Cornish hen was simply out of this world. Free bread is a nice touch. Their special rices are also amazing. Decent amount of parking but traffic can be a pain since it's near a big intersection that eventually leads to the beach. Service was good but when we first came there was only one server servicing the main floor. Eventually another server came and service was smoother. Would definitely keep coming back!

I love Darbari!! They have the BEST Persian kabobs in town and the best kabobs in general. I usually get it Togo and they are fast and on it. The food is always consistently good! Since my best friend is Persian, I've eaten a lot of Persian food in my time - Darbari is amazing! Next time I need to get the Tahdig with Gheimeh. Give them a try!

I ordered the boneless chicken platter with chicken koobideh. Half salad half rice. The chicken was very flavorful and seasoned. Grilled to perfection. The rice was fluffy and moist. Definitely great food. I just had the order to go.

We found this place by chance while we were on our way to the airport. It was a small restaurant and the Persian grill caught my eye! There was free parking lot in the back of the restaurant super convenient. We walked inside and was greeted so kindly immediately. The waitress was so sweet. Super friendly! They had a huge variety on their menu. We decided to get the beef to share and thank god we did because it was a huge plate! It was so flavorful! The rice was steaming and such smooth taste. The beef had so much taste I can't even describe. It was that good. They have complimentary bread with butter too! The food came out so quick too! The place is clean and quite. Definitely deserves more attention here !!

We were craving some mediterranean Food and found Darbari on Yelp as a highly rated restaurant. Though bit of a drive, we went for it. Its a small , cute little place with not a lot of seating but makes for a nice cozy spot. They have their own parking at the back so no need to park on the street. Food here is great and service is on the money. We tried their mixed kebab skewers and chicken kebabs and both were awesome.

Search was on for Persian food like we used to get in Pasadena. Tried Darbari for takeout, Chicken Barg and Filet Kabob with Adas Polo and a Greek Salad. Friendly service, food was brought to our car parked behind. While the meats were perfectly seasoned, both were dry. The adas polo was quite good, but I prefer my own made at home with plenty of fresh medjool dates, Darbari's few dates were dry like a preserved food item. The Greek salad is nowhere near the level of My Greek Kitchen a few blocks away. The items were enough for the two of us - for two night's meals, but we considered it to be on the expensive side.

Honestly, I don't know why I haven't been here before but I suppose it's better now than never? I absolutely love Persian food, it's one of my favorites, aside from KBBQ and sushi. There's a tiny parking lot in the back or you can park on the street where Mother's is located and it's just a short distance away. There is indoor and outdoor dining with ample space. The service was awesome. The water was getting filled right away, I didn't have to ask for anything, and the food came out in a timely manner. Can I have a gallon of the Ash Joe soup? Ash is one of my favorite soups and I've gone to quite a few places for it but this one has the best one, hands down. I ordered the chicken shish kabob with the lubia polo and the chicken and veggies were great. They give generous portions of the rice as well. My friend ordered the vegetarian fesenjon. I didn't try his food because I was so busy eating mine but he said his was good. Next time, I'd love to try their zereshk polo, white fish kabob, filet mignon kabob.

Meet up with a good friend over lunch , my friend and her boyfriend who is Persian. This was my first time having Persian food and let me tell you, my taste buds were going crazy!! All the different flavors were amazing. I have to say Persian food is interesting and good experience. Super nice authentic Persian Resturant , food is great but the best thing about it is the owner attitude who serves us him self with a big smile . Food is fresh and tasty , atmosphere is nice and simply and the prices are reasonable. If you're seeking an authentic taste of Persian hospitality and culinary mastery, look no further than Darbari Persian Grill. It's an experience you won't soon forget. 4.5 star .

A personal favorite spot in Costa Mesa! Pros: Highly recommend this establishment for catering or food delivery. We hosted a meeting for 30 and were extremely pleased with the catering platters delivered to us. Highly recommend both koobideh options as well as their three stew combo! Extremely fresh ingredients and made to order. Very generous portions for take out - we have also ordered from them via door dash as well. Look no further if you are craving Persian food and are in the vicinity of Costa Mesa! Highly recommend. A+ Will be back soon!

It's a hidden gem located off the 55 freeway on the same side of the street as Mothers Market. Parking available in the back but limited. If you're getting food to go, definitely call ahead! The food is made to order. I had the boneless chicken and beef koobideh while Stephen had the Lubia Polo with a beef koobideh. It took about 20 minutes for the food because a larger group was ahead of us. While waiting we got a basket of lavash and butter. The portion was generous but less rice than most places. Everything was delicious but my boneless chicken was a wee dry or overcooked. Overall a solid 4 stars experience

Kashk should be well incorporated into the Ash and shouldn't appear lumpy or separated

We ordered an order of dolmeh to start. For main course we ordered Darya salad, and koobideh kabob plates. The dolmeh were warm and delicious, the salad was big enough for three of us to share and was very good. I especially liked the chunks of sliced dates in the salad. The koobideh meat came out hot, was well seasoned and also very tasty! The plate came with two kabobs and a side of basmati rice! The portion was so large I could only eat one of the kabobs. Had the second one the next day for lunch!! Score!!! The only thing I wish was that they had something spicy to add to the dish, but no luck on that! Sorry no pics!!

