    Spicy Chicken Kabob

I love this spot! Location is super close to the Newport pier and service is always quick and friendly. I like to stop here after run club for a satisfying dinner. The owner (or whomever is in all the photos around the place) is almost always there as well, which for some reason makes it feel more like home. I always order their chicken dishes here and the chicken is always so juicy and never dry. There is always plenty of space to sit and eat as well! Thanks for being consistently good all of these years, I will be back!!!

I had kept walking by this place when I was in town, and I went back again the next day after I had it for dinner. IT IS SOO GOOD!!!! You can see them cooking the food right there!! Everything is so so fresh and prepared for order!! The owner was super friendly!! You can tell how good the food is, as the walls are lined with pictures of famous people he has catered for. The chicken kabob is so juicy and flavorful, I loved it and in the wrap! Greek salad and a nice amount of toppings! The falafel was a winner as was the baklava. I would repeat this meal in a heartbeat!!!

Cute little mom and pop shop with friendly service and generous portions. The chicken wasn't as flavorful as I had expected from other reviews, but the hummus was tasty and it felt like it was made in someone's home kitchen

Soooo yumm! I've tried their hummus before and it's one of the best I've had so I came back to try one of their food items and I am SO glad I did! I asked what their most popular items are which I was pointed to the Lemon Garlic Chicken Breast Kabob and Gyro Sandwich. I was feeling a sandwich this day so I opted for the latter and omg! It was amazing and I wish I ordered a second! The veggies and sauce taste so fresh and the slices of meats were perfect and well cooked. I loved the gyro sandwich and I am definitely coming back to try the lemon garlic chicken kabob 5/5 for sure! Service is friendly and ambiance is cozy. I especially loved the location right by the beach. If you're looking for Mediterranean cuisine, stop here!!

Delicious!!! Their grilled chicken plate is perfect, it's light and filling. I have enjoyed their grilled chicken a couple times now and the rice has a perfect buttery accompaniment. The grilled chicken has the perfect char and it's tender and moist. After seeing some of the other customer's recommendations, I can't wait to try more from their menu.

Great Lamb Kabob! Simply good food and good service my first time eating here, won't be my last. Thank you Forte Kabob

While visiting Newport Pier, I was craving something halal and found this place through Google. It's a cozy little shop with limited seating. The owner, who also prepares the food, was a kind and welcoming gentleman. We ordered the gyro and kebab, and both were absolutely succulent and juicy. The food was simple yet packed with flavor. The shop's walls are decorated with photos of the owner alongside various celebrities, which made the wait more enjoyable. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this spot to others!

Forte is located in Newport Beach so there's parking all around. There's a few spaces right in front which makes it convenient if you get there in good timing. We ordered the wrap falafel and wrap chicken which we enjoyed so much on one of the few tables they offer inside. The falafel was flavorful and had a nice little crunch. It was mixed with a perfect combination of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and tzatziki sauce on lavash bread The customer service was nice and our food came out fairly quickly. There's a clean restroom towards the back which requires a code. I will definitely come back again and check out their gyros and hummus.

I have to preface my review by saying that my father is a Moroccan Amazigh (aka Morocco's version…read moreof Native Americans in the US). Naturally Moroccan food is something I grew up with, a comfort food, and something I am a bit critical of. I've dined at many Moroccan restaurants domestically and abroad. I've left pretty much all of those restaurants feeling that the food was average. Today Casablanca became the exception. My sister booked a reservation for Mother's Day and I was looking forward to a Moroccan meal at a restaurant I hadn't heard about. My expectations weren't high due to my prior experiences and Casablanca quickly surpassed that bar and every meal exceed my highest of expectations. We ordered bastilla with chicken and almonds, a honey lamb tangine, lemon chicken tangine (one of my favorite meals), couscous with a mix of skewers, lamb sausage couscous, sea bass, Baklava, crème brulee, stuffed dates, and ice cream. It's often the attention to detail in the simplest components that typically make something special. From the texture of the couscous to the lemon chicken sauce and how the green olives absorbed the flavor was perfect. Bastilla is a very tough dish for me to like due to me preferring savory over sweet. Finding the balance of the flavors is difficult and often what is missed. Today was the first time I went back for more bastilla outside of when my aunts cooked it. The lemon chicken was incredibly flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly. the Royal Couscous had various skews that were all delicious and tasted how you'd expect it to when the Moroccan aunties are getting down in the kitchen. I'm not a big lamb guy, but the lamb here wasn't gamey and fell off of the bone. The rest of the meals and desserts were equally delicious. The owner is an Algerian Amazigh and the staff was Moroccan and French. It is obvious they have a passion for what they do and truly care about their clients. My father speaks Tamazight, Arabic, and French. So he was able to speak to all the staff in their native language. The love and care they showed was wonderful and I'm sure they show this same warmth to all of their clients. I love out of a suitcase for work and get to try food in countless places. LA can spoil you, but it's often the holes in the wall that surprise you and not the trendy or more formal restaurants. Casablanca was an exception to the rule. It just became one of my favorite restaurants in SoCal. Thank you to the owner, friendly staff, and chef for making it even more special for my mom on Mother's Day. P.s. my mother is a Chamorro that has cooked Moroccan food for the last 40 years and is overly critical and as mentioned before my father is Moroccan. Both her and my father left the evening singing their praises and had some left overs when we got home. Sorry this was so long, thanks for coming to my ted talk. TLDR I'm Moroccan went with my Moroccan dad and we both think it's the best Moroccan restaurant we've had in years.

Lebanese style falafels are the best and this place nails it. We waited about 15 mins for someone to come and offer us menus or beverages but it seemed as though we had been forgotten. It felt like we were an inconvenience. My husband ended up calling over a waiter and asked if we could order as we had looked up the menu's online. Our waiter, George, was phenomenal! Super kind, apologetic and kept us updated throughout the night. He understood that we were not having the best experience, and was trying his best to make us feel comfortable and welcomed. We had a baby with us so we asked that we be seated away from any hookah, and they really honored that request and made sure nobody near us was smoking. The food was decent, well seasoned and tasty, but nothing mindblowing. Slow to arrive but it seemed like this evening in particular was just a new kind of busy for the restaurant. In any case, I think if you've got time to sit and chat and wait for food and service, you won't feel it as much, but we had a baby, and a group of hungry adults who felt every minute of the waiting. I'd probably come back on a weeknight and try it out again; hoping that we don't get forgotten about by our first waitress.
