**I want to update my previous experience and give credit where it's due. We came in right around our scheduled pickup time, and overall the experience ended up being great. The reception was welcoming, everything was handled smoothly, and the staff was courteous and professional. Most importantly, the food absolutely delivered. Everyone loved it -- quality was on point, portions were solid, and everything tasted fresh. Appreciate the team taking care of us. Definitely a place we'll be coming back to. ** I don't usually write reviews, but this one earned it. I had a scheduled pickup for 3:30 PM today (Easter Sunday) and arrived at 3:15. The employee at the front (younger guy with tattoos and earrings) was dismissive right out of the gate. I gave my name and he insisted there was no order--only to realize, after multiple attempts, that he had it the entire time and had misheard it. Instead of owning the mistake, he got annoyed and told me I was "too early" and that I'd have to wait the full time. When I asked a simple question about timing, I got attitude instead of service. Let's be clear--being 15 minutes early for a pickup order is normal. Acting like a customer is inconveniencing you because of your own mistake is not. The food may be fine, but the front-of-house experience completely undermines it. Service like that is what loses repeat customers. read more

I was wanting to try something new in the area and stumbled across this place in a reddit thread. So glad I went, I never really was fond of greek food in the first place but this place changed my mind. I got their chicken kabob plate and it was so much food, came with pita, hummus and their tzatziki sauce. Everything is so good, chicken was flavorful, loved the rice. I never was a fan of hummus but their hummus was amazing. I crave this now and hoping to go back soon! Please check this out if you can! So so delicious! I've been looking for a great GREEK spot nearby! I was in Newport driving by and stopped in before closing time. Ordered the gyro combo with fries and the lemon chicken. All I have to say is being Greek myself I was thoroughly impressed. The person taking my order seemed like he wanted to get out of there because it was closing time, but he won me over by giving my family the rest of the tyropitas (cheese pies) complimentary since they were closing . We don't live near Costa Mesa but we were in the area and saw the Yelp reviews were high for this place! And the people weren't lying!! It's located in a small shopping area right by a gas station. I ordered the chicken kabob plate ($24) and it was enough to have leftovers later. The chicken was tender and flavorful and I loved the roasted potatoes. There were a few tables and we were able to snag one to sit down and eat. Staff was really friendly. Love the authentic Greek feel and food of this place! 7 years and counting, My Greek Kitchen continues to deliver on excellence. Ania and the team are stellar, organized, friendly and efficient. The menu hasn't changed much and neither has the consistency - still as good as day one. Nothing is harder than consistency in the restaurant biz and they deliver day in and day out. We out MGK at least 1-2x per week and it's as good as day one. Plus, they finally fixed the Baklava issue (lol). You can't go wrong with anything here, everything is divine, fresh, high quality ingredient, great portions. Just solid A+ all around. read more

I've driven past this place frequently and never noticed this great restaurant before. In fact, the day of discovery was motivated by two equally important actions: First, eat something before the long drive to Pasadena (I was initially aiming for the next door 7-Eleven, and to get off 17th Street and cut through the neighborhood. The Gyro lunch special sign in the window didn't hurt either as I made a split-second decision to change course. Inside, it's smallish, a few tables as well as a few outside. A nice girl helped me dial in my order. My first question was, what kind of onions come on it? When she said red onions, I was excited, I only like red onions raw. Then, I asked for light tomatoes, assuming they'd be diced like most other establishments. Wrong! They're grilled and thus more better. I was quoted up to a ten-minute wait, but I had barely grabbed napkins and put a lid on my drink when they called my name. It was hot outside and warm inside, so I chose to sit indoors. I was impressed by how hot the fries were and how crispy they were, too. The Tzasiki sauce was a generous portion, and a fork was also included. The Gyro was wrapped in foil, and I didn't realize how generously packed it was until I realized there was no way I could eat it initially until I whittled the contents down with the fork. Off to a great start! Basically, it was scrumptious, shaved off the rotisserie and flavorful. The sauce is very fresh and full of cucumber. They also sell 4oz. sides in case you want more. I couldn't eat all the fries either. Anyhow, this was the first of many planned trips. Their other dishes, kabobs, and sides look amazing too. I'd suggest splitting the special and get a second Gyro because that's a lot of fries. read more

Family owned, delicious food, friendly and efficient service. We've been customers for a long time, but this weekend was the first time we ordered to cater a family party. Mr. Lilis was SO helpful, guiding us so we had just what we wanted in the amounts we needed - he never tried to up-sell or divert us. When the food arrived, the hot food was hot and fresh and the cold food was cold. And everything was wonderful. After having eaten there once before my sister and I happily chose the wonder people at My Greek Kitchen to cater our Aunts Celebration of Life for 50 people. First, the incredible assistance from Anayia Lilis made the whole experience from start to finish absolutely perfect. She handled everything brilliantly and with an incredible friendliness that makes want to do it all again. Of course it goes with saying that the food was spectacular especially the spanakopita! We ended up with some leftovers of our falafel, chicken kabobs, rice, tadziki and we are still enjoying it all, especially their very tasty roasted potatoes!