The restaurant has a really nice atmosphere elegant without feeling stuffy. The food was incredible. Everything came out fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The kebabs were perfectly cooked, the rice was fluffy, and the tahdig was hands down one of my favorite parts of the meal. You can tell they take pride in the quality of their food. The service really made the experience even better. Our server was attentive, checked in on us at the right times, and made us feel well taken care of without hovering. This was easily one of the best Persian meals I've had in Orange County. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending Darya to my friends and family.

A lot of people I trust have raved about it, and I'm glad I gave it a shot. Our server, Leyla, was great. She took orders for 6 people entirely from memory without a single mistake, all while staying kind, attentive, and composed during a busy service. The food was excellent. The tahdig was crispy, and the stews were rich and homemade, easily some of the best I've had. The koobideh kabob was flavorful and cooked very well, and the chicken barg was equally good. For dessert, the faloodeh had a good balance of rose water, and the Persian ice cream was just as good. I really enjoyed everything about this place and will absolutely be back.

This is my second time coming to this restaurant. The first time, the service and quality of the…read morePersian food were not impressive, but their outdoor seating is nice, so we decided to give it another shot. Unfortunately, it was a mistake. Despite a sign saying 'Wait to be seated,' there was no hostess present. After 5 minutes of waiting, a busboy who didn't speak English attempted to seat us without welcoming us. He barely communicated that no seats were available outside, and when I asked what the wait time was, he could not answer. I found the manager, a Persian lady in her 50s, and asked if she could tell me when an outside table would be available. In a surprisingly snarky tone, she snapped in Farsi, 'You're asking me for the impossible, how do I know how long it's going to take for them to be done? Do *you* know how long it's going to take for them to be done?' I was shocked. Obviously, the answer to a question like this is a standard 15 to 25 minutes of wait time, but unfortunately, she chose a much harder and completely unnecessary response pattern. I told her that this is no way to speak with a customer and started to walk away, choosing to take our business to Caspian Restaurant instead. Unbelievably, she then yelled after me, 'Excuse me, I asked you a question, why are you walking away?' to which, of course, I did not respond. I feel everybody should know about this because a restaurant in such an expensive location needs customer service as its foundation to get repeat clients. It's very unfortunate that this happens to restaurants where the owners are silent and hire the wrong managers--managers who can't handle stress well, or who feel their outdated customer support still holds up in 2026. Unless they change their management style and make a visible change, I would strongly discourage anyone from needing to experience the same.

I have to preface my review by saying that my father is a Moroccan Amazigh (aka Morocco's version…read moreof Native Americans in the US). Naturally Moroccan food is something I grew up with, a comfort food, and something I am a bit critical of. I've dined at many Moroccan restaurants domestically and abroad. I've left pretty much all of those restaurants feeling that the food was average. Today Casablanca became the exception. My sister booked a reservation for Mother's Day and I was looking forward to a Moroccan meal at a restaurant I hadn't heard about. My expectations weren't high due to my prior experiences and Casablanca quickly surpassed that bar and every meal exceed my highest of expectations. We ordered bastilla with chicken and almonds, a honey lamb tangine, lemon chicken tangine (one of my favorite meals), couscous with a mix of skewers, lamb sausage couscous, sea bass, Baklava, crème brulee, stuffed dates, and ice cream. It's often the attention to detail in the simplest components that typically make something special. From the texture of the couscous to the lemon chicken sauce and how the green olives absorbed the flavor was perfect. Bastilla is a very tough dish for me to like due to me preferring savory over sweet. Finding the balance of the flavors is difficult and often what is missed. Today was the first time I went back for more bastilla outside of when my aunts cooked it. The lemon chicken was incredibly flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly. the Royal Couscous had various skews that were all delicious and tasted how you'd expect it to when the Moroccan aunties are getting down in the kitchen. I'm not a big lamb guy, but the lamb here wasn't gamey and fell off of the bone. The rest of the meals and desserts were equally delicious. The owner is an Algerian Amazigh and the staff was Moroccan and French. It is obvious they have a passion for what they do and truly care about their clients. My father speaks Tamazight, Arabic, and French. So he was able to speak to all the staff in their native language. The love and care they showed was wonderful and I'm sure they show this same warmth to all of their clients. I love out of a suitcase for work and get to try food in countless places. LA can spoil you, but it's often the holes in the wall that surprise you and not the trendy or more formal restaurants. Casablanca was an exception to the rule. It just became one of my favorite restaurants in SoCal. Thank you to the owner, friendly staff, and chef for making it even more special for my mom on Mother's Day. P.s. my mother is a Chamorro that has cooked Moroccan food for the last 40 years and is overly critical and as mentioned before my father is Moroccan. Both her and my father left the evening singing their praises and had some left overs when we got home. Sorry this was so long, thanks for coming to my ted talk. TLDR I'm Moroccan went with my Moroccan dad and we both think it's the best Moroccan restaurant we've had in years.
